I don't like playing Kaspar much because war machines bore me, but he's one hell of a guy. His creeping is blazing fast and allows you to build up real quickly, in comparision Zoltan is a pain. Perfect hero for rushing early week 2, even if it's true that tent can be taken down, it still has 300hp at the least. By week 4 he's not too impressive, although the massive amount of artifacts and gold can actually boost his atack and knowledge to very decent levels.
Naadir can be a good option too but vs another hero his special won't matter that much unless the guy relies on resurection or raise dead
Zoltan is nice and all but he's slower to get all the goodies for creeping like dark/summoning. Sometimes I creep only with raise dead with him and whatever magic the map offers, not exactly the fastest out there. Moreover because he will get decent magic later Zoltan is weaker to rushes than other necro heroes.
Deirdre has a stylish pic and an interesting special, unfortunately her banshee howl bonus isn't really extraordinary and doesn't scale with level up. With the right luck/morale decreasing artifacts combo however it can be a real pain, but relying on some artifacts on the map is risky especially since oponent could get them first...
Lucretia: the tougher vamps are very welcome vs might factions, although destructive and flamaning balista still own them, fortunately not everyone has that at their disposal Getting luck and soldier's luck makes the princes much more effective too.
Orson: Some people actually like this guy, personally I haven't played him much, but in my experience his zombies aren't real killers, they're a decent punch bag and that's about it. There are more effective units in necro army.

if you develop orson correctly then the zombies isnīt punch bags.

I'd most probably be Lucretia.
1.Her specialty for vampires is good for me.
2.She is easy to level.
3.She makes it easy for me to keep my vampires alive.
