Jolly Roger vs Prince Joseph

There is one question on my mind: which map is more difficult Jolly Roger(HMM1) or Prince Joseph(HMM4). I think this is the firs one with playing level impossible, three "genius" opponents and "King of THe Hill. If somebody knows more difficult maps - let write here about them.

"Adventures of Jared Haret". It comes with SoD. Try it on 200%.

I agree, this is difficult map. I played it about 3 years ago(impossible level), but I think that Jolly Roger is more difficult.

I never played HMM4, so I can't say anything about the Prince Joseph map. Some remarks, however, about Jolly Roger.

Jolly Roger is a hard map, but the (HMM1) map "Two if by sea" is even a LOT harder in my opinion! I have finished Jolly Roger several times now, and this very morning I even finished it on Expert difficulty. I was extremely lucky with neutral stacks joining me, and won the game in 28 days for a score of 240.

But "Two if By Sea".. that's a different story. You get hardly any time/recources to prepare yourself, and there they come.. armies with phoenix and dragons! Finding the ultimate artifact is not so hard on this map, but it simply doesn't help much. After failing many many times, I finally managed to win the map.. on normal difficulty! On harder difficulty setting, I wonder if this map is even possible at all.

I second this: Two If By Sea is very hard.

I started this scenario on Hard, as a Knight. Expanding aggresively, combining forces with recruited warlock etc. The best I can do is Cavalry on day 7, and... it's not enough ! Week 2 starts with some dangerous but killable barbarians arriving. Next week you will see level 7 creatures arrive, heroes with Lightning Bolt etc.

I had to use my castle to defend against a barbarian who... had 12 Defense Skill, probably Ultimate Cloak of Protection. I barely had any scraps left, it was before week 4 for sure. Then a hero arrives with 4 dragons. Good luck with that. It could've been a different story if I had enough crystal for Cathedral.

I think Knight town is the worst choice by far. Your units are melee, no way to open the gate, only slow shooters. Barbarian (town, not necessarily hero) would have two good shooters, one of which Normal speed and regenerates. Warlock would have regenerating hydras, although I suppose you would need a Knight to make them work. Sorceress - good shooters, provided you can keep them alive.
