Campaign:  The Queen
Days:  87
Score:  79148

It can definately be done faster though.  I didn't get any Weeks of the Flame and I was a little slow in developing logistics.  I also went out of the way to gain some unnecessary powerups.

Arg!  I wish I had read this first!  I played on Hard.
The Queen
206 days
28,350 points
Very little save file usage.  I think I'll try Inferno on Heroic.

BTW, you guys are insanely fast!  I'm almost embarrassed to post my score here!!

BTW, has anyone come up with the score formula yet?  I have a feeling it's solely based on difficulty and time.

I'm actually replaying the first campaign again.  I'm not satisfied with my speed.  It's pretty fun to try to figure out the absolute fastest route possible.  It presents a different kind of challenge (that unfortunately requires a bit of reloading).

Obviously if you REALLY wanted the fastest run through you could keep replaying the missions until you kept getting Weeks of the Flame but that would take a lot more patience than I have.

How about the fastest route possible in "real" time?  That was a reload really costs you, and you are faced with real decisions that cannot be unmade, or at least not for free..

Start a real timer when u begin the campaign, and stop it when u sleep and stuff

Now THATS a challenge!

True, that's another kind of challenge, but I like to relax when I play Heroes games.  You know, maybe eat a pizza while I'm playing.  Also, I like the like the challenge of the fastest playthrough in terms of number of days because it makes you fight some really hard fights (because you have no time to recruit more troops).  But if I was going for a fastest "real time" playthrough, I'd be doing a lot of hitting E, then hitting enter just so I could get to the next week to recruit more creatures.  Also, I'd have a big advantage over a lot of other players because I have an incredibly fast computer so the computer's turn always takes only a few seconds at most.

Also, I like the idea of "perfection" and you can't really have a "perfect" real-time playthrough.

That's basically whats wrong with attempting perfection - The lack of efficiency. If everything must be perfect, the only way to achieve that is to go slower and do less..

I guess true perfection is the void, or death, because then nothing is flawed.. thats why I dont like perfection  True perfection is not playing the game

Well, we each have what we think is fun.  I think playing through the game this way is really fun because you really have to think about your strategy in the fights when you basically have no creatures.  I realize it might not be fun for everyone, but I really enjoy it.  Playing through the game the first time, I thought the game was too easy...this is a way of giving myself a challenge.

By the way, I appreciate the real time challenges sometimes too.  I participated in the "Warcraft III Done Quick" challenge and the "Frozen Throne Done Quick" challenge that can be found on infoceptor.com.  That was a game that I thought lended itself very well to a real time challenge. I enjoyed it for that game, but for this game I'm just not as interested in seeing how fast I can whip through it.  That's not to say other people shouldn't try it.  It could be fun.

New update, Dungeon campaign finished:

Days 119
Score 71521

The beginning of the Cultists mission was the most challenging campaign moment for me from the time of H3 and one mission where you were supposed to capture some town (Steadwick?) guarded by an army 10 ten bigger than yours. I challenge anyone to beat this mission w/o reloads on heroic.

Campaign:  Haven
Days:  73
Score:  89202

Oh yeah!  Now I'm satisfied.  Two full weeks faster than last time.  And again, no weeks of the flame, so if you're lucky, it can obviously be done faster.  In fact, it can be done faster anyway because I did go out of my way a little bit getting power ups again.  My heroes are still pretty weak but at least they should be strong enough not to slow me down in the later campaigns they show up in.  One thing to note is that the game only counts days you complete, not days you start so if you finish a mission on Week 1, Day 7, the game will count that mission as having taken 6 days.

Also, I saw the thread on how to exploit the hall of fame so I'm glad I decided to create an entire new profile each time I play through the campaign; I'd be pretty mad if I had to redo everything I did just to avoid that stupid exploit.

And Rainalcar, those times are pretty impressive, especially the Necromancer and Dungeon ones.  It gives me some extra motivation.

Whoever uses that exploit is some strange person... It's not fait, and I consider it a bug. I am trying my best to play the mission simply by knowledge of play, with no walkthroughs, and this is how it came out.

That exploit is definitely a bug.  And I agree, I couldn't imagine why someone would feel the desire to use it.  After all, it's not like anyone is looking at your hall of fame anyway.  It's just for your own satisfaction.

I'm almost done with the Inferno campaign.  I'll post my time soon.
