Did you face any demon army, red player from the south? There should be 3 in total, arriving when you own 2, 4, and 6 cities. Anyways, either type @Win(), or restart with the latest patch installed. Patch 1.2 solved me a similar problem in C6M3.

Do you mean Raelag's build? He already starts with 2 fixed, so you can pick 4 more.

I played this campaign twice on heroic, and my personal favorite (my 2nd build) is Destructive, Sorcery, Enlightenment, and Light.

yes i meant that.. but, don't you think luck is important?

Luck is handy in the last mission, where Raelag's black dragon does 10X more damage than his best spell. However, if you follow the Destructive + Sorcery route, in mission 3 and 4 you hardly need any army even on heroic, hence no use for luck!

As of patch 1.2, Warlock's Luck only applies to regular spells, not the empowered (1.5X damage) version. Since warlock's luck does not trigger 50% of the time, in average it has a lower damage output then empowered spell.

Therefore, warlock's luck is completely garbage, making Luck a "nice to have, but not really help a lot" skill for Raelag. I'd rather trade it for something that really helps in all 5 missions.

Well, I do not know too... It is the same useless spell as in the last 4 HM&M. Maybe you could use it in a battle that you want to finish fast and you do not care how many troops wou will have after the battle (like the last one of a scenario when you thrown all you have got to crush your enemy).

what the spell "armageddon" does...

Yeah this spell sucks in the campaign because you are always up against a larger, but much more stupid foe. However, in MP it might give you a nice shot at killing your human opponent's key hero before he got a chance to flee! Also, with fire resistance (feat or artifact) and protection (defense) your unit will suffer less damage from the spell, making it a 2-edged sword, with a not-so-sharp edge towards yourself.

yup totally agree.. but couldn't it also be like this, if you want to weaken your enemy before a huge battle, you can fight him with your hero with a tiny tiny army? ofcourse you will lose, but you can do big damage on the opponent with armageddon? or what do you think?

Yeah in MP this might work. However, campaign AIs aren't usually that threantening. I would save the trouble and just run it over with the main hero. (The experience required to level up another hero to learn expert Destructive and to have decent spell power could have all gone to the main hero.)

If you've visted all obelisks your puzzle map should be cleared of obstacles. Try to plot out some extremely long paths with your hero, and see if your hero's planned trail shows up on the puzzle map. If yes then you know where to look for it.

I'm having problems with mission 2. After looking for the obelixs I gave up on the last and dug from what I already knew. I found the tear. Built the statue in the town and got a cut-sene then nothing? I decided to attack all the towns and got joined another hero and then I killed everyone and it got me to a cut-sene about attacking some clan. But where and how and ? ? ? is this a bug or am I missing something big?

Is there any objective that you have not completed? Did you get the girl to join you? If some messengers run away, did you defeat the yellow hero that shows up? Did you build the tear back in your starting town?

Mission 5 Walkthrough

I just completed this and had read through the other Mission 5 walkthroughs.  Thank you thank you for the awesome posts that were definitely a huge help to me.

It seems apparently there are various ways of completing this mission, but it presents many logistical problems.  So here is yet another recount of a completed mission - including two errors I made which could be avoided.

1) FIRST GARRISON: Raelag takes all the troops and conquers first garrison, no problem.

2) TENT KEYS: Raelag goes south to take the blue tent key, and north where there is a sanctuary to get the red key.  Here is a mistake: the blue key is not necessary to win this mission.  Shadya can pick up gold and sulfur that's available, as there are three forthcoming Dungeon Outposts with one dragon per week, if you want to use them.

3) GOING UNDERGROUND: Raelag AND Shadya go underground at this point.  Take the nothernmost gate/staircase, near the sanctuary.

The underground here is shaped like a C.  Your initial position is going to be at the top of the curve.  If you go around the C to the lowest curve point, there will be a monolith that will take you to the northwest parts of the underground.  All of that is unecessary to win.

