Yeah, I liked that feature too.. Heroes 2 towns looked perfectly designed when fully built.. in some h3 towns, it looked like they took the dwellings and put them randomly in the town, without bigger concept. It lacked the art of h2 necro/knight town

i have to agree with you there, the buildings in H3 were put almost anywere
still i always liked the Demons in H3, hey had a building that transported Heroes and/or troops from one Demon town to another, it was good, then i only needed one defending hero

I like the Sylvan town too. The houses with lights hidden in trees and the big tree with the sunset setting is magnificent. OMG! It's just like the Chinese harbors in the old times.

I think Academy which its cloudy image and great music makes it the greatest Fation town besides the others.

In my opinion, the academy is a combination of Ramapart town of H3 and the Sorceress's town of H2.
Both town weren't perfect, but they created the perfect combination.
They took the best sides of every town, and put them inside the Sylvan.
I think the result is wonderful.
The best forest town HOMM ever had. 
(I'm not talking about battles or fighting).
And the design idea is beautiful, too. 
Great work, HOMM5 designers.

Yeah I also love the Sylvan town, but that's probably because I like elves in general (includes dark elves, though their town is wonderful, it's kinda empty at the bottom).
Inferno is also good, but it could be more "hellish" if you know what I mean, Necro is even better, though the music could use some refinement (a bit more scary that is), all in all towns look excellent in my opinion, very well crafted (academy is no exception ). I forgot Haven, which even though it's "standard medieval theme" it's pretty nice designed too.. it's just that no town has the "best" design.
Haven has castle theme -- those that like castles will vote here
Sylvan has wood elf theme -- thoose that like wood elves will vote here (me included)
and etc..
I think all of them are equal in design and details, it just depends which one you like as theme.

I agree.
People should vote after consider not just the town look, also the creatures' look.
And somebody said that Academy creatures look awful.
I disagree. The unupgraded really look bad.
But the upgraded look awsome! They look like one collection!
Same collors, style, basic concept, etc...

Iron golem (mummy-like golem), Mages, Rakshasha Ranis, Colossi (even if Titans are cooler, that doesn't mean Colossi are awful), etc.. who's "awful"
maybe "i don't like them" is a different story, but not awful

Except the fact that they look like a crushed salmon fish, they are pretty good 1st level creature. 
And the reapiar ability is really cute, in my opinion.

Well it was me who said that Academy creatures looks bad but only really bad looking creatures are those Gargoyles!
And i like most non upgradet Academy creatures looks better. Gremlins, Golems and Mages works better for me than the upgradet ones when they seem to have too mutch blue "magical" colors in them.

Actually, in my opinion, the Gargoyles are great looking.
They look like they suppose to look: A flying tombstone.
And their upgrade is very cool.
In all the other versions of heroes, they looked like gray creatures with wings.
Now they fit to their story.

Maybe I'm weird, but I like the appearance of the gargs (obsidians, especially) Only their animation is a bit sucky, but they look cool after all

Yeah i understand their standing when they are stoned but when they fly i think they should "revive" to life and fly whit their wings. How can that stone block wly otherwise?
But all in all creatures in Heroes V looks very good indeed.

According to the stories, Gorgoyles are tombstones that came to live.
That's the whole thing about Gorgoyles!

Haven = Monarchy, DUUHH
Wizards seem more like Aristocrats
Dungeon > Matriarchy.
OT: I like the Haven look really, pretty sun! Simular for Academy. Inferno is.... Too much pit like, I like the falling fireballs, but I don't like the town structure. Same for Dungeon, it's too dark and purple... There should have been a bit more in it.
Sylven I have a love / hate relationship with. Necro : Both depressing and beautifull.
