I was wondering if there is a cheat for things like dark and rage points and so on? Like refreshing dark points so that can convert more undead, or rage points to survive battles better?

i right click the icon of heroes and select open file location, and i select profiles there i find start.cfg file when i edit the specific file i'm not allowed too save because the name is incorrect or incorrect path. Then it pops the file name and path, when i change the path then it asks if i want too overrite the other start file then i click save then the same error comes again. When i change the file location then i have no permission too save in that location, when i click okay then it asks if i want too save in documents but that doesn't have any effect.

The file is located in the install folder, which by default is in Programs. Under Vista, you cannot modify files there without administrator privileges. My first guess is that it's what's happening to you: Vista complains because you're trying to save a file without the rights to do it.

i checked the read-only and changed it but then it comes, this file is set too read only try again with a diffrent name.
please somebody help me.

enabeling cheats
Having problems!!!
Im trying to get the cheat console on tribes of the east.
Ive updated the input_a2 file in my games and the start file in programfiles\ubisoft\heroes of mightand magicV - Tribes of the east\profile folder..... but to no avail the console does not appear when i press the ` or the f12 key when i set them i think iam doing something wrong?????
Is there anyone that has an in detail answer for me......
btw i am using vista

Try the file located in "\Documents and Settings\YourName\My Documents\My Games\Heroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East\Profiles\YourProfileName". This is under XP however, but I doubt the location is different for Vista.

enabeling cheats
The file is the same and ive changed it. the file in the install folderwont let me edit so i have to move it toanother folder to do so then i put it back....... but still nothing .it is pretty frustrating.any help would be greatly appreciated. until then ill keep looking at this thread and try try again.

SWaMP: Vista won't let you edit a file in Programs/ without administrative rights. You should log in under the administrator account (or maybe you can raise your rights temporarily), and then it will let you replace the file.

still nothing.... if you could tell me in detail where you put the new lines in the cfg files and etc.. i am very much stumped and ive read everything on this thread

thanks man i went through and set administer priv. changed files from read only and bined key num_enter and oh my frikin god it worked yessssssssssssss!

Skullman.. I did the Num_enter thing also and it worked after a million tries. I to couldn't find what was binding the ` key????

Yes, it works. What warning do you get?
Basically, it could be:
- an error message because the function is not used properly
- you're trying to use codes in multiplayer mode

I am still having problems getting the console to show up. I have modified both files (in the right places) and tried using both the ` key and other keys.
Boy this is frustating! I have patched up to 1.06. Do the cheats still work with this patch?

I tried for the 20th time and this time.....it worked!
LOL. I was able to get the console when I bound it to F12

For some reason the console works, but I can't get the cheat codes to work. Does anyone have any ideas why?

Keep in mind only the @ commands work now. The other commands like add_army have been disabled. Or at least last I checked.

- The commands only work in single player mode (they work in multiplayer maps, as long as you play solo).
- @commands work right away, but to use any cheat like "add_money", you first have to enter:
enable_cheats
if it's none of these, tell us what error message you get in the console.
