Check for upgrades

I was a little bored this morning and ended up deciding I'd visit the HoMM web page. So I went to click the link on the Program Menu and was surprised to find a button in the Ubisoft/HoMMV menu listing called "Check for Updates". When you click this it starts the "UpgradeLauncher" which checks for updates for the game. When I clicked it, it first did an update to itsself or set itsself up or something and made the check. It also shows which version of the game you have.

Like most of you I imagine, I launch the game from either the desktop or inserting the CD so I never go into the actual game menu on the Program Menu. Apparently the patch added this feature which I have to applaude UBI on cause it means you can get future patches without having to go through Fileplanet or those other money grubbers. Anyway, I hadn't heard anyone else mention anything about this so I thought I'd bring it to the attention of those who may not have noticed like I didn't at first.

indeed must game companies now have patch installers for their games, its quite a common thing.  Even homm4 3do had it I think...
