Hello everyone and welcome back to the fourth round of HC's Got Talent!

I have to tell you; things are really heating up in this competition and everyone is trying their best to crack the Top 10. And the voting followed that trend by reaching a new peak this week.

The 48 hour window for HC members to vote for their favourite performers officialy closed a few hours ago, so let's not waste any more time getting to the results!
*First of all, congratulations are in order for our Top 2 Vote-receiving Contestants:
Kookastar (for the 2nd week in a row) & Lady_Milena (for the 2nd time so far)!
You ladies are really showing the guys what talent is all about.

*The second thing that the results show us, is that there is a 5-way tie between the contestants at risk of elimination. In alphabetical order, they are:
-Antipaladin
-ChEsHiReKaT
-FoG
-Leo_Lion
-Lord_Woock

Although your performances were very good (in my opinion), the voters did not necessarily feel the same way. Maybe next week you'll need to add an "extra-something-special" to catch their attention. Unfortunately, one of the 5 contestants will not have that chance, as they will be eliminated from the game.

*This now brings us to the third and final issue that needs to be resolved before we can open the fourth round of competition. So, without further adieu, the player who's journey will end this week is...click here to find out.

Although she received as many votes as the other 4 contestants did, this week she was working with -1 vote (due to missing the previous week). So with that said, it is clear...yet unfortunate...that ChEsHiReKaT will no longer be performing in this Talent Contest.

On behalf of myself, the other contestants, and the viewers; I want to thank you (ChEsHiReKaT) for having shared your PhotoShop talents with all of us. You created some truly beautiful & unique pics. I'm sure that I speak for everyone when I say that we wish you could keep competing, but we hope that you will at least "stay in the game" as a voter.

*On that note, I declare that the next round is officialy open!

*The remaining 10 contestants now have until Friday night @ 23:59 EST to showcase their talents in a single Post, in this Thread. Remember, they can either keep going with the same talent or change to a new one at any time.
Well, that's it for now folks. I'd like to show appraciation for the 10 contestants left standing (including myself) for their superb 3rd round performances and wish them all luck in this 4th round.

I'm looking forward to seeing this week's talents-in-action and to getting lots of votes from the viewers on the weekend. Until then, take care everybody!

For this part in the contest, I have a massive 9 part Song series that I have shown to people at my forum and they like it.
I have them all uploaded and you can download them as they are from the same host as my last entry.

But be aware that they are quite poor quality but people still like them, and they would be better quality but if I was to make it any higher, the KBs would increase and it would become to much for my dial-up to handle while uploading and it would stuff up, so please forgive me on that.

The Entire series still isnt completed, as I will be constantly creating more "parts" to the songs, so maybe next week I shall show you parts 10 and beyond.

Well here they are, enjoy

Shock - Part 1
Shock - Part 2
Shock - Part 3
Shock - Part 4
Shock - Part 5
Shock - Part 6
Shock - Part 7

I'm going to run out of stuff soon, so here's a filler.

Coin Song from FFVI.

And for those of you who want "proof" that it is actually me playing these, here's a video of me playing the first song I put up: Bagatelle in G minor by Beethoven.

I lack the program, time, and motivation to shrink the video, so I hope your connection can handle a 31MB file.  If not, well, sucks to be you.

Edit: Fixing the linkie.

Of all our body parts, I can sense where my thoughts are coming from. I can sense them coming from my brain. Try it. Close your eyes for concentration, and try to feel your thoughts coming from your foot, or leg, or whatever.. Nope, cant happpen soz. It comes from inside of your skull, the upper portion to be exact.

I dont know if this is on the net but it is probably.. I came up with it myself with no help though so its talent sorta

My entry for this 4th Round of the HC Talent Contest is a song that I hope most of you will recognize, but that I acknowledge that some of you might not. Either way, "Jealousy" is a great song to sing along to while driving your car...if you have one.

I hope that you enjoy this catchy tune & how I sing it...and then decide to vote for me!

{This WAV file is a 5.4 MB, so hopefully it won't take you too long to load it up and listen to it.}

Sing along song

Remember to VOTE FOR ME!

Okay, so I am in for another week. You didn't get me to the top spots though, so I won't be submitting anything this week.

Kidding. Okay, let's see what ol' Woockie has to offer this time.

Lookie, more random pixelart! You got it, I'm gonna continue last week's entry. To tell the truth, I hardly said anything a week ago. Just a vague game idea, right? Well, let's build on it some more.

What do we see in the picture above? Two weird looking creatures. Let's call them a kicker whale (yep, that there is a foot!) and a pecket.

They can be some of the species living in the universe depicted in our would-be game. What do they do? The same thing barbarians do in the Civilization series (wow, we're branching out to many games here). Travelling through space and living off whatever they manage to grab from the floating islands. Another reason for defensive measures. But hey, that's not everything we're gonna fight, is it?

