Looks like the game somehow fails to render the map, it shouldn't be looking like either of those screenshots.

Academy/artificer bug ++

Hi, posted this in wrong thread first...

Long time homm player and fan, esp homm3 ^^.

Havent really played homm5 until recently, and last week i registred online to play multiplayer and I discovered some bugs...

First of all, Im not sure if this is the right place to bring this up, if not so, please tell me where I should take this up....

The first and definitively most important bug is in fact the reason I now created this forum account to tell you all about is this:

When playing Academy you can with artificer get an umlimited amount of rescources! When creating a miniartifact if you click 2 or 3 times on the create bottom instead of once, you get 2-3 miniartfacts EVEN IF you didnt have the rescourses to create them (though you need the resc. to create the first). Then sell one of them and create 2-3 more (you can get more than 3 if you click fast enough), sell 1 and create 2-3more ect... then finially sell them all to get a 300-400 houndred resc. in about 2 minutes. And with marketplace you can then get unlimited gold.

Seriously! Not funny! Ruins the game for me.. =/ Discovered it by mistake when I doubleclicked on create artifact (I tend to doubbleclick sometimes, a habbit from some other game) and got 2 miniartifacts when I couldnt afford it, surprised, i tryed to sell them and back the rescourcces needed to create them normally.

Im playing 3,1 ToE.

Ofc this must be considered a cheat. Just try it out, totally broken bug.

As a consequence when me and some friends are going to play, the Academy fraction must ofc be forbidden, which also is a bad thing, cuz I kinda love Academy (imba early with Havoc AND late cuz of the miniartifacts).

My only hope is that this must be fixed with a patch asap (yeah yeah... I know.... Im living in a dream world).

Ok.... I just needed to tell someone about this...

Now secondly, though far less important, IMO it should be considered a bug that when the modes switches from simultaneous to turn-based player 2,3,4 ect... will get 100% movement back on all heroes (so the heroes can move and attack twice this turn) while (mark) player 1 doesnt recieve this benefit (his clock will just reset, not the heros movement points)... I hope ofc this too will be fixed, though this bug doesnt really breaks the whole game and isnt as that important
as bug no.1.

Though I think its unintentional and therefore a "bug", Im really not sure it matter much, becuz IMO player 1 get a some benfits for beeing player 1, chiefly beeing able to buy all units on day 1, send it through a chain of heroes to the main hero and then attack the other players main hero or city on day 1 BEFORE the other player is able to buy some of the units from that week.. Its a tiny bit broken that too... though you could do the same on homm3, and I really dont see any way around it, so it probably have to be like that =/


Ok then, else I havnt founded any more bugs, if I do, you'll probably hear from me.

Lastly, I kinda see it as a bug that if you have both the Travel Boots and Boots of Open Road you can get both bonuses if you end every turn with the Travel Boots and start every turn by switching to Boots of Open Roads. Though some1 else may not even see this as a bug, but Im just mentioning it...

Me and my mate were playing local network game with simultaneously turns. Which is a really good upgrade!  Suddenly a couple of hours out in the game, the simultaneously turns end. And we have to wait for each other playing.

Doesn Anyone know if this is a bug, or is the simultaneously turns meant to end after some time into the game?

I thought it happened when two heroes got within distance of one turn to eachother.

Problem on Hammers of Fate

I'm in the mission where Freyda declares the war against Isabel and try to left from the dwarves. But after I go to the Castle, and the movies appears, after that, it goes back to the map, but I can't do anything. It stays where the last image show the hero trying to get the dwarves and the only commands that works are hide the minimap, or see the missions, but all of the other buttons doesn't work, and I can move in the map, it stays there wich the clock going, like it is waiting for someone to finish they turn and nothing happens. I left for 10 minutes and it stays there. It can't even let me open the options menu, or nothing. I must do Alt+tab and close from windows. Y try to reload the last saves before going the castle, and do the way again and it is the same. I can't even do the secondary mission of the wolves, or anything else. I think after this video she can see the other parts of the map. But right now, I can't even move the hero. Any idea of what can be happening?

Random town bug

Whenever I try to play custom game, my town becomes just a gray circle and random town is written on it.. Can anyone help me fix this bug? the game crashes when I try to open the town..

Game crashes to main menu

Hello, i really hope soemthing good will come out of this,

i just bought this game and i am starting to really like it ( it's my first homm game).

The problem: On the first campain named "the queen" after conquering the 2nd town (ASHWOOD) the game returns to the MAIN MENU.

I have it patched to version 1.6 and i am running windows 7 with a very capable computer.

