Poll Question:
Strongest tier 1 creature?

All of you keep discussing strongest tier 7. How about the other way round? Strong tier 1 creatures make or break your good start - if you got strong ones getting the starting mines would be a breeze. Likewise if your sawmill and orepit were guarded by the strongest, it would be a feat!

army wise, Familiars are the best due to manadrain, skellies come in sheer numbers so they are also useful. The rest sucks.

Sprites are horrible to face when trying to capture the ore pit or sawmill. No way of avoiding losses - especially for sylvan (take the hunters off the field or you'll lose quite a few.. ~~)

I voted skeleton archers because they're the main force of the necros. However, if you drop the necromancy for a minute, sprites would probably get my vote - they're fast, no retaliation and casters, very good for a beginning.

sprites are VERY good in the begining. You can kill any amount of golems / squires / zombies etc. with just 1 sprite.

Hey,

- Yes it's duable,Betruger, but dont be so "cruel" we're in a 4 way FFA here - j/k

- In my opinion, it all depends on what your facing, so a neutral vote from this fella here.

Strongest from top to bottom:
Familiares. They are a very usefull creature by taking the enemies spell points. In combat are lasting and also very strong but in big battles they usually get killed by a tier 5 unit or higher in bigger numbers quite often.Sylvan armies are capable of dealing with these creatures.Transfer mana with your elder druids and cast the spell which you wanted.

Skeleton archers. While you can win a lot of battles with these creatures and increase there numbers, caution and wise decisions have to be made to their favor.

Conscripts.Haven tier 1 creatures aren't very usefull, but training them means you increase the archer\marksmen numbers considerably..and this is the reason I despite them.

Assasins.Almost resembeling perfection in attack, defense and hit points, for level 1 creature. They are excellent creatures with their initiative as it should be,and speed as well.Their posonous attack can be good in early battles, but in big ones, not that much.

Sprites. They have to usefull spells in two wayes.wasp swarm can do some damage the sprite can't reach a unit to inflict damage,or not waiting with them.the second one is cleansing which solves friendly creatures negative buffs or good buffs.

Master gremlins.I don't like gremlins in almost every aspect.Only thing good is their repair, and comming in big numbers.

everyone seems to hate the master gremlins... but note the first post, which tier 1 creature can "make or break the game" at the start...
beginning? I'd take MGs over others... they're easy to get, fixes your first aid tent broken, and they're ranged. Academy relies heavily on the GGG combo.

You can kill them but there is a small risk of loosing your fresh baked "main" hero

Sprites are what I dread most guarding my starting sawmill. Followed by Assasins. Master Gremlins can cause losses too.

My vote certainly goes to the assassins. Well, which other creature is able to kill a black dragon, even after the entire stack has been wiped out? Their only weakness is the low weekly growth.

If you'd put all of these in a 1-on-1 competition, I think that the Assassins/Scouts will come out as top dog. If you take the weekly growth amount and pitch those against eachother in battle ... I am not so sure anymore. I would put my money on the Sprites then.

Assasins always do half dmg when shooting, so they are actually a very very weak creature..

I voted familiars because those things win major battles.

Let's see....highest attack for tier - check, highest defense - check, over double any other tier 1's HPs - check, ranged ability with dot effect poison - check, high initiative - check, capable melee unit - check, weak - uhmmm, how do you figure?  Growth rate is their only weakness, and that's simple truth.

growth rate 4 times lower than normal creatures - checked. ~~

Assassins own the earlygame with Vayshan.. 45 assassins! Add destructive and some furies and go clear the map, without caring for loses, because assassins totally suck later on. Joy

Strongest tier 1 creature is the most difficult question of them all.  The main reason being that there are many stages of the game to consider - early, middle and late, let's call them.  Late I think is obvious - Familiars can really help in big battles versus other heroes.  Steal mana, gate creatures near archers.  Master Gremlins seem best in the middle where they combo with Golems very effectively.  Sprites and assassins are best early (I think, could be wrong).  Skellies are good throughout.  Peasants can be good late w/Training.

The earliest stages are most important for good Tier 1's though, so I'd probably guess Sprites if you are careful to not let them get killed.

I don't think you can count all the Skeletons generated by Necro for this question.  Otherwise you'd have to count Gating on the side of Familiars, Elemental Chains on the side of Assassins, etc.

Are you serious about 1st level creatures?
Who really relyies on them?

Best 1st level creature is considerably peasants - you can collect them (in safe place) and they can bring money to you. If you have enough money - you can train them to higher level.

Familiars are not so good for such considerations - you cannot collect enough of them to fight with serious enemy - such enemy will destroy them in first turn on any cost.

Sprites are very useful in battle bacause of abilities - flying, casting, no retalliation and mass-attack - it is more than enough for 1st level.

Voted Sprites. Has anyone ever relied on their Cleansing spell btw? Since they can only cast it once but can cast the wasp spell twice, I never have an opportunity to use it.