Of course not. There are other islands, too. But what happens when such an encounter occurs? We can go the Netstorm way (sans the bridge building) and build turrets to shoot down whatever there is on the other tower. But what's the point? Let's smash into their island and get our ground troops there! Can't have an RTS without ground troops, right? This makes it a viable idea to enable pillaging. Yeah, we can't just cram as many things in as we can - it's got to make sense

So hey, if we're crashing into other islands, why not let them stay stuck together? To expand one's building space or to cooperate with another islander, the options are many. In fact, multi-island alliances could be built this way. Might be fun in MMO.

Okay, so we're flying through space, utilising our scrap of land, eradicating kicker whales and other islanders. So much typing and this still looks pretty bland. But hey, I mentioned trading in last week's post. Awesome!

Let's throw in random asteroids to exploit for resources, and space stations to buy/sell stuff. Perhaps even get vigilante/bounty hunter jobs.

Vote me into next week and I'll draw something extra nifty using this game idea!

She can not only talk, not only dance, but she can think too!

For this week I have chosen to post an essay for you to read. I hope you'll like it.

Schooling vs Knowing

As a child I often wondered what the schools were for. My mother taught me to read, write and multiply. I watched TV and listened to the news, so I knew history well enough. My grandfather told me stories of far away lands that he had been to when he was younger and there went my need for geography. I have read more books than there are hairs on my head, so I've had my fair share of literature.

I sincerely felt that school was a useless waste of time. They taught us there what I didn't need to know or already knew. They often asked me what my favorite subject at school was and I would shrug my shoulders and say "I've got none" not because I couldn't choose but because there was nothing of real interest to me. It's not that I did not learn new things or gathered knowledge, it's that in pure value I should have received more for the efforts that a child was expect to put in school. To cut the whole story short, I felt school was a great waste of time.

But then there are those who could argue that school is not merely a place where children learn to substitute and spell. They meet other children their age and establish social contacts. A school is where they learn maths and biology but it also teaches them to live together and become friends. When kids got in trouble, the teachers would resolve the conflict using their authority. You saw, you tried, you learnt.

Then high school was over for me even though I had learnt very little of what I had wanted to really learn. My friend went away to other cities and foreign contries and all I could do was more on to the greater school - university. It supposedly had to teach me what to do when I get a job and start working. Four years later I am aware that if someone hires me, they have to go through a lot of training before I get the hang of the business. So, in other words, another great waste of my time.

The sad part is that I never had schooling for what I think truly necessary in life. Life is not about knowing to recite Shakespeare and solving matrices, about being able to tell the different kinds of clouds or endangered species. If happiness was measured by the amount of knowledge crammed in a person's head, the professors would be the happiest people on earth. Are they?

I went to school for 17 years and it taught me nothing, neither did it make me any happier. I'm a college graduate on the road but I still can't boast I know the most essential things that a person should know. I know the difference between an allegory and a metaphore - I graduated from school with flying colors - but I still don't know what to do in life - my own and of those who are around me.

I don't know how to tell people that I care for them and that I need them. I do not know the right words to turn down a kind offer or defend myself when they hurt me. I do not even know for sure what it is to love. I know not of a single school in this world who would teach you what is the most important to know - how to treat people and how to love them.

I would give up all those 17 years of studying and schooling for a simple, single year spent in a school where they teach me what I really need to know. All this time is indeed wasted if I do not have the skills and the knowledge to have good relationships with people and feel happy with myself.

And yes, after all this time I have been in school, my time spent, my poor head overwhelmed with facts, my mind tortured with abstract ideas, I still think that I have not learnt the most important in life... for it's not taught at all.

HC members, including those already eliminated, you are now free to vote for your favourite "performer" AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WISH. Just send me IMs or emails and I'll have the results posted in this Thread in around 48 hours.

Hello everyone and welcome back to the fifth round of HC's Got Talent!

While this weekend's results made some things perfectly clear about last week, they also made some things hard to distinguish. And I swear that with every week that passes by and every contestant that gets eliminated, things are only going to get tougher for those watching, for those voting, and for those putting their talents out there. If there's one thing that I know for sure, though, it is that this contest is constantly seeing some real and amazing talent!

Now to get down to business. The 48 hour window for HC members to vote for their favourite performers is officialy closed. So, let's not waste anymore time keeping the results a secret!
*As usual, I will start things off by naming the contestants who received the most votes from their fellow HC members. Please join me in congratulating our Top 2 Vote-receiving Contestants:
William (for the 2nd time) & Lady_Milena (for the 2nd week in a row & 3rd time so far)!
You both took your performances into new areas and showed us how unique & creative your talents can get.

*Now that 2 contestants know they will be around for another week, I think that we should put an end to the suspense for the other 8 (who don't know where they stand). The second thing that the results show us, is that there is a 4-way tie between the contestants at risk of elimination. In alphabetical order, they are:
-Antipaladin
-Celfious
-Lord_Woock
-TitaniumAlloy

This was a tough week and the voters were ruthless, to say the least. Despite your efforts to submit performances that you hoped would keep you in the contest for another round, for one of you, it will not have been enough.

*So, without further delay, please allow me to reveal the identity of the contestant who will be leaving our show this week. The eliminated person is...click here to find out.

