I've got ideas for two new creatures!

1. Argos or Guardian of Io. A hovering blob that can shoot acid and kill enemies with one shot (can only use this special attack once in battle.)

2. Automaton. Metal statues that have a powerful attack. They are good in groups because they can heal each other.

I've got some ideas. Look:

Piasa Bird: predecessor of Roc (not upgraded to Roc)
Giant Bird that eats people. It could have unlimited retaliation, two attacks.

Dryad: predecessor of Hamadryad
Woman made from water. It could have 100% more ranged and melee defence, immune to Cold, spellcaster.

I'll say some of my other ideas afterwards.

hmm.. a woman made from water could be upgraded to a woman made of fire. and all this mess with water, fire, and the philosopher's stone is based on libido, as far as i have heard of alchemy.

the homm4 pentagram system.. would be interesting to know how they interpreted it, unless it was a complete farce, of course.

Here is some creature ideas. If they are mentioned before somewhere (or have been in heroes 3)this post can be deleted.

lvl.3 Vikings fierce sea fighters. Very strong in sea. But not weak in the land either. It could have twice better attack in the ship than in the land and it could have good attack in the land so it would be very good attack in the sea. Only - to them could be berserk. They could not be controlled during battle.

lvl.2.Legionnaire (Soldiers like in Roman empire.)
Skilled soldiers with swords and shields. Very good close combat fighters. They could have some bonuses in battle. If they were in great numbers like if there were 100 legionnaires their defence could increase and that is because they can help each pther in fight. And if there were 500 of them their defence and attack would grow. There were so much of them that  they could help each other of them in attack and in defence. But in that big numbers there should be - to them battle movement. And they could have special defence ability. If you push defence button they could go to defensive position like "turtle" Shields could defence all of them. And that could be only if there were enough of legionnaires.

lvl.1 Tavern recruit weak and slow human but could be uppgraded to soldier that has a better attack than normal creatures but a bit weaker in defence and there it could be uppgraded to general that could give morale and attack skill (because he could command creatures to use environment to their advance) to other creatures in army and it could have a attack better than lvl.2 creatures and it could have same defence than weakest lvl.2.

lvl.1 Dark humans. Not so powerful creatures but cheap and fast creatures. They could be in berserk in battle(because they are reaved all the time).

lvl.5 Handster. This creature lives in big pot that are filled with liquid ooze that has hands in it. Because of that it has 5 hands. It has have multi attack. So it can attack any direction. It has very good attack and defence. And is very fast.

Here's an idea: You can use a spacific artifact and a spacific creature to creat a more powerful creature.
EXAMPLE:
Fire Elemental + Tome of Fire = Solar Magi

If this idea was suggested before consdier the above deleted.

Some other ideas:

Wind Dragon:
HP: 340
Dmg: 80-100
Attack: 70
Defense: 70
Description: Light grey, I guess. Not the scary dragon, but not the nice one.
Note: Attack effects two spaces. The target if the farther away from the dragon space is empty the target would be blown over there ("Whirlwind" ability). Wind Dragon is immune to magic.

What? I godda give Styq something-->   Lizzardman Witch Doctor:
HP: 80
Dmg: 0
Attack: 0
Defense: 30
Description: Put a funky hat and some more ritualistic stuff on Styq and you got your man.... Lizzard-man.
Abilities: Immune to magic, Destroy Magic, Heal, & Fireblast Potion.

Fireblast Potion: Powerful potion which deals great dmg to 7 spaces on the battlefield. The Potion costs no mana and takes 1 round to regenerate.



Hippogryph Rider:
HP: 120
Dmg: 30-55
Attack: 40
Defense: 35
Description: The hippogryph is brown (horse and back feathers). The rider is equipped with two curved swords and is lightly armored.
Abilties: Double Dmg, Retreat (like the Harpy or whatever)

It wasn't exactly my idea; I thought it out of ideas I heard before like melding two units, or melding a hero with a unit.

I just got another idea. This idea is for a unique dwelling. Mercenary Matchmaker:
This buidling let's you hire a creature according to your hero's base class.

KNIGHT HERO (Life Might) - Instead of selling a unit, the Mercenary Matchmaker will offer to upgrade the hero's Swordsmen and Crusaders into Paladins, providing them with holy power and greater stregnth.

CLERIC HERO (Life Magic) - The Mercenary Matchmaker will offer Exercists. Exercists have powerful ranged attacks against Death creatures and some spells.

LORD HERO (Order Might) - The Mercenary Matchmaker will offer Gold and Diamond Golem upgrades.

WIZZARD HERO (Order Magic) - They will be offered Majin units. Does anybody here can remind what a Majin is? I forgot.....

GENERAL HERO (Barabrian) - They get Trolls, duh!

