Thanks alot for the answers guys

It did turn out that some of the stuff is just different solved in H5. I though for instance dynamic battle was something different.

But it all doesn't make up for the fact that it is way hard to get a good strategical overview and camera angels.

Also I totally agree that magic has become way to much powerful. Playing Dungeon, I normally just put my units on wait (where is the wait button by the way ) and wait until my hero can barbecue the enemy with an empowered meteorshower.

They should really make might and magic become equally strong.

And why should Attack and Defence be both primary as well as Secondary skills?

How come Attack gives only 5% per level, while Defenece 10% (This is the opposite of Heroes 3). I can see in the terms of abilities though, but for a necromancer having battle frenzy and vitality is almost a must now, since the skeleton (archers) gets really improved that way!

Well, it seems to make the most sense, since retaliation takes place AFTER the first hit. Attack would be overpowered otherwise.

Hello.

Quotes: Gom_Jabbar: "Just set battles on "Standard" and not "Dynamic Battle" and you will have plenty of time".
neoexdeath: "I don't get it- you DON'T have a time limit in single player."

There is at least ONE battle(in the Necromancer campaign) where the "Time Limit" is turned on and you can't turn it off. Believe me, I tried.

I'm pretty sure there was at least one other before that, but I played it so quickly(and won easily) that I barely noticed the difference.

I'm wondering if the "Time Limit" in battles is something that can be set (so it can't be turned off) in the Map Editor.

Thanks, but HOW is attack and defence calculated? Is 1 pt of attack-primary skill worth 10% or 5% extra damage and defence likewise?

Another thing:
The tutorial just shows up in the Campaign - Not other games.

AND it is frustrating that the scroll function on the mouse is inverted! - Why can't this be turned off? It is not logical to move your mouse right if you like to go left?

Now this thread is just getting silly...

I'm seeing more and more people posting "failings" in Heroes V that are actually just failures on the part of the user to read the manual or just plain experiment...

The stuff about dynamic battles was one example. Also, people complaining about the kingdom over. This has been largely superceded by the pop-up info-tips from the resource bar along the top of the screen. I personally preferred the Kingdom Summary screen, but the info-tips from the Resource Bar get the job done...

Well, if somebody posts about the actual failings of the game, he might get accused of spamming or missing the point (basicly the bad thing were what the public wanted, so you can't complain about them)

i think the lighting of the game is too bright, and units look cartoonish. Makes the game lose its epic sense that has been developed throughout the other heroes games.

cartoonish? are you sure you have the game graphics set on maximum in all categories? the graphics IMO are much better than any other heroes game. the graphics are the last thing i am going to complain about.

I have only 2 major gripes with the game:

Horrible AI. Some games in the past running on 200mhz machines did better than this. With all the current game AI programming techniques now easily found and very documented, I wonder if they even thought about AI until almost too late. It's not like the maps have lots of open walking space or something...

AND

Irritating slowdowns. I run other games with far more polygons rendered at full detail flawlessly, but not this one. I start turning the camera and wham! 1 frame/sec.

Hmm . . .

I see absolutely nothing wrong with this game. But of course that is because I wasn't comparing it to Heroes-oMM III. The graphics are stunning. I'm very impressed with this aspect. All of the problems I encountered are easily fixed with patches. Problems such as cartoonish portraits, square battle grids that act like hexes, average music, no strategy guide, no random map generator, etcetra. I feel very good about those things because they can easily be fixed. I recall hearing Vlaad say that the map editor and random map generator were promised in first patch.

The game's greatest feature is how well it designed, painted, and portrays its dragons. They are an unbelievable artistic masterpiece. They are better than Ogrebattle 64(Nintendo 64), World of Warcraft, Neverwinter Nights, and every other computer game I've ever played. They are so well done that they account for 30% of my interest in the entire game. I can well imagine some high level wizards' duels with not but breath-takingly created stunning dragons for minions! I am very pleased and look forward to the coming patches for this game.

Actually, the editor is going to be released "no later than August", while RMG comes after that. The first patch should fix the bugs and balance issues.

Kingpriest's H5 Wishlist

- A few more heroes for each faction.  I think it would be nice to see campaign heroes available in all game formats with balanced specials.  Some of them are too cool to simply be used for the campaign alone.

- Map editor (will be here eventually).

- Random map generator (will be here eventually).

- More artifacts.

- A LOT more maps (will be here eventually).

- Return of misc. artifact slots.

- Balance out the hero special abilities.  As it stands there are some heroes which are incomparibly better than others.

Umm...

- There is too many different kind of dragons. I don't like Spectral Dragons, and I was hoping to see wraiths as lvl7 greatures of necropolis. But nah.

- Not enough maps, I've played all of them and im pretty bored =S

I couldn't agree more.  Need a hell of a lot more maps.  The wraith should definitely be the level 7 Necro unit as well, just give them a nice buff and better abilities.  Balance the Death Knights and make them the level 6 unit to fill the gap.

Alot of them are cool though, if you turn your graphics right up (which I can't do unless I want to massacre the frame rate )

The most disapointing is the interface, and the unfunctional 3d view. They could have make 3d as in warcarft 3, where there is beauty, but also no need to rotate/zoom all the time.

Maybe not realism, but how cartoonish.

I agree with the maps too, there's not enough maps with just plain old kill the enemy.
