Weird Artifacts

According to the manual, The Sandals of the Blessed have +1 to all heroes stats, and are a relic, costing 30,000, whilst the Dragon Eye Ring has +1 to all heroes attributes, along with increasing the initiative of all shooters by 10%, and is only a major artifact costing 25,000

Is there a difference between stats and attributes????? :S:S:S:S

Actually, the circle below the Death Knights is a red/white/purple mix and is the neutral circle. Dungeon looks different.

lol it's crazy but I have the same problem!

I had ver. 1.0 and that crashed everytime
I updated to 1.2 and it worked....but with a few problems.
for one the black sylvan town
It looks...really wierd, it's actually kinda cool like it's how the town would look at midnight and there are lights and stuff but I'm sure the regular town looks 100x better.

In addition, the Academy is screwed up it is less darkened than the sylvan but it is still way to dark. The rest of the map and towns are fine so it ticked me off because I like the towns the best.

Necropolis may have a slight bug too, in that it seems to have a bluish tint but it may be ok though, it looks pretty close to the pictures.

As for other errors, like there will be these blue squares at the base of some of the landscape. This doesn't happen every time but once in awhile I'll have to take a picture.

I also have Vladimir having the ultimate skill, yet he has no ability to cast it.

Probably the wierdest/funniest is if you have quite a few titans attack alot of imps/familiars, for some odd reason you will kill them but they still will be standing, basically there is 0 of them left but yet the animation for them to die didn't activate. then you see the animation of them draining mana, but since their are 0 of them they drain 0 mana, and so if you kill all the other creatures the battle will end but they will still be just chillin' there. This also can happen if you poison them with assassins and the poison kills them next turn.

Tactics sometimes doesn't work in Duel mode regardless of the opponent hero's skills
Divine guidance sometimes does nothing at all in duel mode

serious bug!!!
While i was playing necropolis campaign, mission 3 "the invasion" just skipped and i didnt play it at all...as i was complete mission 2, mission 4 came up....
wtf is this supposed to be ? =[

A nasty bug here, funny thing is that Nival kinda broken the game's stability

In patch 1.03, gating worked fine (i'm not talking about balance)

In latest patch 1.04, "sometimes" when ALL the gated creatures die, the game crashes to desktop. It is weird because it happens only sometimes, and it wasn't present in patch 1.03. Any ideas?

The gating problem is a severe one!

I recently had to downgrade to 1.3 in able to play the campaign.
I have written to Ubisoft without a good answer yet.
Most probably we will have to wait for the 1.5 patch to see this problem fixed

But, unfortunelately this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to bugs in HOMMV.
To mention a few other irritating bugs (Please comment)

- The music is totally unsynchronized. When you move from grassland over to another terrain, the game still plays the grassland music for ages, and then rather randomly swap theme.

- If you move the mouse just a little when right-clicking an item, the tool-tip dissapears. This could be fixed by locking the tooltip when right-clicking.

Any comments? I am glad to hear.

I remember that mission well. I also saved the two heroes from the prisons and nothing hapend and teal player was allready gone so i wondered what it coudl be and went to the main town and changed the turn and then Mission Completed text came and i tough that was kinda weird but i think i accidently skip the build the garrison mission and when i camed to the town once again i allready had that army.

So my adwise is not to start the map over after you have made all just go to your main town whit the campaing hero and just wait there until purple player attack your town and after that you should win the map.  Map might be bugged but it still playable and i don't think it's nessesary to restart the map all over at all.

Thanx for reporting this. I put it in the 1.5 thread as a reported Bug, at some point someone should bring it forward to the Ubisoft people. I guess there will be a Bugs and Errors thread on the Ubisoft board as well, and hopefully someone will check if it's there, or pass it on.

Bug with Master of Fire

If Master of Fire affects a defending creature, the defense bonus from defending will be lost and the target will only have their original defense/2 left. I noticed that for some reason it's even a little lower than that.. very strange...After all it all works fine on creatures that aren't defending. Note that if you defend while already having the master of fire effect on your creature, you will still get the +30% defense bonus based on the current defense value, no matter if the creature was defending before or not.
When the master of fire effect ends, the defense is reset to its normal value.

steps to reproduce:
-take dirael or helmar in duel mode
-cast fireball on a defending creature
-compare the defense before to the defense after the spell

when i did that on dirael's defending emeralds their defense dropped from 45 to 16, while casting it on non-defending emeralds reduced it from 35 to 18.

hi i made an account specifically for this same problem... every time i hit "close" to finish the first campaign it crashes and boots me to the desktop..

How do i uninstall the 1.5 patch and keep the others(i have all patches installed) as i dont want to reinstall the game and do all the missions over.

i got exactly the same problem. My game keeps crashing when i finish the third map in the inferno campaign. I tried to uninstall without deleting the save games. I patched the game up to 1.41 and loaded the save game. But the same thing happened. My game crashed again. So what is the solution to this? Replaying the map and hope it dont happen?

When I leave the game for a while and come back the mouse glitches.
I know what the glitch is... but not how to describe it...

The image that "follows" the cursor stops, and waits in one place, giving the appearance that the game froze. However the mouse is still here, and when you hover over buttons, they change color like normal. Upon quitting to desktop I always find that my whole comp mouse is stuck, however I can still drag boxes on the desktop. By restart my comp and using load autosave I can fix it... but through too much effort.

When i restarted Inferno campaign and got veyer 2nd time, the game quit to my Win2K desktop, but the next time i got there, it din't happen. I will get the patch, but... does it affect the online mode by any change?

Yep I've seen it. Apparently the AI is programmed to attack with spells no matter what if it has aoe. Last time I had archmages fireball themselves.