I also noticed that when it returns to the main menu it shows that the version is 1.5 altho before i loaded my save game it said 1.6....

I would be really glad if some1 has a sollutuon to this problem...

Cannot reconnect to LAN games 'You do not have save game'

I'm playing Tribes of the East on LAN with my friend. Twice now his computer has blue screened, disconnecting him from the game. The second time we had autosave enabled.

When I create the game and load it again, using the autosave, he cannot connect. It says that he does not have the save game file.

He does have the save game file.

Anyone know a fix? It's highly annoying!

Hi all,

Had a lot of help from this forum already with scripting bugs like heroes freezing, events that didn't pop up etc. Heroes V is a pretty exciting game but it is 100% unplayable if you don't read this forum.  I play with patch 1.6 on heroic on an xp station which easily meets the system requirements.

One thing still has me puzzled:

In lvl 5 of the Haven Mission "Fall of the King", also in lvl 3 of the necromancer "the Invasion" hiding a hero in a sanctuary crashes the game after ~3-4 weeks of play, np in the first few weeks.

I have seen someone posting this bug for the invasion, not fall of the king, is there some work around? I could finish "Fall of the King" without using the sanctuary but especially on "the invasion" that sanctuary is in a pretty convenient place  not being able to use is painful.

I still think i can win that level but if there's a solution that would be great.

Finally one other Q:

I have the 2 expansion packs, are they more stable than the initial release?

Has he tried sending you HIS autosave? Don't know what the problem is, usually when it says you don't have save it means opponent disconnected just before the autosave or something like that.

I can't say I remember, never had any issues there..

Hammers of Fate and Tribes of the East are a lot better in many ways, however I'd suggest that you get the latter. Basically what HoF offers are the dwarven faction and new campaigns but you can get both in TotE(HoF campaigns can be downloaded in TotE format). It also offers orcs, new spells, reworked skill system for more freedom, alternative upgrades amongst other things.

Irritating bug with an easy fix in TotE. In Zehir's mission 2: Tearing the Veil, dominating the 1st part of the map was easy. ( Find Priests, move town, Get Tear of Asha, etc.) but when I went to the ritual site, I got this message: " You are an awesome man, blah blah blah, now let's perform the rite!" Then, NOTHING happened. Nada. ( An Inferno army is SUPPOSED to gate in behind you at this point.) I tried for MONTHS ( game time!) to rectify this, thinking maybe I was in the wrong position, or I hadn't done something. No dice. UNFORTUNATELY, the way to fix this bug is to restart the entire mission!!

serious bug

I've been playing a multiplayer game on one computer and when I battle in my castle that stands on swamp (the necropolis battlefield), my game always crashes in about 6 minutes.... The battle I'm having is really long so it's quite difficult to end it quickly before the crash... Anyone can help? I have Heroes with the dwarves expansion. Thank you!

I don't know if it will solve the issue but it's worth a shot: try to install the patch.

TotE 3.1 bug

I've got a bug:When I open my map editor the current grass becomes extremely low detailed. I put some creatures and I save the map. Now I load it and the creatures too are very low detailed. I have this bug on my Win7 new computer and I didn't had it in my old XP computer,though the XP computer had a weaker graphic card.
I use TotE 3.1

A couple things seem to have changed over he years that I play Hom5 that I want to fix. I think they came with maps or something:

Ring of speed now goes into weapon slot instead of Ring slot.
Hrunting used to give +10 ak +10 def now only +2/+2
All elementals are now special type of elementals. dont remember he names but when the earth elemental dies he has a death animation of an earthquake.
Can I fix these things without reinstalling?

Those changes you got from mods. in D/L'd maps. I had the same thing happen. I reinstalled but you could try this; Make a new folder in "Fan Mods" and move all mods out of "M.E-HOMM Mod folder under the "Map Editor" folder". Then also do the same with the maps in the "map" folder by and moving those to "fan maps". That in theory, should elimate all files that the ME might load-up when you start it, since when you start it should show no maps to load. To test this; I'm trying to think of the fastest way to find out. Maybe make a tiny random map with two towns and then place all of the artefacts outside one town.

A warning. I made a mistake when re-installing I put all of those files on my desktop thinking I would plug them back in after re-loading. Any of the tiles taken out of the M.E. HOMM folder will have lots of files attached to each map and they will become quite large and "corrupted".(in my case anyway). Hopefully keeping them under the Editor file structure will work but I can't say it will. The file sytem in H5ME is problematic on sunny days.

Don't know if you've settled this already. I have Win7 and the same crap. I just always 'open a 'second map-same session' (the one I want to work on) and the surface is clear.
