Attention JB239

Have a suggestion for Battle for Honor.  Just started a game with BobbyOhms and to my dismay I find I have the Sextant ( Extra movement at sea) artifact and NO sea on map lol. Really a waste of an artifact.  Maybe in next update it could be disabled as an option??

Thanks.

good point.. ill remember to remove it from maps with no sea.. however I wont make an update to the map JUST to fix that.. Ill wait and see if any other bugs, suggestions, etc form before making another update.

As for new maps.. I've been really busy lately, so haven't had too much time to work on stuff, but Giant War is 75% done and another new more creative map has been started. Stay tuned...

There's not enough to do on battle for honor imo. There should be so much to do that you have to prioritize -> this increases the strategic options. There's always enough room to add something extra to kill

Anyway, this is just what I'm feeling after being spoiled by the h4 map creators. H5 maps Look big, but they are pretty small and there's not enough to do on them.

Just my 2cp,

Arangar I am gonna hold you to that.  As  former H4 map maker, I am in process of making a h5 map.  And my intention is to have several areas on map that you have to make choices and wont beable to get them all done.

Hey,

- The Final Encounter - I have to agree with Niagaran, very nice map, top notch. Balance is super and the "Ultimate" in the middle is nice too. I haven't decided on the Garrison at your own castle yet... but deffently a map I like to see on the maps page in the future.

~ From me.

- Battle For Honor 1.4 I have to agree with Aranger. But I think it could be solved with a small underdark area ( if that dosen't conflict with the original idea of the map ).

~and a half.  From me.

- Hourglass Great map, looooads to do, and the Garrison kinda "grows on you" as you play it a few times ( in the good way ).
Could be an interresting idea to make the map, as a whole, a notch bigger.. or as I have mentioned before, make some of the trips of off the mainland more worthwhile it.

~ From me.

- Well enought ranting from me. I am off to proberly test others from Heroes 5 Maps Index

- Guz

Hehe, meanwhile, Bertuger, on your own Dead man's lake map it is enabled too. Looks like "no Sextant and water walking boots" should be a demanded rule for every map without sea!

Just my 2cp,

Ill make 1 more update to Battle for Honor.. Ill add a few more things to get, remove the sextant of sea and do a few cosmetic changes. But Ill wait a little bit before posting it.. Just in case there are any more suggestions. I don't want to, and Im sure Ves doesn't want to constantly post new updates to maps haha.

My newest map in the works "Giant War" will probably be done tomorrow for beta testing.

But keep the feedback coming!

Ok here is Giant War

And

Giant War Ver 1.0
*If it comes up as a zip file while downloading it rename it to giantwar.h5m and it should work fine. You shouldn't have to do that, but just in case you can't get it to work.

**Ok and now some release notes.

Due to a bug (or intention?) in the editor, I could not give a player 2 starting towns that matched, so you will notice a teleport that goes right to a matching town. It is intended to be gotten day 1 and the contribute to your large army. I also did not use any scripts, so to make up for that I have external dwellings provide the extra troops. Also this is the very beta version and Im undecided as to what to make the middle guards so any suggestions are welcomed.. as of now its an inferno army mixed with some stuff. And finally when you test it be careful to check the creature amounts before attacking

Oh 1 last thing.. my next map won't be as crazy with the stats, creatures etc.. and will have new strategy within it.. so stay tuned for that if map styles like Hourglass and Giant War are not your style.

Can we stick to the same standards for installing maps that TOH posts and uses... The same way it was done in H3 and H4.

Just make all the maps GiantWar.h5m file so we can just put that file in the maps folder instead of the unzipping into data folder way.

Just a thought.

Actually I don't upload them as zip files, and they really are h5m files.. when you download it just rename it giantwar.h5m and put it in your maps folder and it should work.

5 new maps added to the ToH Roster:

Dragon Hill - Plain looking but good simple fun
Final Encounter - 'Ok'...
Fatal Controversy - Plain, Grid-like (one minor bug, a southern guarded treasure chest pile is inaccessible - blue side)
Two Coast - ok if for the spelling errors haha
Two Sides - again, lots of open space, plainness, free mines eg. mercury & sulfur will benefit some races
Random wars - Need the h5m version before I put up, minor bugs like lava graphic error on right side of map, treasure chest inaccessible at knowledge spire NE side of map.

Overall, maps are cool and balanced, my gripe is that when it comes to aesthetics, they just don't compare to the UBI maps, and some if not all of these posted aren't playtested by the mapmakers properly, or there wouldn't be these 'inaccessible' bugs...
