Unless those were the last minutes of a non-important game with a score 3:0 or more, I would beat the s**t out of the goalie if I was on his team.

I still think it's boring.

I can't stand a game which you can play for however long it goes for, and there might be one or two or three scores maximum, and it normally comes down to the last few minutes where one guy kicks the ball at the goalie to decide the match.

Why don't they just cut the game which just wastes time and go straight to the striker and the goalie?

Whole world cup over in a few days. Too easy.

why dont they do that you ask???

cause then you could be a pro TA, and then everyone would know something is very very wrong

i dont know why i find it interesting. it just is to me. so many possibilities. i remember a commentator saying "in football anything can happen, and it often does". great thing about it is that there are usually only 1 or 2 goals seperatiing the 2 teams. 1 mistake or 1 moment of brilliance can change the match

edit: was looking through some pics

guy below looks like he is practicing his air guitar routine

i dont know what this is

You should prolly watch some more games, then your opinion will prolly change. Where does it say 3 scores maximum?
And only because a score in American Football counts 6 (7 with extra kick), a game which ends 14-7 is still nothing else than 3 scores.
And i saw many Baseball matches lately on NASN. I do like it, but this game has way too many "breaks" (times where nothing happens). This for sure would be boring to watch if it has only 3 scores every time. Even American Football has many many breaks, thatīs why it normaly lasts about 3 hours to finish a game. Football (soccer) has way lesser breaks, way more tackles, and there is always action...from left to right...and back...like hockey...but way bigger field. So itīs just more exciting to watch than Baseball. I also saw the reactions of the crowd during a baseball match....the only reaction comes, when the ball is hit....every other time itīs completely quiet.

5 weeks....how long do olympic games last?
And all the teams have to qualify for that WC during a 2 year lasting period. Out of about 175 nations all over the world, only 32 can participate.
Every team has to play about 20 matches, before it is qualified for the WC.
The first qualifying game for the USA was on 08/19/2004 vs Jamaica, and the last one was 10/13/2005 vs Panama.
The Worldchampionship itself is similar to your "Play-offs" in Basketball, Football or Hockey.

You may call your seasons "Worldcup", but they are nothing else than a national league with some canadian teams.
I remember the last Worldchampionship in Baseball short time ago....where Japan and Cuba ruled....
But iīm pretty sure, no foreign teams could compete in American Football, Basketball or even Hockey with the northamericans, coz they are way too strong.
Itīs a pitty though, the Hockey Worldchampionship and also the Olympic Wintergames take place the same time the Stanley-Cup postseson is played. Otherwise, the best players would be available for each nation, and we would have a more tough competition between Canada, Sweden, Russia and USA.....

I don't really watch American football either..

A goal in AFl is worth 6, and a point worth 1, but then the scores aren't 18-0 in a slaughter match, (3-0 would be a slaughter match in soccer, no?) they are more like

Saturday 20 May 2006

Collingwood 22. 14. (146) def. Geelong 6. 8. (44) at  M.C.G.  7:10pm AEST

And are great to watch.

But then can also be high scoring on both teams, and very close games are even better. It's just opinion I guess.