RANGER HERO (Nature Might) - Satyrs, which are pretty weak and useless, and Elven Uncicorn Riders - elves riding a unicorn equipped with a lance.

DRUID HERO (Nature Magic) - The Mercenary Matchmaker will offer him the elementals of nature.

WARLORD HERO (Chaos Might) - Chimeara, A monstrosity with a lion's body, a snake's tale, and a goat's head. And if they don't go in a town, Trogoldytes.

SORCEROR HERO (Chaos Magic) - Evil Eyes, I just can't think of anything better.

DEATH KNIGHT HERO (Death Might) - The Mercenary MAtchmaker will offer to VERY expensively upgrade some Death Knights or Dread Knights into Apocalypse Horsemen.

NECROMANCER HERO (Death Magic) - Mummies here.

BEASTMASTER HERO (xXx Might) - Cockalisk. It's supposed to be a chicken with the tale of a snake, but I got something better: a giant sharp-beaked chicken with reptalian feet and tale. Not too strong though;

WITCH HERO (xXx Magic) - The Mercenary Matchmaker will offer to upgrade Lizzardmen into Lizzardmen Witch Doctors.

DEMONIAC HERO (Darkness Might) - The Mercenary Matchmaker will offer Ravegers; they look like regular peasents except for very sharp teeth and two horns. There is blood all over their clothes from their slaughter, they are equipped with two scythes and are immune to magic. They can later be upgraded into Reapers.

HERETIC HERO Darkness Magic) - You get to hire Fire Golems.

We have Water elemental, Fire elemental and rock elemental why we don't have Sand elemental or Snow elemental Sand elemental could have great movement on batlle field and adventure map if there is sand because it can melt itself to sand and move in it. And samething with Snow Elemental with snow. It could be that elementals could have bonuses on their own land not only movement bonuses but like Fire elemental could command more fire in volcanic terrain and Snow elemental could do a bigger and heavier fist if snow that lies in the ground and sometimes snow can be very very heavy. So you could take advance in terrain you have.

Regnus_khan is showing up a good and commendable behaviour, whereas what you recommend "painful insults" is the road towards penalties and posts deleted by the moderator.

I've seen some posts by you aiming in this direction (painful insults) already. Cease and desist this activity immediately, or you'll get one angry moderator to deal with.

Not too good idea. Sorry, I don't like it (if you want me to be all "little suzzy" style) but Sand Phantom unit can be nice. I don't think giving you an advantage for units is smart.



Anyway, some more ideas:


Fire Dragon: This is sorta of a combo between Phoenix and a Dragon. It's regular Dragon made of fire.
HP: 400
Dmg: 90-150
Attack: 80
Defense: 70
Ability: Summon Fire Elemental
Cost: 15000 gold, 2 mercury, 3 sulfur


Phantom: Teleporting unit. Black ropes all over him.
HP: 100
Dmg: 50-65
Attack: 55
Defense: 50
Abilities: Reancarnation (Self revival)
Cost: 800 gold, 1 Mercury

The following proposal about the new towns and creatures for homm5 is constructed after much research and consideration. i tried to include every mythological creature i’ve heard of and i think is suitable for heroes (and most are). Creatures that look alike are replaced with one creature which is more popular. there are 11 towns, each with 11 critters (2 towns with 12). They are arranged according to their level, but not very precisely. i’m open for comments. ok, here we go:

Description: Kinda like a swordsman; but with a long sword in one hand, and an axe at the other. Battle Champions are immune to spells, and can self-heal.

Champion of Light
Attack: 100
Defense: 130
HP: 200
Description: Kinda like a crusader with glowing light around him. His sword is very long. Chamions of Light are immune to spells. They can cast Mass Bless. They can self-heal and are an upgrade of the Battle Champion.

Champion of Darkness
Attack: 130
Defense: 100
HP: 200
Description: Kinda like the HOMM3 Dreadknight but not mounted, has a black shield in one hand, and a huge axe at the other. Champions of Darkness are immune to spells. They can cast Mass Curse. They can self-heal and are an upgrade of the Battle Champion.

Defense: 30
HP: 40
Description: Heavily armored human with greek style clothing and armoring, a round metal shield, and a long spear.

Have only played Heroes III, but one thing I missed was actual orc infantry, (spearmen, flail or scimitar armed possibly), not just missile units.

Mechanical City

How about some dark city like citys from Thief II:The Metal Age?There would be dark magic but also a tehnology.If anyone played Thief he knows what I'm talking about.
Dark nights and a mechanical look...As for creatures,maybe Mechanical Golem,some dark mage,special siege equipment,
thieves(who have poison melee attack as well as ranged bow attack) and so on...
Mechanical dust around the city(don't know what status wil it give)?
This is just a core thinking.The rest is to be discovered.
