H5 Printable Reference Guides

To fill the void left by both the H5 manual, which is clearly lacking many info, and the in-game descriptions, also really too scarce, we are now offering you printable reference guides.

Those aim at the same quality that we strive for in all the Age of Heroes pages, but are meant as their easy-to-print, in-game reference counterparts. Because alt-tabbing in and out of the game is not something everyone would want or afford, we felt that having those handy and accurate manuals was really needed, and we ought to you to create them. So here you are:
http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/heroes5/printable_reference_guides.shtml

You will already find Skills and Creatures references guides, with everything from skills requirement to plan your heroes development, to the much needed creature abilities descriptions. Don't expect much graphical documents, as we tried hard to keep them lightweight and easy-to-print. And of course, we are open to your feedback and suggestions.

In fact, that's the very reason of this thread, besides offering support for any problem you might have.
For example, I included an explanation on how to print booklets, illustrated with some photos. Feel free to ask questions if you're having problems with that, especially since the exact procedure depends so much on your printer driver.

Thanks to all for the appreciation! I'll try to keep deserving it then.

@GrrBrr: Actually, the pdf files are generated through PHP, like the shtml webpages, and get their information directly from the game files. That means all I need to make german versions are the german texts.pak, which I should have on my european super collector DVD.
Of course, not included in those texts are the creature abilities comments (those in italics), that I added myself. Those would need to be translated by hand. Also, there may be some glitches in the official texts (I fixed a number of them in english). So if you're ready to help, you could translate those comments, and/or proof-read the document drafts for spelling mistakes.
Also, I would need the translation of the documents titles ("Skill List", ...).
I can't promise you anything, but I should be able to make them in the next few days. If you're willing to help, just HCM me your e-mail.

All that stays valid for any other languages. I won't be making them without someone (kindly) asking for them. First, because I don't have that much time. And second because I would need a translator anyway. Also, I would need the texts.pak file for any language not present in the european edition.

The guides have been updated with 1.1 data.

That doesn't mean many changes, so if you printed it already, here's what changed:
== Creatures ==
- the magi, vampire and vampire lord icons have been updated,

== Skills ==
- Elemental Vision (Elemental Chains):
"Allows Warlock to see elements on enemy creatures and Destructive Magic spells."
- Boneward (Sorcery):
"Damage inflicted by any Destructive Magic spells to all troops under Necromancer's command is reduced by 20%."
- Silent Stalker (Logistics):
"The enemy will see only the strongest creature in hero's army with no number at all. Also this ability allows to see courage of neutral monsters and enlarges hero's field of view by 12 tiles."
- Wall of Fog (Summoning Magic):
"The Hero..." (instead of "The Ranger...")

Ive noticed a lot of weird thing in HoMM 5 that are different from previous homms you would classfy as miscelaneous. Such as I saw 80 imps classified as a horde.

Horde: 50-99

It's the same in HoMM3 as well.

I made printable checklists for getting heroes with their ultimate abilities.

Demon Lord
Knight
Necromancer
Ranger
Warlock
Wizard

My brother has already used two of these printouts and he likes them. Hope you find them to be useful.

RTI, thanks for sharing.

Did you notice, however, that in the Faction Skill Cards pdf, the skills required for the absolute ability are underlined?
A quick glance should then give that exact info.

I did not know that. However, my brother and are the kind who like to have written notes instead of having to keep changing programs, so I probably would have made something like this even if I had known. thks anyway.

FANTASTIC JOB!

These guys just don't know how much I was logging on here for references. The prima guide is horrid (based on the beta version of the game). I'll never buy another guide from them again.

Too bad versus books went out of business. They made the best guides.

Good jorb!
This will prbly come in handy

But I think on page 44 and 45 of the coloured screen version (didn't check the others) the label next to the Counterstrike icon is mistakenly "Basic Gating".
Not with all of the heroes though...
Small error, just thought it would be something to correct if there was ever to come a next edition

Ok, it seems we're getting undue praise here...
Ziltard, you're obviously referring to Celestial Heaven's Unofficial Manual, which is really nicely done. The praise should go to Gaidal Cain, Robenhagen and Pitsu for this.
You're right, it does contain its fair share of misprints and mistakes. They're working on them and have a list there. It's far from complete, but it's something.

Just to be clear, the printable guides I'm referring to in this thread are those available on this page:
http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/heroes5/printable_reference_guides.shtml
They are (really) meant for printing. And of course, we have (a lot of) work underway.
