Quality point proposals

It seems to be that the list members are overall too shy in recommending others for quality points, and there's too few qp:s being awarded.

So I've started this thread to get the community to make more recommendations on who should get qp, and also make suggestions to old posts that should have received qp but didn't.

Scanning many of the September posts in the Altar of Wishes I didn't see any quality points being awarded, but there are more than enough posts to award at least as many as 10 quality points.

After having looked through some of the recent posts (latest two weeks or so) for the Altar of Wishes, I have the following suggestions/recommendations for quality points:

Preserver: Qp for one of his posts in the thread "Expansion pack proposal". Either the first or one the two last posts.

StormWarning: Qp for his post in "Heroes Experience"

Niteshade: Qp for his post in "New creatures"

Dragonhunter: Qp for his post in "Necromancy wrong"

LordTitan: Qp for his "Campaign" poll post. While it contained a lot of spelling errors I found it very funny to read. And yeah, I voted for LordTitan being crazy.

LordPaul: Qp for one of his posts in "Character gallery" thread.

Thanks! And thanks for the enlightenment (and I ain't talking about a Heavenly Helm).

I had been curious as to how that worked. I thought it had something to do with the number of posts.
I've also been wondering how you get the short comment under your name? Is it given to you or do you make it up some place?

P.S. You need to have a Tavern in order to build a Town Hall! I guess that tells you were some peoples priorities lie!

About my expansion proposal...

Sure the first and last posts are mine, but the second last (the very loooooong one) belongs to Incubus. But mine were still the best

Just fill out the "User defined status" in your profile.

BTW: I think Djive deserves a Qp for this thread

Count me in on that!

Preserver; I could not find the "User Defined Status" in the profile area?

Oh, my fault!

In the view profile it's named user defined status, but when you change your profile it's called "Custom Status"... Hope you'll find it now
Sorry Djive if we were going to much of-topic... Back to the Qps

Thanks!

I didn't know that you could add a "Custom Status" yourself. I'll be sure to make my own when I've come up with something suitable.

I'd also like to encourage other community members to post their own recommendations for qp:s here. I only looked through recent posts of Altar of Wishes. There's bound to be plenty of good posts in the Tavern, Library and Tournament too.

i can imagine all this forum being full of more or less pointless sarcastic notes by some ppl on every new and not yet very well thought out idea to get an easy qp, and many ppl mostly reading topics that might enable to attract attention with sarcasm, while other topics drop lower because of lack of replies. maybe it will not be like that with the ppl in this forum, but it's more or less the way it is in utopia bugs&suggestions forum even without any quality point system..
..if you meant -qp, i will consider agreeing with you.

A few more suggestion for qp:s

Agree with Gerdash.

Sarcasms are at the expense of others and not worthy of quality points. They may even give -qp.

Anyway, I've looked a bit further and found a few more suggestions for qp:s.

Sikmar: qp for his post in "Should heroes be allowed to ally"

The thread "Funny towns" should also have a qp. Either to Titan who started it or the funniest town among the suggestions, or possibly both.

And come to think of it, I believe Wyvern should have received two qp:s for all his work in the "Heroes IV Beta" thread. He got one, but considering the length of the thread and the work committed, I believe he should get two.

Thank you, Djive, but I think that I didn't deserve even that quality point. Yes, it was not too easy to translate that, but I didn't give my own brilliant ideas or something of a high quality - I just retold what other people said... Anyway, I hope it was useful for the other members.
As for who should be given a quality point - I must admit that I liked the "Expansion pack proposal" thread. It had many good ideas but what surprised me was that when I suggested that Preserver should change some things, he did that! I don't think that everyone will do the same. And the best suggestion was "Wyvern (HC member)"...
So Preserver really deserves a quality point. I'm sure there are others but his thread really impressed me.

One of the changes to the board discussed a while back was having a 'notify' button for each post, as a way of flagging it for the Mod Squad to take a closer look (good or bad).

Val is still looking into implementing it last I heard. I think right now he's devoting a lot of effort into getting AOHU up and running, so it may be a while. As a wise old man (or at least a wise old TV character)once said "Patience, Grasshopper.."

In the meantime, this thread is a very good idea, but please take the extra step of emailing or IMing a mod and directing their attention to the posts you mention. It couldn't hurt.

And for the record..yep, this thread idea counts as a quality post in my eyes...

Thanks Wyvern...

Now I'm getting all red...
You'll get it all back hehehe:

I know that your quality point is officially for the "Heroes4 beta!!!!!!" thread, but i personally think you also got it (or should have got it) because you are one of the best posters in here. WHAT ABOUT THAT?!!!

Okay, no fun anymore.... The truth is, that I don't find Qps that important. I mean, most people in here know me and of what quality my posts are. If there should be one who don't, he/she read my post and can see that it's not crap. So what I mean is that the Qp system is a bit unflexible, because the moderators isn't online very often (atleast my observation). So it can easily happen, that one member got 5 Qps, while another (nearly as good) poster got 0. But I'm still on the minuses though.

Hmmm....
Maybe a little quality point wouldn't be that bad...

I couldn't agree more with Preserver. Personally I believe the qp was not really for the translation job, but for how you handled the thread. And as Preserver said, you're one of the best posters.

Angelspit

I thought I should move this thread back to the top.

You may wish to know that I contacted Angelspit regarding a review of the thread and suggestions. This was part of his reply:

"... Unfortunately, my Internet access is limited because of the Code Blue and Nimda worms, meaning that I won't be able to review this proposal immediatly. For any urgent matter, I suggest you contact Valeriy or Pluvious instead ..."

The last advice may apply to anyone, who wants to reach Angelspit before normal opeation resumes again. I hope that the other Moderators do not experience something similar.

I'd also want to encourage you to make some suggestions for who deserve qp:s. The forum rules says about 2% of the top posts. Since I started this thread there's been more than 200 posts sent in to the Altar of Wishes alone. This means that there's a chance to propose something like 1-4 new qp:s only for the posts that were sent in during the weekend.

Quality point recievers...

My top 5:

Lith-Maethor (same as Ash-NIR. Know he had a minus once, but deserves + now...)
Wyvern (no H4 beta here! Just for his great posting )
Saruman (for taking up good topics and good posts)
Djive (new yes, but already one of the best posters. And for this thread of course)
Still (why doesn't he have one yet? He made many great threads)

Know there are others, but this is only top 5...

PS: A little addition:

...flattered as I may be lad, I don't find myself worthy of a QP... my minus 1 QP was a mistake (not mine) and the only point I could claim is a Personality Point, for posting acording to my alter ego... since there are no Personality Points, I claim none..
