Sorry...this is the first time I post a reply in this forum (maybe a few times before but even I myself can't remember )

My question is...what's Magic Resistance ? I know it's a skill to resist magic as its name mention but does it trigger with chances or always have passively ? What type of magic it refers resisting ? Dark/Destructive/Summoning ? What's different between hero's Magic Resistance skill and Unicorn's Aura of Magic Resistance ? One more, how about normal Unicorns and Upgraded ones' Aura of Magic Resistance ? Does it increase chance/resistance ? How to encounter them ? As far as I know is clear Unicorns asap is the only way.

I often play against with my Sylvan friends and their Unicorns almost always make me confusing. Cause sometimes when the text "RESIST" appear then my hero's turn gone with nothing !!!

Oh I nearly forget to mention that my favorite is Dungeon and yes, I know it's nothing to worry this case. But they don't allow me to choose Dungeon cause we(even myself) think it's a bit overpowered because of stalker/matriarch's invisibility + magic during that time + fight and run.

So, if you don't mind, explain me how to encounter against Dungeon's that strategy and help me fighting from my side so that I can choose my favorite race again !

Magic resistance IS what it says and works just like the unicorns' aura. Any hostile spell can fail when your hero has the ability or resistance artifacts. Percentage depends on what you have since it stacks, as an example luck->magic resistance + armour of the forgotten hero= 15 + 20= 35%
Unicorns have the same resistance upgraded or not except the pristine ones that lack it.

Where dungeon is concerned just attack week 4-5 and you are fine For all its speed it has no chance against lategame sylvan. Dungeon is overpowered only in maps that it can attack week 2, 3 or maps with extremely rich center because it's one of the fastest factions out there.

Does anyone know/has experience if sylvan arti set reduces the time between two shoots by the ranger even if use imbue arrow?

Manual mentions only deadeye shoot and multiarrow, so that would mean no, but...

Dont know if I have seen it but its a easy answer to you that know it. Does Rain of arrows - Warlocks luck and Imbue Arrow work togheter? Or does warlocks luck only work when you cast spell?

Hey guys, I started going through the original H5 Sylvan faction campaign and I am having a hard time on the second map.

I gave Findan the following skills:

attack
defense
logistics
luck
enlightment

He pretty much sucks and is not helpfull at all in combat.  The Inferno armies drain his pitiful mana and then they end up gating near my shooters.  He can only kill a few monsters at a time so is basically worthless when going against an inferno army with 50-200 monsters in the stacks.

Should I restart the campaign and give him a different set of skills?

Well Magic isn't so hot against Inferno (unless you are academy or necro one for near unlimited mana, the other for the ability to GET near unlimited mana), especially with their mana drain..so that set up should be good..might help if we know the perks.  Rain of arrows will help your main guy do some damage if your avenger is set against inferno creatures.  DeadEye shot helps also.

By the way, having defense is not a bad thing.  Reduces the damage you take, so it is doable.  Use Treants to block your shooters from their gated stacks, and remember in a Sylvan vs Inferno fight it is always a battle of who gets in the first attack.  Tactics is a must, hope for any init boosters, and winstrider boots are a god send.  Do not just sit around waiting for them to come to you, hit em hard .. hit em fast, and most importantly..hit em FIRST.

Inferno normally has horrible defense.  Also, gating goes off of current number in the stack..the less there is in a stack..the less they gate in.  If they take the time to use gate, that is one less attack they get...make em pay for it.

Thank you for the advice!  For some reason, I know it seems obvious to you guys, but I never blocked in my shooters with treeants.  I always put them up front hoping they would get attacked first and absorb damage.

Anyway, I started over before I saw your reply and traded defense and enlightment for Light Magic and War Machines.  Everything was going great but now the red army won't attack me in the first map.

Need to start over for the third time I guess.

I'm confused about the skill Battle Commander, can someone please explain to me how it works. To me it almost sounds like it boosts the production of your war dancers, though I can't see actually doing that. Does it just make it so that if you fight them they will join instead of fight you?

Not much of a bonus but the perk unlocks retribution that is quite lovely. Personally I prefer getting just aura of swiftness.

Yeah, sadly though I am still playing just the basic HoMM5, planning to get the TotE sometime next month. I had started playing with Talanar because I really liked the recruitment right from the get go to give me that little boost early on. Though I am starting to think Ylthin or Wyngaal might be a better choice.

Talanar is kind of useless. A main's job is to creep non-stop, not stay back in town to boost growth. Any secondary can do that.

Hi!

Me and some friends are playing a large map, they always use dark or/and destructive on magic skill and I dont know what skill you should go after, I know it depends what race they are but the skill you should always have

This is what I think, or am im wrong?

Sylvian: (im noob if Rain of arrows work for some skill)
Destructive - (what you get in your mage guild)
Luck - Elven luck or if Warlocks luck work on Rain of arrows
Sorcery - If it works on rain of arrows becouse you gona use that
Dont know what more is good for them if you should go attack or Defend or another skill
