Well, despite some last minute decisions by contestants on which talent to showcase (T-A ), I think that we had a superb 4th round! On that note, I want to thank everyone for submitting something as this marked our second straight week of full competition, with zero no-shows!

I must admit, however, that I am getting nervous. When I see some contestants getting better every single week and then see others suddenly kicking their performances into "high gear" who could blame me, right?! It's getting to the point that I am considering rehearsing for my next entries or maybe even getting my performances on video. If last week's close-call was any indication, I have to do something big or new; otherwise I'll end up simply being a spectator & host.

If no one objects, I would now like to share a few comments & questions about last weeks' entries...as usual. And if anyone does object, well too bad!
William - That was a great compilation! Keep in mind, however, that some people might find a 20 minute submission a little too long for a weekly Talent Contest. Other than that, it was awesome stuff!

Antipaladin - Although one of your pics didn't show up, the other 2 were funny enough to make up for it. I especially liked the school-sign as it seemed more accidental than the obviously intentional tshirt...based on the scene in the background. I have to ask you, though, is it just me or does that school-sign look slightly photoshopped?

Iris - Do you like Final Fantasy or something? Seriously, your performance was a joy, as usual. You played it clean and transmitted the right emotions at all the right times. I would usually associate a F.F. song with a moment that I remember playing the game, but while listening to your performance, I just heard the music and nothing else.

P.S. I really liked the added touch of Posting a video to validate your work. This way, there can be no doubt of your talent!

Celfious - As the KISS saying goes: "Keep it simply simple". Well, your entry could not have been more simple, yet intriguing and thought-provoking.

P.S. I also used to consider the brain to be the origin of all thought by humans, but once I started hearing stories about people remembering things from the lives of strangers from who they received transplants (liver, heart, etc.), I had to throw my preconceptions out the window. Have you ever heard similar reports?

Kookastar - You certainly are giving the rest of us a run for our money this week. Not only did you move your story along in an interesting way AND add some kooky altered pics of Val, but you also keep finding ways of tying things into his real life...making the whole adventure almost believable!

Woock - Your fourth round submission was a real example of extremes, I found. On one hand you are building a very creative game concept (that is even starting to sound good to me ) and on the other hand, you are posting hilarious & zany pixelart of characters in your game. I love to see this, though, as I find that it is you truly being yourself!

T-A - I want to thank you for finding the time to submit something this round despite having the "busiest week ever". Although it wasn't your biggest or most creative submission to date, it was still pretty good. More importantly, your dedication to this contest is certainly not going unnoticed by me.

FoG - That was very good playing and singing! I wonder if you have any other talents that are as well-rounded as the multitude and variety of what you have shown us so far? (Can you see how I am trying to goad you into switching to something other than singing...as you are kicking my butt at it )

Milena - I really like the passion of your essay and its topic. You communicated your thoughts very well and got me seriously thinking about the subject you were discussing...and isn't that really the point sharing your thoughts with others?!

Leo I heard similar reports but not in a way to verify its true. It could be lol. Maybe I feel thoughts from my skull because thats where my eyes are, I would have to ask a blind person :3

Fog thats not a bad idea. The main part of the game other than cards is the monster and boss stat sheet. When I get the magic system fully implemented that too will be a part of it. I might take this game outside of talent show (maybe not) because there is a little work to do. It would be great if someone here knows how to program a card game involving 2 decks of cards, and an accumulative "point" system which enables you to fight a boss which then enables a selection of level up options. We could send out the game for free and ask for donations. It would be a lot easier and cooler playing it where the PC does everything for you.

Oh man, what a week!

Double elimination (sorry Woock & Celfious. I hope you understand my reasons; i.e. the votes left me with little choice)...3 Top vote-getters (Kookastar, Milena, & William are really kicking butt)...and only 7 contestants left (which means that we are HALF WAY to the Finale ).

