I like Treants. They're great for their lasting power when in a tight spot and I love having them defend the main city especially if I have a defending hero with Cold Death to get rid of catapults and war machines and then damage higher tier creatures. It may be map dependant but sometimes a good defence can make a huge difference.

Except you don't need many of them to do your job. You can delay building them till week 4 for instance, esp if there is a tier 6 dwelling on the map. But you cannot afford to delay dragons for even one week.

It's kinda like shooting yourself in the foot. No matter what they tell you it is never a good idea

I'm fond of your examples.

Okay, on day 7, I can choose from these buildings:

I'm hesitating among Citadel, City Hall, Stone Ring, Uni Glade, Mystic Pond. What would you choose if you were me?

Druids Helps a lot in creeping, especially if you split them. The logarithmic formula for lightning bolt makes small stacks deal relatively more damage than bigger ones. Unicorns would be nice if you have regeneration but that is unlikely.

So do you think it is better than Citadel with which I'd have +50% population growth the next day?

Or City Hall, so I won't suffer with emptying the last coins out of my pockets when in need of creature hiring?

Or Mystic Pond, so the next day I'd have an increase in resources?

Pond only if the map is really bumming, otherwise the resource bonus is pretty pathetic.

City hall is good, but it is better to build on 1st, 2nd or 3rd day on second week, because if you build it on Sunday, you will lose a quite fair amount of troops.

For Sylvan creeping, Druids and Hunters are the essential troops, others are only for cleaning up the rest and maybe diverting the dangerous walkers from your archers.

I would hesitate between citadel and druids. but I'm not sure the few extra pixies, blade dancers and hunters are worth the druids? even though they could be better in global strength??

What would you do with them? All you really need in creeping other than druids is hunters and sprites, the latter being kinda irrelevant since they hit&run while your hero does the real job. None of this compares to 8 druids.

Thank you very much for the useful answers!

I haven't run out of questions. Day 7, week 3: Dragon Altar or Castle? Which is better: more hunters/druids or some dragons?

This is gonna turn into a building dilemma of x or y in week 3, 4 or 5 so all I can say is play some more and see for yourself. Or learn to build both, one week earlier if possible

These choices really depend on the map and the difficulty. When playing on certain settings (higher difficulty and especially if the map is not rich) some resources like wood can be really scarce whith Sylvan so you have to plan ahead and see what you should decide for that particular game. For instance if the map is rich you can delay the capital and build other buildings but if the map is poor in gold then it may be a better idea to increase the income of your city so you don't get stuck a few turns later because the coffers are empty.

Fair enough, thank you!

Now there is another thing I don't understand: I've played with Ossir, and I got Power of Speed ability available by Battle Frenzy, so it is impossible to get Nature's wrath, thus Nature's luck. It's okay, but I also get Power of Speed (which is a knight ability as far as we know) for Ylthin. Why?

I meant I got Power of Speed instead of Nature's wrath, or at least I thought that.

Please spare your irrelevantly condescending comments, I don't think this is what this forum is for. Or anyway, I don't care about them.

Basic abilities like battle frenzy unlock all of the advanced perks that require them, which one you get is random. Though I have good reason to believe that the game hates you with a passion and does not want to give you the one you want The memory mentor seems to confirm my hypothesis.

That's the original H5. This skillwheel has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the tote skill paths. You can find it in your game directory or in the manual sticky.
