Unles you have massive knowledge, have visited mana doubling well and have all mana cost reducing skills. I once had over 400 mana, with Kujin on campaign. My warcrys cost almost nothing, so it was needless.

decent, like everything else what sylvan has. As long as you survive earlygame, you can win with nearly anything.

It's not like you actually need mana anymore after that kind of spellcasting because the entire enemy army is dead anyway

Sylvan armies can be very powerful led by a Wizard. Resurrection + MotW + Pristine Unicorns is fantastic, and the spellpower boost from High Druids helps a lot.

I wouldn't try that. Sure a wizard could get insane spellpower but the ranger's with high druids is nothing short of impressive not to mention avenger. Better to kill the enemy faster than coming back faster

Sure but the wizard strategy might be more viable on a map with multiple enemies rather than a one on one conflict.
It might be tough to switch your avenger units around and there is a possibility of adding in some artificered rakshasa on the go...

Like as-if the Light Elves need any Hero for their cause.
Light elves are so advanced in the art of both Might(mainly raw power and agility)and Magic(their level ones-Sprites have already mastered basic spells of the magic guild-level one and three units spray-melee's quite effective attacks, thank you very much, indeed), that is almost unfair to play them.
Just imagine, that your hero gains the secondary skill of Advanced Tactics with about 600 troops at his/her disposal. Whereas, 400 are both Sprites and WindDancers, 125 are Arcane Archers and, 50 are Elder Druids + 25 are Pristine Unicorns. And, you are only, at end of the third week of Month one. I do not know about you but, I really feel sorry for the poor other factions of that currently played map.
Hint: Sprites and WindDancers are very fast and with 15 of initiative without any beneficial spells affecting them on round 1 of combat. Sprites can fly to effortlessly attack three units with their quite efficient spray attack(by attacking the middle one, you get to hit two others automatically)and, the WindDancers hit the fourth enemy stack(on the second round, if, they get surrounded, can speedy attack all surrounding enemy units with their awesome blade handling agility). Arcane Archers, basically wipes out anything that stands and that has not been attacked already by the Sprites and WindDancers. And, the Druid-Elders halves the numbers of level 5 to 7(which ever stood more powerful in numbers)enemy units. The Pristine Unicorns are the backbone of Shooter-casters' direct melee attack's protection. The PUs will become the main crushing force in month 2 week 2 because, the Treants came to the light, and offer their immense Might as main protection for the shooters-casters. Dragons are so little in numbers, they are only good as Capitol City's main garrison. Besides, Savage Treants are as tough as Green Dragons anyway. Treants are, like the mobile wooden walls that refuse to be destroyed(takes the enemy units about 3 to 4 rounds of combat to just put down 5 to 8 Treants). If, you get to master the levels 1 to 5, you will see your level 6-Treants grow in very interesting numbers. At that point in the game, Hasting your treants is no longer a bad idea. The other levels of troops are so many and, so fast already, you might not need the Treants anyway.

Yeah, well, I just got the 2008 call and, told me that, my gameplay experience is too great. It advised me to ignore anything that would have happened 2 years ago(a few months before H.o.F ever showed up).
WinVista 32bit was already released in early Spring of 2006. That O.S. has been updated/upgraded 2 times over(2007 files over the 2006 ones and, 2008 files are now being downloaded and installed/replacing the 2007 ones). I have, now, WinVista Home Premium v.7.0.6000+ and will be at v.8.0.**** by the end of this year. Just in time for getting the Beta version of the upcoming O.S. of Vienna(might change its name by the Official Release of Spring 2009). Vienna might force the overall E.C.U.(Entertaiment Center Unit instead of rather M.C.U. or P.C.)to be at 64bit processing power only and, unlocking a newer generation of AMD/Intel main processors. The 128bit processors are already scheduled for release by Fall of 2008. God knows what is next in the High-Tech hardware industry for 2010(that is only 1year and 9 months from right now).
So, for me, HoMM5 v.1.6 is fully archived and, its expansion of v.2.1 as well. Do not even know if my HoMM5-T.o.t.E v.3.0 will even be installable onto my next E.C.U., will probably need, at least, two more, large patches, in order to have a proper gameplay experience.
Also, a thorough Mod. just like W.o.G. is for HoMM3, will be required to fully upgrade the game to a new release status.
Could you, by any chance, gather up these article like posts of mine and make a PDF file out of it called: HoMM : ITS UPCOMING FUTURE.
BTW: DirectX9 will have no more support next year and, DX11 will be implemented for its next O.S.

Zzzzz ... please stop the off-topic and irrelevant none-sense rant about real or unreal computer specifications. I can pinpoint about a dozen false or wrong statements in your posts above. As I have reason to believe, that you do this on purpose, further posts will be edited or deleted as I see fit to avoid confusing other forum members.

Well, anyway.. Perhaps someone good with sylvan would write a decent earlygame and antirush guide for dummies? I'd enjoy one. My sylvan sucks through the roof.

Not to mention the Wind Dancers, who will attack all surrounding enemies, or my favorite: The E.C.U., also know as the more familiar Entertainment Center Unit. Priceless.
