I thinkk the goblins have been replaced by trolls... at least trolls are the closest thing to them.

Griffins sre back
The griffins are probably back and they will probably be in the Preserve town as 3rd level flyers. I wonder what will their special ability be? Maybe it will have very good morale? Who knows?

The waspwort may be a dwelling for wasps. I remember I saw somewhere (perhaps a rumor) there will be wasp-warriors in H4.
There are still some creatures nobody talks about : Ice Demons & Seamonsters. They have a strange look : Seamonsters don’t really look like monsters, but like fishes.
Other creatures have graphics which could be improved :
- Harpies
- Beholders
- Behemoths
- Pixies (were so cute in AB)
What happened to them all?
These one are well maid (for me) :
- Skeletons (but what the hell is this ridiculous sword in their “hand” ?)
- Peasants (are well maid)
- Champions & Haven units in general...
- Ghosts
- Nightmares (they could be THE good surprise of H4)
I just HATE Venom Spawn, Golem Dragons & Mantis.
Let’s make a Fighting Squadron against them !!!...

Ah, yes, you got that at Dungeon Keeper. But it is not so.
Waspworts are plants that shoot out poisonous needles at enemies. im thinking that maybe they will be immobile, cuz i cant imagine them moving.

I agree. I love the ice demons, and they are predicted as being L3 neutral. Sea monster i think will be L4.

I join your squadron too.
I would kick bugs and plants out of this game.
But the Ice demon is pretty cool, so far, we should see how it moves; mummies in h3 were cool too, but thei walk was horrible.
The sea monster is a monster of ugliness.They could have done better about it's looks.
P.S. Vampire and pyrate are not wanted in those suits. I say change them.

I think it is good to have new creatures as well as old creatures in h4.
The mantis looks good.
The white tiger is also a nice addition.
But remmeber this, the creatures we are seeing will be reduced in the gameplay and there is still the animation for them.
You might be saying that some look crap but, they might move and act quite differently even with their special ability.
From what i have seen it looks like some of the creatures are mixture of heroes 1, 2 and 3 together with some new features.
To me that is not a bad thing to do.
PS the vampire looks very nice, sort of classy looking.

I don't care how the vampire move or their special ability.
Classy is one thing and good is something else. Heroes creatures begin to look like the silly pictures in the storybooks for small children.
Change the vampire !

Yes, i agree, but the Vampires aren't the worst i've seen them. I hated the Vampire Lords in HoMM3. Shocking if you ask me. I especially didn't like their heads. I loved it how the vampires could turn into a bat when they fly. I hope this ability is kept for Heroes of Might and Magic IV.
Although, the vampire is definitely not the only 'bad' looking creature, whatever is your meaning of bad. The Venom Spawn has been one of my disappointment. I would have expected something like the Ice Demon has produced, with sharp ends, especially if its a shooter.
I'm really not sure if people here know this, but there are still 3 creatures left to reveal. Any guesses on what they may be?

I'm afraid they excluded the lich, since they turned it into a hero...that's so bad...about the others I haven't heard a word or seen a picture....I would like very much to revive at least the pegasi...they are real cool stuff.
As about the Venom spawn, I still don't get it how they could choose this one over other hundreds of creatures waiting in line....pirates and sea monsters are good ideas but still I don't like thir images...

Yes, goblins should be back, maybe with their looks from h2, they were cool as indians...
And gorgon too, really strong character there...
As about pegasi, I've said it not once, they are a must for the game

do you really think they will bring back pegasi? i mean, i know we all want them back, but... do you really think 3DO will add them as a neutral?
same goes with gnolls.
i feel that we will almost certainly see a new strongholdish creature. right now, on my projected creature list, i have harpy in that L2 spot, but honestly, i think we will get a new creature instead. perhaps a goblin that can shoot? (since we need a shooter or a flyer, and can't have a walker)
what do you think a new stronghold creature might be?

About the stronghold, I'd say a flyer...which one I don't know...since the thunderbird is something quite different from what we've seen in h3, perhaps a kind of roc...
And about the gnolls...I don't know, I never really liked them...they remind me of pure dogs...nothing special.

Hi sorry for going back to the dragon golem fiasco but I had to say it. Ive been a big fan of heroes for a long time, and i could'nt help reading your articles (They r really good), especially on the DRAGON GOLEM at first my thoughts were get rid of it but now that Ive thought about more I believe that its okay if it wasn't mech or so bad looking (how ugly is that thing I mean...). In my opinion it should be a magic golem like the stone or iron golem of HOMM3 something magical not mechanical. Id like to it as a metal draconic statue without wings that walks around obliterating everything now that would be cool I hope u guys agree!

I agree with shaowmoon. the dragon golem looks like a good artist design. But I agrre a more traditional feel to this creature would have been to put it as a dragon golem or as a dragon statue.
Maybe they can change the design before the game is launched, since they are testing it.

I agree with Shaowmoon and Grythandril. First I didn't know how looked the dragon golem, and I had nothing about it. I think it should be a stone dragon, a real statue animated by magic.
For my suggestions, I forgot dendroids, thanks preserver to remind it to me.
I am not sure the stronghold need another flyer, the haven too has only one flyer on l4.

now that i have played homm3 and seen some homm4 graphics, i finally realize how good homm2 really was. i even think that homm3 graphics was just more attractive (at least at first), but not as well thought out as homm2 graphics. what's this attitude change about? i mean, imho it has some special atmosphere mainly because of the details, and that was quite unique and difficult to copy. is homm loosing some of it's uniqueness?
