Stuck on homm4 - the gathering storm

Okay I hope this is where I need to be because I am so close to the end of Homm 4:The Gathering Storm and I am stuck. I am on The final Showdown and have to beat the hexis. I have cleared everything and still have no idea what to do from there. It says I have to defeat the hexis which I assume is the red hero next to the garrison but I have played this four times and changed things a little each time and cannot defeat him. Am I missing something? I used to visit portals of might and magic and they had walkthroughs that got me past many of my problems but they are apparently gone and all the info with them. I love the Heroes games and have played 1-4 all the expansions and the four little stand alones. I want to get homm5 but I want to finish all of four and its expansions first. If anybody can help or if they know where the info from portals may be I would be forever gratefull
