Gog and Magog were Welsh giants, mentioned in the Mabinogion (Traditional Welsh stories. I can post translations).
Thunderbirds is a childrens television programme (Sorry.   I just had to!).
Golems are from Jewish mythology, created to protect.
The Firebird is Russian I think.. I'll check
Genies and Effeti are from 'Arabian Nights'
Dendroids are tree spirits and should be called 'dryads'
Black Knights also originated from the Mabinogion and the Mort D'Arthur
Elves and Faeries we the orignial inhabitants of Wales before the Celts and known by these names because of their pale skin and pointed ears and faces (and are my ancestors!!)

And Wesley, you are lucky there are no Irish here!  Leprichauns are Irish and live at the end of the rainbow with a pot of gold!  Confusing the English, Irish, Welsh and Scottish is dangerous!!

Gog:
(1.) A Reubenite (1 Chr. 5:4), the father of Shimei.
(2.) The name of the leader of the hostile party described in Ezek. 38,39, as coming from the "north country" and assailing the people of Israel to their own destruction. This prophecy has been regarded as fulfilled in the conflicts of the Maccabees with Antiochus, the invasion and overthrow of the Chaldeans, and the temporary successes and destined overthrow of the Turks. But "all these interpretations are unsatisfactory and inadequate. The vision respecting Gog and Magog in the Apocalypse (Rev. 20:8) is in substance a reannouncement of this prophecy of Ezekiel. But while Ezekiel contemplates the great conflict in a more general light as what was certainly to be connected with the times of the Messiah, and should come then to its last decisive issues, John, on the other hand, writing from the commencement of the Messiah's times, describes there the last struggles and victories of the cause of Christ. In both cases alike the vision describes the final workings of the world's evil and its results in connection with the kingdom of God, only the starting-point is placed further in advance in the one case than in the other." It has been supposed to be the name of a district in the wild north-east steppes of Central Asia, north of the Hindu-Kush, now a part of Turkestan, a region about 2,000 miles north-east of Nineveh.

behemoth (Job 40:15-24). Some have supposed this to be an Egyptian word meaning a "water-ox." The Revised Version has here in the margin "hippopotamus," which is probably the correct rendering of the word. The word occurs frequently in Scripture, but, except here, always as a common name, and translated "beast" or "cattle."

although Phoenix lived in Egypt, it's origin is from greek mythology... afair, the Phoenix (yes, there was only one) built it's nest on a palm tree (the greek word for palm tree is "finikas" [old version -> "phoenix"]) and set t on fire when it was about to die, only to be reborned from its ashes...

Got to check some history books

Phoneix from Egypt ???

I think it's from China. In ancient Chinese, dragon is the symbol of emperor while phoneix is symbol of queen. That's the case several thousands of years ago.

Well, Egypt also got very long history, great culture, though I know not much about it's mythology.

Maybe all the cultures in the world come from the same origin just some mythologies say that it's God(s) intention to separate the cultures by creating different languages so that ppl on earth can't build that crazy Babylon Tower.

yep....thundernight read my mind...although u might claim that the phoenix is Egytian but the ancient chinese already had that in their mythical bibles ages ago....and i do mean ages ago....as far back as the egytians themselves and probably further...the chinese are one of the most ancient race IMO

another creature i want to mentin is the mermaid...i heard tell that in some of the greek legends that seem to be mermaids sitting on rocks that lure sailors to their death...but the most famous of the mermaids is the Lorelei...and that's a german legend....so i m kinda confused where the mermaids comes from...

Most countries actually have their own versions of fairy tales as they were once part of the same empire (ie, a lot of celtic monsters turn up in Gaul and Brittany)

And the bastilik is actually 1/2 chicken 1/2 snake and can only be killed by a mirror or a rooster (I mean who on earth made that up?!)

You're mixing thing that aren't the same:
Siren - the kind of nymphs that, with their singing, attract sailors to their death and stuff.
Mermaid - a creature with the head, body & hands of female human, tail (instead of legs) of fish

Sirens and Mermaids

Sirens are beings of greek mythology, mermaids are not (even if recent greek legends [400 years old] say that alexander's sister is a mermaid)

Sirens/

Were beautifull nimphs once. Then when they failed to resque their female leader from hades.
This female leader(I forgot her name) turned them into giant eagles with only the face and hair from their former bodies. They were bound to a cliff and ther they stayed till they thowed themself into the ocean when oddeseus(I hate that name)succeded his travel with ignoring the sirens.