Go to the very center of the C.  To the left, if you want it, is your first Dungeon Military Post with one dragon a week.

Go to the south of the C.  There is a road there that heads west.  On that road is another dragon outpost.  Follow the road all the way west.  There's a blue hero standing there.

4) ATTACK IDLE BLUE HERO (ALASTOR):  He might have a different name, but he will be an idle inferno hero.  Raelag attacks and defeats him.

5) GOING ABOVEGROUND: The inferno hero you just attacked was blocking an entryway to a passage south.  With him out of the way, take Raelag south.  There is your third dragon outpost.  (All these dragon outposts give Shadya something to do, but this is your last chance to give whatever she has accumulated to Raelag.)  Then you will see the stairway/gate leading aboveground.

6) SECOND GARRISON/JOURNEY WEST: You will come up by a hill fort. (Want to upgrade dragons?  Got cash?) At left, take the garrison, not difficult.

Head west along a dirt road, past a gold mine.  Enjoin the main road slightly north.  Keep heading west.  Watch your timing with GRAWL.  If you time it right, you will avoid him altogether.  If you can't avoid him, go back to an earlier save before coming up.

7) THIRD GARRISON: That's right, do not bother with the Inferno town.  Just go west to the garrison on the far southwest corner.  Mission objective, right?  One key thing, Shadya has to go through this garrison as well.  Take the garrison, again, not a hard one.  Then see that Shadya safely traverses the road and have her go through where Raelag is waiting.

8) MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - Remember your battle was always with Veyer, not with Grawl.

NOTES:  Looks like without the 1.1 patch you can get the spell Instant Travel or some such spell, the new Dimension Door.  The scenario is very different then.  What I've described above is with the 1.1 patch installed.

The towns are not worth taking, and are unecessary to mission

STATS:

RAELAG:  Level 28.  16A, 12D, 32SP, 21K.  Enlightenment, Intelligence, Scholar, Empowered Spells, Expert Destructive, Boots of the Swift Journey.

52 Deep Hydras
26 Matriarchs
47 Min. Guards

Chain Lightning for strings of four.  Dragon and Hydras wipe out whatever makes it to your side of the battlefield, where they lay in wait. Matriarchs using slow or attacking outright.

FYI, VEYER: Level 24, 12A, 5D, 6SP, 10K.

9 Arch Devils
20 Fire Elementals
70 Cerberus
400 Familiar
30 Nightmares

122 Pit Lords
520 Succ. Mistresses

One other note, this thread mentions "who Raelag is" - yes, when you bring that up I can see exactly what - WHO - you mean

I find out that there is a hero will chase you around once you go up to the ground in Mission Five. He has a quit large army and I spend quite a long time to clear him up - wiht big loss in the first time and minimum loss in second time. You may avoid him but you need to act quickly. I guess his target is Raelag instead of Shadya. Hence when you go up to ground, try to concentrate all your army to Raelag and defeat the Demon Hero.

I got a problem with mission 4 (yes, four). I killed red hero and got his key, but I´m not able to get back to red gate. It is not possible to just use the same path as I went into dungeon (reverse way), because some portals are sending me to different location. I ´m lost next to stables. Can anybody help?

You will win the game after you bring anyone of your heros to the gate after you got the key. Hence my suggestion is simply command your heros by pressing your mouse on the gate. Most of time they will find the way automatically.

In some cases, more than two portals are linked. In those cases, as far as I know, the game randomly picks one to send you off to. I suggest to keep trying portals and see where you end up. Also, explore whatever dungeon parts you have access to, to try and find other portals.

In fact, you have to be agressive to win this mission. So when you have the second castle and everybody keeps sending you armies, buy a hero to protect the second castle (you should have kept the female hero (I do not remenber her name) in your first castle), defeat the Demon hero and then do attack another castle with your main hero (that I do not remember his name too...). With enhanced meteor shower, you should be able to defeat any army in this mission.