I'll have to come back later to share my comments & questions with all of you (regarding the fifth round submissions) as my cold is making me tired & keeping me in bed. So, until then, take care and enjoy this week's results.

Here is my Comments & Questions Post, as promised. I know it's late, but I had to work 36 hours this weekend and have been fighting a nasty bronchitis that keeps waking me up every time I try to sleep. Well, I think that's enough of the "poor-me" routine, so let me just tell everyone that I think that we had an excellent 5th round! This Talent Contest is really turning into something fantastic and it wouldn't be possible without everyone participating like you've done. So, I want to thank all the contestants for sticking to their commitment & showcasing something last round!

For me, this competition started feeling real the first time that I found myself "at risk of elimination"...back in round #3. And it got that much more intense for me when Antipaladin was left out, because he had been the first steady contestant to go. And now, with each week that passes, I know it will get harder & harder to say goodbye to the competitors, as everyone who is left is showing us interesting talents and trying hard to get votes. At least when my time to get eliminated comes, I will feel some level of relief (because I won't have any pressure to perform) and also some anticipation (because I will finally be able to vote).

Well, now I'd like to change the topic a little and talk about what we saw, read, & heard from the contestants in round #5.
William - Your compilation is starting to develop into something truly amazing! If you keep things up, you might even have a "fan club" at the end of the contest. Don't forget to focus on the quality of your music, though, and not just the quantity. You had some really good beats throughout all the parts, but I found some of the "transitions" between them a little too long. Try to visualize your music playing at a club: If the song slows down too much, people won't dance to it.

T-A - Those signatures are magnificient...they truly are! I see them more as works of art than simple tags to go at the bottom of someone's Post. I would really like to put the one you made for me in my PP, if it's ok with you?

FoG - Your voice is really smooth and you play the guitar nicely, as well. I also liked your choice of song, as I hadn't heard that one in years. I'm surprised that you were able to get your whistling recorded, as every time that I try it there is crazy distortion. Anyways, I'm totally impressed!

Iris - What a cute song. For some reason, I perceive it's mood as being a good reflection of your personality...am I correct? Either way, I don't understand what's the problem with Sonatinas, as it sounded damn fine to me! (Maybe it's due to "tina" being mentionned. )

Celfious - I must admit that I had a mixed response to your submission. On one hand, it kept in line with your talent, it had interesting points, and it was balanced from start to finish. On the other hand, however, some elements seemed repetitive and the whole thing never seemed to go as "deep" as some of your previous submissions. Don't get me wrong, though, I love how you challenge us to think outside the box.

Kookastar - Although this was one of your shortest submissions yet, the quality more than made up for the quantity. Not to mention that your story is so good that it always has people anxiously awaiting the next part. If you keep this up, you might just be able to publish the whole thing as a children's book...or at least try it out on some of your young school kids.

Woock - Good development on your idea for the video game. It seems to me that every time you Post another of your cool pics, the whole thing concept gets more believable & more interesting.

Milena - You certainly chose another great subject to write about last round. I don't know where you pull these ideas out of (a hat...your butt ), but I don't care. It is just refreshing to see someone writing creatively about things that I sometimes think about, but rarely as in depth as you did here. I have to ask you, though, what's up with all the spelling mistakes???

I agree with those words Leo, everyone last week did an excellent job and I am sad to see that Celfious and Woock had to go, but you did a good job you 2, you should be proud.
Thanks Leo for the kind words btw I am starting to run  out of ideas though, this time I will limit to a fewsongs, maybe add 1 or 2 more by the end of this week if I have the time.

Good luck people for this week, I hope we have fun, as the rounds keep getting tougher as the weeks roll by, this might be anoither hard week tro compete with you all.

Thanks, Leo.    My issue with sonatinas is that they are extremely simple and lack technique.  My first piece was actually a sonatina.    So yeah... says a little bit about their difficulty.  It's just a little embarrassing that this is all I can recall now.    Haha.