Despite receiving as many votes as the other 3 contestants, he was the one with the fewest votes so far out of those who were at risk of being eliminated this week. So with that said, it is with a tear in my eye that I bid Antipaladin goodbye.

I'm sure that all of those involved in HC's Got Talent will agree with me, when I say thank you for sharing those funny pics with us! Not only did they make us do double-takes, but they also made us laugh. I hope that despite losing you as a contestant, we can look forward to seeing more of you in the coming rounds as a voter.

*On that note, I declare that the next round is officialy open!

*The remaining 9 contestants now have until Friday night @ 23:59 EST to showcase their talents in a single Post, in this Thread. Remember, they can either keep going with the same talent or change to a new one at any time.
Well, if there's anything that we can learn from this week's results, it's that EVERY VOTE COUNTS! That being said, I'd like to thank not only the 9 contestants left in the competition (including myself) for their great 4th round performances, but also the voters...who are making things very interesting from one week to another.

I'd like to wish everyone a good week and wish my fellow contestants the best of luck with their upcoming performances. Until then, take care everybody!

For this round I introduce the rest of the parts, parts 10 - 13.

Although, I am having a little trouble exporting them to mp3, as the exporting is doing some weird stuff like extending the song aother 2 minutes and making the file size bigger which means longer for me to upload.

Luckily I have uploaded part 10, so without further adue, here it is and the others will come later as I upload them so watch this space

EDIT: All fixed now, here are the songs

The statement "don’t believe without proof" is very underestimated by society. Blindly believing in something that is incorrect is much like believing in a fictional story. There is a lot less we can be sure about than things we can prove. The things we see are practical, and a degree of belief in them is good, but our eyes may be to convincing. It's important to know how language, thoughts, and beliefs are so closely related they are almost the same things.

Everything we think or say starts off as a recalled belief. These beliefs pass through brocas area  area of the mind, which creates and breaks down word structures. A belief is basically a learned idea which has been accepted by an individual in the form of thought and language. Even thoughts in our minds are made up of words and language. Thoughts and beliefs are two sides of the same thing. Thoughts are more flexible with language -and usually there are enough words known to complete the thought. "How" can someone say beliefs start all our thoughts? Because all thoughts are true to the thinker.

Our blind faith (unproven belief) in untrue things is similar to believing a story real when it is not. In the case of belief in reality, there are 1000's of blind beliefs without proof. Those beliefs conflict with one another, and neither has proof, else a mass acceptance of proof would occur, blotting out past nonsense, blind faith, and perceptions. The way our mind works between language communication and belief is a way which creates an alternate to reality (like stories). Granted, most things we believe (solids are real) are "is as we see it" we have beliefs about bigger unproven things, defining reality as we don’t know it. A belief is more influencing than stories, and it’s a 99.9% chance beliefs which oppose others are (like stories) alternate realities. Blind faith is in nearly everything we believe.

Without blind faith there’s a lot less we can be sure about than things we can prove. What if in reality we are pure souls or spirits, and not even colors exist outside of illusions. What if we're in a dream world or computer world where every scientific detail is based on an alternate far from the true reality? What if everything is only as we see it? Even if that’s true, we still haven’t proved all we see. We don’t know many things because most of our beliefs are theory or stem from other theories. The perceptions we have are neither proven true nor false. There is scarce little we can be sure about unless we -for good reason- over look the non obvious.

Don’t misunderstand any of these concepts. It's ok to be down to earth. That which is true to the eye, even if false, has provided functionality for many years. If you run into a tree you will probably get the same results thinking its real, or it only seems real. A philosopher Rene Descartes said that nothing except he exists can be proven to him (as some people perceive it) "I think therefore I am". I am sure he referred to food as food, math as math, ECT when he was living a regular (not deep philosophic) life. Our interpretation of what we see is wrong or not, but it's convincing because of how practical it is. Great powers and/or minds are at work if things are not as it seems to us. Yes the universe is convincing by its practicality, but it has not proven its origin, meaning, or the reality behind it all. Technically there is nothing it can prove until it proves what itself is. (Fully proven and practically proven are not the same things)

In conclusion, you can only believe in most things by blind faith. Stories are an alternate to reality like language and out beliefs. We can prove a lot of things for practicality but we can’t prove them 100%. Things looked at with simplicity provides function. Language, thoughts, and beliefs are all closely related and created by humanity.

My entry for this 5th Round of the HC Talent Contest is another great song to sing along to while driving your car or taking a shower, or whatever. It's called "Addicted to you" and it was released a few years ago, so hopefully, you will all recognize it.

I also want to thank some of the people who have given me advice throughout the previous rounds, as I tried my best to incorporate their suggestions into this performance. I turned up the background music and tried to sing something that wasn't too high on the "octave scale". So hopefully, you will enjoy this catchy tune & how I sing it...and then decide to vote for me!

{This WAV file is a 5.7 MB, so hopefully it won't take you too long to load it up and listen to it.}

Good tune!

Remember to VOTE FOR ME!
