Hi. I have played H3 on and off for about 5 years, but I am only now beginning to understand it. I would go online, except I don't have the L337 skillz required to do things like open utopias week 2, build up fast, chain heroes, etc. I am browsing the Table of Contents for help threads on this. Also, I can only play for three hours a week(grrrrrr!) so I couldn't do any big games. Also, I have always liked fortress, and am attempting to train with it. Thanks

I looked at the saves of my game but something was wrong since I saved during my opponent's turn and he seemed to have 1 day less to build angels + castle first week but he did it nevertheless. Anyway, sure he should have beaten me on week 3 with that army ha could assemble . Still I would like to know if people play also usually without cons and hives (only armies from their castles) and then when is it normal to break (win with little casualties vs horde of nagas or throng of cyclops like in my case).

I'd like to know also why is it forbidden to start with a Necropolis town  while necromancy still allowed? I'd like to play with Necropolis as well  and not using necromancy skill at all if necessary maybe even not using the skeletton transformer .

I put the patch that allows to have crypts on lava and forbids cons and hives but what happens when I play an online game? Will the host decide the settings or will there be a conflict of versions?

Ok, last question : I had a training game on Jebus template where I saw a giant dwelling. I had the choice to open it with main army but losing many gremlins in the process or losing 2 heroes (one with +350 gold/day and the other +1 mercury/day to soften the 3 giants to 1 giant. What solution would you choose or other? I decided ti finally attack straitforward with main army to keep the heroes alive.

Maybe this is not the right thread to post these questions?

Always save on your turn. If u save during opponent's turn, u save YOUR former turn, coz u still miss the data of his current turn, which will come to u when he presses "end turn".

The main rule refering to cons and hives currently is: All cons and hives allowed, but NOT allowed to upgrade the reward.

Standard breaking on jebus (L) nowadays is day 11-14 (with Castle). This will be tough to do if u didn't find any cons / hives or level 7 dwellings though.

Chosing a necro town to play with is just a matter of rules u make with your opponent. If u don't use a necro hero at all, there should be no problem with that.

The patches the HOST has put into his data folder work during the game. That's why the host should always tell the other players which patches are present.

Money is not that essential on jebus, coz u have tons of it. If u see a level 7 dwelling, u should flag it as soon as possible to any costs. But if u attack on day 6/7 week 1, I don't see a problem killing those 3 giants with only few losses. Sacrifying 5k gold and a wandering mine is pretty expensive.

Thanks for the replies .

I lost +- 20 gremlins vs the 3 giants finally. I had 4 mages, some gargs, 3 golems, +- 80 gremlins and 22 pixies. I didn't have so much gold because one of my roads was blocked by an horde (nearly a throng) of magogs and I don't like to restart .

Well, I have to find an opponent now, enough training

Ah, I forgot to mention that I met a closed situation with Necropolis. There was no way out of my starting town. Pack of angels guarding a windmill, I though I had to go through the windmill to exit but no way. There was a pandora box in the way and no way to take it too. Maybe it's possible from other side? Anyway it happens to be completely blocked with ramdoms
