The hardcores and metalcores have similar fashion trends to that of emos so I can't stand them either, but hardcores are more homicidal than suicidal and just want to get into fights. I know a few of these hardcore types myself.

i hav quite a few emo friends and hav been called an emo myself just cos i like alot of the music, not cosv the words tho :S and afterwards i dont go in the kitchen lookin for a knife.
but none of my friends are remotely suicidal or wud contemplate it because of a song.

I think people take their music way too seriously, and it's not just emos either.
I think music should be judged by how it sounds to the listener, and emo music sounds like crap to me.
