I was referring to the eraser tool for objects, but that helps just as much.

objects you simply select them and hit the "delete" key.
you ca select all objects of the same type by selcting one and then press Ctrl+Shift+A
Ctrl+a selects all objects on the map.

Script me this, script me that...

I'm having great troubles using scripts in my maps.
Whatever I do the program claims that I don't define my functions.
Even when I made an exact copy of the script in the editor guide did it refuse working for me!

Anybody out there with supreme scripting knowledge?

the message "function not defined" is a bug.
More exactly the script debugger is of no use.
Another great job from Nival.

underground design

Guys, I don't know if these has already been discussed somewhere in the forum (I saw someone asking about asking the underground, but no answer appeared) so I decided to ask for the Community's help. It is about building maps with underground - I don't have any clue about how to make the underground. Can somebody help me, describing step by step how to do  it? Thanks a lot.

Click the "Esc" key.

To delete the placed object, select it and click "Delete".

To set or edit its properties, hit the Space bar.

I was about to ask about the darkness of the underground, since a scenario I'm making requires the underground, but I see that's already answered. ^^;

Hi, everyone!!!
I have few questions, I have a original Heroes 5 DVD, and I patch it.
I can't edit maps from the game, because I can't find them.

When I download maps from the internet, and edit them. I save them in Save folder in HOMM5, and it's not there. I can't find them in the game.

I begg for help... Pleeeease.

By the way, I'm from Serbia, and have understanding for my bad English...

Thanks
Don't put the maps in the Save folder, it's for saved games. Maps should be placed in the Maps folder. If you do not have it, run the editor and the folder will be created. If you still cannot open the maps you've downloaded, they are probably not in the .h5m format.

If you still can't make it, send me an e-mail or a private message in Serbian.

Forced teleportation?

I have a question about forcing heroes to Instant Travel. In the first scenario of the Raelag campaign the hero is transfered to a specific location on a specific day. I'm trying to fin scripts that help you do that, but I can't see anything the like!

Any of you mapmakers out there got any clue?

I just saw it yesterday when I was fooling around on the "Script Functions" document, Iīm going to look again, test it, and maybe bring the answer tomorrow, if can I find it again (Iīm from Brazil, and thus at work right now...).

Well, besides of that, I am starting as a mapmaker, and I must say, depise the fact that the map editor is not so easy to handle, itīs fun to build maps and, specially, to make scripts work.
Ok, introduction made, here goes the question:

I just canīt get my hero to receive a reward when it retrieves an artifact. Iīve tried dozens of scripts (with and without "Trigger"), and nothing really worked. Can anyone post a script here to help? It would be highly appreciated.

@TheHaze. *.h5m files are actually renamed zip archives. for SingleMission to Multiplayer conversion you need to rename a directory inside that archive.

@forced travel: the command is SetObjectPosition("hero name", destination_x, y, floor);

I do not understand the situation. Are you using a quest hut or trying to build some specific script on another object?

Actually, I just want to reward the hero when he captures a given artifact. No huts involved.
For example, I plan to reward the hero with 1 Colossus in case it takes the Cuirass of the Dwarven Kings. I know it sounds very simple, but I tried  a lot, and couldnīt manage to suceed.

Have you tried:
----------------------------

function reward1(hn)
 AddHeroCreatures(hn, CREATURE_GIANT, 1);
end;

Trigger(OBJECT_TOUCH_TRIGGER, "arty1", "reward1");

---------------------------------
In addition to these lines in the script file, select the cuircass artifact on map, hit space and name it as arty1.

Maybe, Iīve tried LOTS of ways to write a script, but in the most cases using Triggers, I put the trigger command inside the function, right above the "end". However, Iīll try this way today, and reply later about the results.

PS: Just downloaded your Script guidelines, marvelous work, congratulations.

I still could not test the "reward" function, although, one more thing came to my mind. Is there anyway for a hero to win a scenario by dying? Yes, this sounds weird, but Iīm trying to do this for a while, I havenīt tried hard enough. Any ideas?

I have a question... Is it possible to make a map where both levels have the properties of the underground?? I know how to change the lighting, so that's not what I'm after, more the walls (in terms of their height and appearance). Anybody know how to do this? I don't know of any way with the editor as it is, but was hoping that there might be a way to do it otherwise.

Edit: just on a side note, does anybody know why I wouldn't be able to select the 'As player X' random type for a town?

I've got some troubles myself. See I took the addon by piracy and it had some sort of mapeditor in it (somewhere at the bin folder). I tried to create a map but the options of the editor were realy poor it did not allow me create scenarios, did not allow me to set was the map multiplayer or single player, did not allow me to set number of creatures in a stack or the number of recources in a pile.
