ICTC: the conflux
i have another town ready, a rehabilitation of the H3 conflux, enjoy.
not for the ICTC
the conflux
genielord did a logo for those factions:
aka: the elemental races
colours: green, orange, red, blue, yellow, purple and white.
worship: all the elemental dragons, including asha.
country: Hashima, the bamboo forest
capitol city: Nariya, the city of the seven spirits
core philosophy: through magic, might and unite, we will win.
motto: we hold no power as individuals, but we are invicible as one!
symbols: a six part yin+yang style symbol
i was thinking that the actual town is elemental creatures (dryads, undines, wisps etc) rather than elementals themselves. elementals are cool, but they lack the sentience to become a actual town (how would they build the buildings if they had no other thought apart from to do their masters bidding( they needed individual thought, rather than just directions)) when i say human, i ment free thinking, with their own personalities, ways of warfare, etc. the Confluxion idea is great, but it should be for the elementals already in HommV, with additional spells to summon manifestations and spirits.
the elementals live on the junglish island of Hashima. they are a proud race, who tend to get one everyones nerves because of their arrogance. they worship all the elemental dragons, and also Asha. they have been around since the creation of the world, and know alot about their history. they are ruled over by the emporer, who is elected by the congression of elemental masters (the elementalist to you and me) and the elemental spirits.
history in a nutshell:
from the seculeded island of Nariya, the elemental races watched and wept for the lives of the living being lost in the wars on mainland Ashan. they watched as warriors fell and inch by inch, the races of the world are destroyed themselves. the emperor looked on, a grim frown on his face. finally, he dispatched a force of peace keepers to mainland Ashan, to help restore the peace. the Elementals were universally recognised, in the anicent times, as a intelligent, harmonious race, who were often the voice of reason in times of strife.
however, when the peace keepers landed, they where mistaken by some demons as comming to help the forces of good, and brutally butchered, their entrials (they have them, they just are slightly more elemental than normal) posted on the coast that they landed, a sure sign that the anicent times were coming to an end.
the Emporer, along with almost all of the elemental races, was horrified, and emediatly send a message to their nearest allies, the Elves of Irollan, the Naga of (insert place here, Lost Palaedra would be appropriate) and the dwarves of Grimheim to help push back the demon forces. they sent some vast Citedals (they sort of warp, kind of like using teleportation, but on a much grander scale) to secure the mainland for the elemental races arival.
all elementals are human like, with a japanese culture. each element has a patron spirit who is a particular animal. as the elemental progress (upgrades) they begin to look like that animal.
byuuji- fox spirit and lord of the air elementals (slyphs)
Hewila- tiger spirit and lady of the light elementals (wisps)
Nibina- dolphin spirit and lady of the water elementals (undines)
Gumnuo- panda spirit and lady of the earth elementals (dryads)
Shadwo- gecko spirit and lord of the shadow elementals (changelings)
Raknas- horse spirit and lord of the fire elementals (efreets)
the emporer- ruler of all the elementals and patron of the magic elementals (pheonixs)
Hashima also has a much more advanced system of elementals. the elemental races and the elementals made an ancient blood pact (you get the drift) which enabled the elementalists to summon elementals in their most needed hour. further study into this allowed the elementalists to combine the elementals to form more powerful creatures.
hero: elementalist
attack: 0 defence: 0 spellpower: 3 knowlegde: 2
raical ability: elementalism (storing destructive spells in allies of the same element, releasing them when the stack is killed)
units
wisp-> wisp geisha
wisps are the light elementals, and are the most numerous. they cannot attack, but use the light, reflected of their mirrors, to dazzle the opponenet and temporeally blind them.
(small, armed with a large mirror, shooter, dazzles enemy, upgrade can heal allies): light house
Slyph-> slyph trickster
slyphs are light hearted creatures of air and wind. they are creative, playful, quick thinking creatures that attack with their bowstaffs.
(small, armed with a bowstaff, flyer, upgrade is incorpeable): Aerial workshop
undine-> undine Oban
Undines are the solemn, studious creatures of water. they are seldom smiling, but they are always armed with longbows on the battlefeild.
(small, armed with a recurve bow and arrows, shooter, upgrade can cast some dark magic): watery pagoda
efreet-> efreet samurai
efreets are the embodyment of the fierce fire. large and imposing, they float across the battlefiel with twin swords, dealing damage and destruction only their element can.
(large, armed with twin samurai swords, walker, upgrade can teleport and cast fireball): fiery Dojo
dryad-> dryad sumo
Dryads are the kind, loving, earth creatures. they are large and corpulent, with a loving face and powerful arms. they are able to wrestle a knight of his horse.
(large, bare hands, walker, upgrade can heal and use stone spikes): ring of earth
changeling-> changeling shinobi
the Changelings are the silent creatures of shadow. quiet, shaded and swift, they dart across the battlefeild, sending knives into the enemy.
(small, armed with a myraid of knives, walker, upgrade can turn invisible and can cast phantom forces): shadowy shrine
pheonix-> pheonix ronin
pheonixes are the embodiement of magic. huge wings carry them into the battlefield, powerful spells leap from their fingers, and terrible claws take the enemies lives.
(large, bare hands, wings and claws (karate), flyer/spellcaster, upgrade is just better): temple of magic
elementalism
basic elementalism: places a destructive spell within any creature on the battlefield
advanced elementalism: places two destructive spell within any two creature on the battlefeild
expert elementalism: places two destructive spell within one creature on the battlefeild
ultimate elementalism: places four destructive spell within 2 creature on the battlefeild.
just a few ideas for the japanese elemental faction. more coming soon

In fact, Daystar clearly stated that you should NOT use it.
Daystar and I have for a very long time been working on our own Conflux concept.
I don't see any idea in repeating my oppinion about this one, but please do not include our ideas for your town without asking permission, and please delete it from the original post.

Thank you. To be fair, what you did is not the same as what KD does, because you did list your sources, and that's fine. But since I'm having other wishes for the Conflux, I'd like to save at least the part I'm involved with for my own faction.

I agree, this doesn't look like a traditional conflux - pure elementals.
It has a spiritual base - I like it {I think there is an entry in the first ICTC based around the asain spirit idea - I'll try to dig it up for you}.
It won't take much to rename it if you want to, and make a new logo.
The history is well written  although the English teacher in me cringes at the lack of capitalisation... Do you think you could write in word or something that will automatically do this for you if the shift key is too bothersome  {sorry, slap me }
I'm looking foward to seeing this town grow
And some original conflux towns from the rest of you

Is every Conflux town supposed to have Elemental's in it or something?
I would like to see a Conflux town which isn't so overpowered like the damn one in HOMM3, although I have always liked the Conflux town

the theory behind the elemental races was that the elementals themselves are not only summonables (which would really screw the balancing if the hero had the summon elementals) but also have no degree of sentience! they can't decide what goes where, they have to have a master to do that form them. i didn't want that, as it would be too similar to dungeon with elemental chains.
the elemental races are, and i've done my research, proper elementals. the only ones that i've changed are gnomes(dryads are much cooler when it comes to names) and salamanders (everyone knows the efreet). this gave them a descent amount of sentience, but retain their elemental nature, which i think is needed in an elemental conflux.
Kookastar, i have seen Amatsu before, and i think its one of the best researched factions. i used alot of it for inspiration for how the spirits would look. Byuuji, the fox spirit, has nine tails like a Kitsune, and Raknas, the dragon spirit, has similarities with a Kirin.
i'm not entering it in the ICTC, by the way, but this is just one for fun!

I have thought about it - more than once.
I also remember how many hours I spent on that entry, and really can't justify that now when there is so much spamming to do.
