Look at this:
Naga\naga queen stats-giant\titan stats
Attack:16\16 Attack:19\24
Defense13\13 Defense:16\24
Damage:20\30 Damage:40-60\40-60
Hit points:110\110 Hit points:you know!!
speed:5\7 speed:7\11
Being giant and coming from cloud temple means tou ought to have a lot more hit points than the naga's.For me it's like a insult.Naga's should suck alongside or fighting against giants and titans,but many times it's not the titans that ends the batlles(except when he strikes first and kills the one stack of weak creatures you were fighting) but the naga's.
Rakshasha Rani\Rakshasha Raja stats-collosus\titan stats
Attack:25\25 Attack:27\30
Defense:20\20 Defense:27\30
Damage:15-23\23-30 Damage:40-70\40-70
Hit points:120\140 Hit points:175\190
Speed:5\6 Speed:6\6
Seems fare to me.Titans and collosi compensate for their hit points with their very high damage.
Now,I was thinking of what would you have to reply to these stats.

From personal experience rakshasas don't win battles and are harder to get(not taking into account the 10000 foe upg).I like them a lot but nagas are top tier

snakes wearing black leather and a crown > lions with red hair...
seriously, the frenzied naga queen back in HOMM 3 can't be rivaled by rakshasas... but since the naga's are probably going to get a town of their own (YAY!"), the rakshasas should stay in the academy... flaming lions fit better in the desert anyway...

I was a Tower fan back in Heroes 3. However, the Dread Knights put Naga Queens into debate on which the top Tier 6 was. 15-30 damage with Death Blow. Defense/Attack are higher. 10hp above Naga Queens. Naga Queens' only plus point against Dread Knights: No enemy retaliation.

Nah I'd go for dread knights anytime! While on paper they seemed kinda equal I felt the nagas were just a little inferior.The image of a deathblow was the most terrifying effect you could see over your units in a battle!One particular time I had a...strange incident considering necropolis.The ghost dragons attacked my 40 golden causing age.And then some 60 dread knights came and had a deathblow with luck No dragons survived the attack.Ah happy memories

actually, i'd take naga queens over dread knights in most circumstances...naga queens are far more deadly if used correctly... try prayer then frenzy and then attack... damage is sick...
The plus point: no retaliation is a VERY BIG PLUS! No retal is one of the most favoured abilities (apart from those abilties belonging only to 1 creature, such as res or rebirth)
Naga queens are particularly useful when making the first attack on a strong stack of creatures. This means there are less creatures to retaliate on your other creatures which will attack it =)

How many of y'all like the rakshashas appearance?Give it a note,10 being the best,and compare it to the naga from h3 or h4.Describe your own vision of the naga.

rakshasa gets 6, while naga gets 9... H3 creatures looked better than H5... =)

myself I would vote rakshashas about a 6 and the naga 9 at least.the creatures in h3 weren't so cartoonish like they are in h5.I still like the h5 creatures but there is an elemate of cartoon in there making.h3 seemed to be trying for the relistice look.

Both Rakshasas and Nagas are indian monsters. there's no way the nagas were ripped off from medusas because indian civilization existed way before the greek ones. and rakshasas are basically demons in indian mythology. they were transformed into tiger-faced humanoids in dungeons and dragons and further modified by nival to what they are now.

Heh, neat.
I like both creatures, although I haven't seen Rakshasas' in many games but D&D.
However I find the D&D version of the R-man works better (well, in my opinion anyways), and by that I mean a spellcaster.
Both creatures are pretty awesome, but I'd have to Say R-man's cooler.

you know when you read that little bit of info there on that site.You almost get the feeling that they should have been put with a diffrent army type.like demons or necro's just do to there disterbing of graves and harrasement of priests.plus they eat roiting flesh.how does that fit in with the wizards?

Well,you know.The evil spirits or whatever that live on another plane and the wizards finally were able to bind them to their will and summon them?It works but no matter how they look and feel still nagas were more fit with academy in a protector role.Maybe in H6

The whole Academy is so arabic-themed now. The heroes all wear turbans. Their djinns look more middle-east than ever. Magi as well.
At least in H3 the Magi look cool. They had long white hair. Nagas are a well known mythical creature. Titans maintained their colossal suave-ness.
All in all, I really despise the H5 image of the Wizards. I will never play it, and Rakshashas are half the reason(typing that name gives me the chills already).
yeah, i hate the Academy too, Tower was much better! I have no problem with nagas get replaced by rakshasas, though it is a bit weird. the reason is of course, nagas can't live in a desert, they're obviously a snow/cold/water creature.
Off-topic about Academy: The titans are a laugh, the wizards are old and ridiculous. What's with the gremlins wearing those coats? Dont tell me its cold in the desert at nights. And the gargoyles are the most idiotic thing ever. The only ones i can stand are golems and the rakshasas. the others - UHHHH!!!!
edit: oh yeah, i voted Nagas.

why can't nagas live in a desert? snakes live in deserts... plenty... in fact, they'd find it easier to live in desert than in snow... lol =)
