I'm running a P4 2.3ghz with 1.256 gb ram and a 128mb nvidia 5200 fx graphics card.and the only slow downs are when i'm near water or in multi player and some one uses the sylvan town. so what am I doing wrong. I've lowered all the graphics settings and still nothing.and yes my system is cleaned up every day clean disk and defrag and a system check.so were is the problem.

I can't play witout music!I mean, the music in the game is perfect but i got bored of hearing the same sounds!
Doesn't matter... here is my PC conf.:
2,5 GHz, 512Mb RAM, about the videocard i'm not sure but i know that it is 256MB!The game makes no problem and i play it on High graphics details and with winamp on!!It runs very well!!I have no game problems! My computer is Made in BULGARIA that must be!

He could run the HoMMV dedicated server....

I especially like when someone comes to forum asking for help, promises to come back with feedback, and you never hear from him again.
Just a thought, I'm not saying that is the case here.

take it easy man, don't get so offended.

Feedback: I'm playing now with disabled anti-aliasing and fixed camera at 1280x1024 and it runs pretty ok. i found out that the camera is eating lots of resources...

1.) Defrag your HDD - DONE
2.) Update ALL drivers - DONE
3.) Check your Windows Task Manager window (ctrl+alt+delete) for unwanted processes/apps. - NO UNWANTED
4.) Turn off Antivirus - DONE
5.) MSN - CLOSED
6.) background programs running - NONE that consume a significant amount of resources
7.) run the HoMMV dedicated server - NOT the case

LOL why would I take offence?
I just don't like that when some problem gets fixed, people who were previously asking help don't even bother to send a solution.

Anyway I am glad that now you can play the game properly
Pity about the fixed camera though.

no sweat.

I prefer to give actual working advice as opposed to just saying "update everything" in a generic sense.

hi. I have a pretty old comp (athlon 1800 / 512 ddr at 266/ FX6600 258megs) and I have gotten a serious improvement by setting the camera to 'vertically fixed' which allows full rotation but no zoom.

I used to go with the 'classic view' but this makes you miss chest and arties that are near trees and block the view. then changed to 'fixed vertically' and it's much better now (I don't miss objects) with no performance cost whatsoever.

I also have celtic music running in background all the time (winamp), antivir and donwload manager. and still run a fast game.

@Ra2
What do you think of "Orthodox Celts"?
Although they play purely Irish music, that's theoretically kinda celtic too
