GG, that was funny.  ^_^  You should have made the army turn around and attack Norm after they took the castle.

Just a side comment on the first one, I usually take exp from chests.    I guess that makes me a n00b.

I liked this one but don't know what it has to do with HOMM.

Easy answer; it's not really about HOMM. Well, unless you've ever lost a town while your hero was off wandering (or goofing off, as in the comic). Anyway, the thing I noticed about a lot of HOMM noobisms is that only a bunch of them can work effectively in comic scenarios. As the obvious ones are used up (ie. gold/xp, capitol/dwellings, Titans, etc), it'll be harder to come up with other noobish stuff that would be funny in the comics. The first comic shows how quickly the standard ideas can be used up, as I made fun of at least three noobisms in that one episode. So I've decided to insert some "filler" material of Norm just acting retarded to give the comic a longer life.

You know, I was actually going to make it end that way at first. I scrapped it, though, when I realised that I needed Norm alive for the upcoming strips. But, now that I think of it, I could also have ended the comic with the army simply chasing Norm.

It's okay, you're not the only one. For a person who's played HOMM since around 1996, I've only adapted the only-choose-gold strategy in January this year. The comic is mostly making fun of how some vets totally flip out whenever somebody says he/she takes experience from chests. It's kind of funny, since we "noobs" were only using logic when we chose the experience.

If you're wondering where Norm went, I made a mini comic to pass the time.

NOt bad comics keep them up if you can.

BY the way I think taking gold is good sometimes, but when you dont need gold as a semi emergency, take the xp.

It's making fun of the noobish knight called Norm, who tends to think and act in ways that would get him severely chewed up by HC vets. You'd expect Norm to post about only using one hero per game or taking the experience over the gold. You know where that would land him.

And then we have Norm with his beloved Titan. He thinks he's uber powerful, and he fails to see what's about to happen when he challenges a pack of Mighty Gorgons. You kind of have to be familiar with the noob vs vet skirmishes that have taken place in the Library the past few years to get the punchline.

There is a limited amount of experience on the map, while there is an infinate amount of gold, corelating to how long you wait. Sometimes it's best to get lots of gold, especialy in the beggining. But hey, this topic is not about that really so I'm done

There isn't an infinite amount of gold on the map. Your opponent won't let you collect gold and build up your army for months. Just look at GG's last comic

You haven't played H3 that much, Celfious?

There is an infinite amount of creatures on the map, therefore there is also an infinite amount of XP if you wait . Anyway your logic is quite odd.

My logic is simple, perhaps misinterpreted. Take the gold if you need it. If you dont need it take the experience.

I dont recall there being infinate numbers of monsters on the map, unless you mean the week spawns which occour every week or so. The infinate gold I meant is the 4000 (capitol) and other 2000 per day. After a certain point your getting more than enough gold to recruit all monsters. anyways... Maybe you mean infinate monsters by the enemies monsters.

@ FoG: Sorry

@ Celfious. Just like there is an infinite anount of gold (4000 or 2000 per day for each town) there is an infinite amount of creatures (weekly growth in every town / month of the XXX: "XXX population doubles" / the weekly increase of wandering stacks' numbers). And creatures = XP. There is no difference. You wrote:

I understood that like this: "I should consider selecting XP from chests unless I need it right now because I can always get gold later."

No, unless you've got one or more treasuries, this is plain wrong. Actually the more towns you get the more gold you lack.

Not absolutely. I can have two towns where I don't have more then 3rd level dwellings + a city hall, and my main, fully biult with a capitol and therefore I'm in the red.

Why would you not want to build level 4-7 dwellings? If it's a town that opponents are unlikely to capture you could just let the creatures grow even though you can't afford to buy them.

Let all of your cretures grow, in all of your towns. Then when it is needed, you recruit from one town, like if the enemy is about to attack that town, or you want reinforcements but you don't want to have to visit every town.

Just an announcement:

I'm planning to change the name of this comic in the near future. The reason is because I feel that the name is too suggestively similar to the comic by Gianna Masetti ("The Noob"). Therefore, while this comic will continue, it will go by an altered name.

And sorry about the long wait times. I'm a lazy, lazy guy.
