Alright instead of making a new thread, I have decided to put something in here.

What is you're favourite type of character?
Paladin?
Druid?
Barbarian?
Necromancer?
Sorceress?
Assasin?
Amazon?

Tell me you're thoughts and opinions on you're favourite character type, and then perhaps some more discussion can be made into this thread

Basically when you have the entire set, you'll take the appearance of a 'night lord' type monster.. those old looking guys with a staff and casts meteor.

Hey,

- Thanks TOG.
- Now to another ( a bit of topic ) question. I have just re-installed D2 and LoD, but I can't seem to find a way to update it ( I assume there are a few patches ? )  I am currently runing 1.0.1  from Summit FAQ there is a 1.36 .. or am I missing something here...

You can log into battle.net and then it automatically downloads the patch and patches you're game, or you can go to the official site and download the latest patch from there.

Also the Tranghouls set is the only set that can change you're appearance, except Delirium, a runeword, has a 1% chance to turn you into a creature, forget the name but it is an act 3 creature, so yeah just thought I should tell you

EDIT:

Here is the item that I was talking about:

Item Name: Delirium
Items Allowed: 3 Socket Helms
Rune Order: Lem + Ist + Io
Stats:
1% Chance To Cast Level 50 Delirium* (morph) When Struck
6% Chance To Cast Level 14 Mind Blast When Struck
14% Chance To Cast Level 13 Terror When Struck
11% Chance To Cast Level 18 Confuse On Striking
+2 To All Skills
+261 Defense
+10 To Vitality
50% Extra Gold From Monsters
25% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items
Level 17 Attract (60 Charges)

The stat which is in bold is the stat that can change you into a creature for a temporary time.
The creature you turn into is a Bone Fetish, and for a period of about 1 minute you stay as this creature.
You can also do normal attacks in the form of a headbutt.

Bone Fetish Transformation

*above info taken from Arreat Summit Runeword Listing

That is an image of the creature that you turn into, surrounded by a bunch of cows only found in the Secret Cow Level, which can be made by doing this:

Go to Tristram, find Wirt's body, get Wirt's Leg, put it into you're Horadric Cube, and also place in there, a Book of Town Portal with 20 Town Portal scrolls in it.
Then transmute, and a special portal will open, make sure you do this in Rouge Encampement, otherwise it will not work.

This can only be done if you have finished the game mode, for example, if you are trying to make a Cow level in Hell mode, but have not finished Hell mode, then you cannot do it, make sure you have entirely finished the game just so you can make all the Cow Levels in the specific Modes.

NOTE: if you kill the Cow King, then that means you cannot make anymore Cow levels in the specific mode, for example:

You kill Cow King in Normal mode, then you cannot make any more Cow Levels in Normal, only in Nightmare and Hell.
If you kill Cow King in all 3 modes, Normal, Nightmare and Hell, then you wont be able to make anymore Cow levels again, so make sure you do NOT kill the Cow King if you want to make anymore Cow Levels.
Just thought you should know that little fact

The Cow Levels can provide some pretty cool stuff, like I mean some good items that can drop, but Cow Levels can sometimes be a little hard.

You want a real challenge, try and do Uber Tristram, that's the hardest level in the game, and you have to verse Mephisto, Diablo and Baal with the difficulty increased alot, they are much much harder to kill and the amount of enemies that are there, is very very hard to complete.
Make sure you do this when high level and with other people, but with other people the game's creatures get harder with each person that joins a game, but the experience earned is higher.
The more people in one game, Max is 8 players in a game, then the harder the creatures but the more experience gained, so yeah, but be warned that with more players, you will probably not get that good items, because they will be picked up or tried to be picked up by everyone at once, which can get really annoying, because in some ways, you miss out, but consider yourself lucky if you grab a unique item first and it turns out to be very rare.

Hey,

- Thanks for the tips William. I haven't played much in the past but a friend of mine was completely obsessed with it for years. I think he actually made it to lvl 99 with an ice/fire sorceress.

- But as far as I have read from the manual and summit I think I will start by making a tank  in SP( I am thinking Barbarian or Paladin ) But I am really interested in the Assassin, just have to completely figure out the charge-up and finishing moves and how they work.
- I know where to find Decard Cain and Tristram and I have experienced the wanderer ( one of the top Bosses suddently wanders the land or a certain area ) - But Uber Tristram ?
- O yeah, Cow ( runs ) I remember those too.. but only have had a few on normal, after beeing boosted through Normal by a tank.. as many does ( some for a prize though ). I usually hung around in the lobby waiting for the ( almost ) daily quitter and jumped in when he/her descided to unload in the Rouge Camp

The tp tome does not need to contain 20 scrolls

And concerning Uber Trist, its only available in ladder bnet and its the only location where you will find a hellfire torch charm. However most chars besides a BO'ed and fully equiped hammerdin will die within seconds of entering it. Town portals do not work there and all monsters have up to 5 different types of immunities.

Hmm...  I'm quite certain uber Tristram is also available on open Battle Net.  The countess dropped two keys of terror on a tower run not long ago, and those serve no other purpose than to open a portal to uber Andariel (Lilith), uber Duriel, or uber Izual, when combined with the key of hate and the key of destruction.

Once you have all body parts, these should be merged to open a portal to uber Tristram.  I suppose only a very limited number of characters could play uber Tristram on their own.  My best guess would be a smiter with heaps of crushing blow, and a weapon with massive elemental damage on the swith such as Baranar's Star.

I didn't know townportal didn't work in uber Tristram though, that's like... outright evil

Uber Duriel? That is SCARY!!! I've never played Diablo 2 online, but I remember having huge problems with the hell Duriel with every char except for Barbarian. How much damage does his charge do? 5000? I can't possibly imagine anyone except for buffed barbarian surviving this!

I think he is just one of Tristram's townsfolks. As he said - he was following Diablo AKA "Dark Wanderer" AKA "the hero who defeated the Diablo in Diablo 1" all the way from that tavern in the beginning of the movie. One thing I don't understand is: what happened in the end and where did he get the soulstone from? Is the 2-nd "dark wanderer" that comes to kill him in a nuthouse a hero who killed Diablo in Diablo 2 (i.e. you)?

The soulstone which Marius had was taken from Tal Rasha during the confrontation between Tyreal and Diablo (as the dark wanderer). I think this was shown at the fmv at the conclusion of Act 2.

The "2-nd dark wanderer" is infact Baal, whom Marius mistakenly identified as Tyreal, and thus willingly surrendered the aforementioned soulstone. This paves the storyline for LOD.

Well... make sure you have one of each key (terror, destruction and hate) together in the cube, and nothing else.  Then transmute the three items in Act 5 (will not work when performed in another act).

Yeah that is what I had, did not work for some reason, I don't know what else to do, perhaps it works with Closed Battle.net Ladder only.

This is a cool item, although the Delirium ability is quite dangerous, coz u can't use any weapon or ability. So if u r surrounded by a lot of enemies, u may get in real trouble My Barbar even can't use "jump" when morphed, so it's not a very usefull speciality. But there is one of the specialities, which is even "worse", respectively more dangerous. Not sure which of them it is exactly, but sometimes, after you hit or kill an enemy, all of a sudden, enemies come to you from all directions. It seems like u get noticed from creatures which are far away and normaly couldn't see you. This brought up real trouble for my Barbarian (single player). But all in all, it is a very good item.

The enemies come to you because of when you turn into the creature, the bone fetish.
