Don't know about reverting to 1.5 but campaigns are full of bugs that happen at random times. 1.0 was supposed to be the buggiest version yet but I never encountered a bug there You could try to replay the mission or just cheat to reach the next one.

Sounds like an issue with the dialog scenes. Reinstalling the game might or might not help.

You could also try to download the campaigns and install them as a mod. Should be available at Age of Heroes if I remember correctly.

I've got HoMM 5 TotE Installed from the bundle, have the mod which enables the campaigns from the other HoMM 5 games and the skills/perks of my Godric got so messed up. I started playing for a little while the necro campaign because that is what I didn't finished before and the mod enables to start any of the campaigns, but I kinda remembered and checked that Godric also gets played in the first campaign, so instead of starting with him from lvl 1 at C3M2 I made sure to level him up in C1M5. I assume I reached lvl 21 with him which is over the level cap of C3M2 and than he got messed up. He is lvl 10, but have the following skills: Advanced Counterstrike, Expert Defence, Basic Attack, Basic Leadership and some level of Light Magic. There is a white square in place of the light magic skill and when I hower over it, the only tooltip description I get is about what it enables. The perks he have are Benediction, Tactics, Protection, Evasion, Vitality, Master of Blessing, Master of Abjuration, Master of Wrath, Recruitment, Estate, (but just basic in leadership as I listed).
Even when I complete C1M5 again with him being only lvl 20 this time, it didn't update, so I'm still looking for a solution.

Once the map scripts are messed you have to restart the map.
Just make Godrick low enough level and start the map again.

Hizsoo this is not a bug. Godric can reach level 24 in C1M5, and when we play him in C3M2 has level 10, because C3M1 has level 10 cap, but he don't loose Skills or stats. So can be a level 34 in two maps.

It looks like this
Godric reach level 24(level cap) in final Haven Mission
He is carry over to C3M1 with his stats and skills(he maybe lowered to level 10, because he chase us in Inferno Chapter)
C3M2 you start with both lvl 10 heroes Godric(he is still level 24) and Markal.

When you level him to level 20 in C3M2 he has actually level 34 in real(24 in Haven + 10 in Necro).

It is same with Findan in Zehir campaign when his level is lowered to 25 but still has his stats, skills and spells.

I care more about skill development than about stats (Endgame Fantasy)
So if I understand correctly, I need to level him only to lvl 10 in C1M5 for this to work properly.
I don't want to also fail this with Findan. I will play the C5M1/2/3 with him (lvl cap: 24), than start C6M1.
As listed in the CelestialHeavens C6M4 walkthrough (https://www.celestialheavens.com/563) it works differently in other versions. Findan's skills remain untouched, but he gains no skills until he reaches the level again that he was on at the ending of C5M5.

Edit: I created a new profile, started C3M1 and wanted to shortcut my way with cheats, but I found a better solution. I have access to the console and if I type a command which doesn't exist/ completely invalid, than the help command is suggested to be used.
The unlearn_skill command is not even a cheat, as far as I understand and it still costs the required amount of gold, the same as what the Memory Mentor would ask for.
I tried it now, and I was unable to unlearn multiple skills at the same time with the command.

Hey, I don't know if this is the correct thread, but since I can't start my own (not enough posts) I decided to post here.

I got around the playing the vanilla campaigns again and I noticed the AI behaves really strangely, because it ALWAYS flees when your army is larger, even in scripted fights (like the inferno attacks in C1M5 and the first encounter with Gilraen in C2M3). While that is exactly how they should behave in custom maps, I thought campaigns made it so they can't flee (it never happened before when I played the campaign ~6 years ago on an older version). It really kills the fun of the game for me when I can't slaughter the entire enemy army and can't get the XP from it (I couldn't even reach the XP cap in a couple of missions because of that). Is this a bug, and if not, is there any way to prevent them from fleeing (a mod perhaps?).

Another thing, in C2M2 I couldn't reach the level cap before the final fight with the demon army, and I gained a level when I defeated it, but it immidiately triggered the cutscene and didn't allow me to pick a new skill, so I'm 1 skill short right now.

I'm using the GoG version right now which is (presumably) the latest version. Any help is appreciated.

My HoF is 2.1
My TotE is 3.1

I'm playing the vanilla campaign right now so that would be 1.60

There is a relic artefact "Shackles of the last man" that prevents fleeing from combat.

The thing is, you don't have the shackles in any of these campaigns, so unless there is a cheatcode to recieve them, I don't see how they would help. (is there such a cheatcode by the way?)

Look up the mod for TotE on moddb.com that enables the campaigns from vanilla and HoF. That might be the best experience you can get out of HoM&M 5 right now.
If that still doesn't help, than you should look up the cheat sectios, enable the console, bind the console to F12 (because that way it works for sure) than use this command: @GiveArtifact("Name", 7);
In the slot for the name in the command, you need to type the in development name of the hero you want to give the artifact and "7" stands for the Shackles of the Last Man". You don't need to type the quotation marks, just some comma and a semicolon at the end.
