Theres nothing as devastating as well timed and well placed Expert berserk ))

Of the spells that are used more often, i would say haste and slow are good choices

Fire magic - Berserk, Frenzy, Blind, Curse, Armageddon and Sacrefice
Water magic - Clone, Prayer, Bless, Teleport, Cure.
Air magic - Haste, Chain Lightning, Fly, Precision.
Earth magic - Slow, Shield, Implosion, Resurection, Town Portal.

Verry good is (Expert) Sacrifice, because you get the hit points you get are more then the ones you sacrificied. Works extremly well when sacrificing low level units (with little HP). Maths will be our friend.


Let's take the situation of sacrificing a stack of 350 Master Gremlins with a Wizard having Spell Power 10 (and that's not even a high value.) Well, let's say you want to ressurect Titans. The gremlins have in total 1400 Hp, the same ammount of HP like 4 Titans and a half.

The Expert Sacrifice's formula is (Power+Destroyed Creature's Base Health+10)*number of Creatures Sacrificied. In English, the Hp you get to ressurect is the Number of Sacrificied Creatures (350 in our case), multiplied by the sum of the Power (10), Creature's Base Health (4) and 10.

This is 350*(10+4+10)=8400!!! And this is enough not to ressurect 4 Titans and a half, but an astounishing number of 28 Titans!!!!!! And that means that you get 7 times what you spent.

Final result: 350 Master gremlins for 28 Titans!!!!!!

As a trivia fact, in the situation I shown, you actually traded 12.5 Gremlins for a Titan.


So, when used on a little health creature stack, Expert Sacrifice is an incredible spell.

Yeah, it is very cheap and early available. Perfect for Barbarianlike heroes or defending Druid and/or Wizards

and Ciele (who is the best hero(ine) in the game)

probably the most frequently used spell ever; invauable for the earlygame

I also wish to add: Weakest spell: Force fields enemies just walk/fly around them or cast remove obstackle on nearby obstackles, removing its essential use. I prefer Mine and Firewall and even Quicksand to Force fields

Therefore

Most powerfull: Implosion
Most usefull: Magic Arrow
My favourite: Prayer
Least usefull: Force fields

Force Field is the least usefull spell?

Here's a fight I just did a couple of days ago. Force Field is the ONLY way to win this fight. I used the devils, but the titans work also. Or you have room for both if you want.

As you can see, the enemy can't walk behind it if you place the Force Field correctly.

yes... I love forcefield.
Although we rarely get battles that we have to use forcefield...
and that battle with the magic eles... you can win without field if you hold orb of vulnerability =) (so technically there is more than 1 way of winning that battle )

But wouldn't least useful be the ones you never cast? When was the last time you used Misfortune or Summon Boat?

I don't know about most powerful, but I've always had a soft spot for Expert Berserk. If only because it's so rare to have. I almost never take Fire Magic. I would if I knew for sure I was getting Berserk, but you can't always know in time. I remember one game I had both Expert Berserk and the Orb of Vulnerability. Nice!

Hmmm.. is this true? I'm not quite sure ab it...maybe i am wrong, angel what do you have to say ab it? Donno how to calculate it but kinda weird differences...

Hi

For me, most powerful spells are

1)Town portal : so many advantages
- we can reload in mana when we want sleeping in castle end of turn, while also keeping only the fastest troop (which enables the main to walk with all troops even those that are too slow)
- we can leave the shooters or others in the castle, go fight an utopia, and keep them back after without the need of a scout that follows the main, and which end of game is very often much slower than him, and can not follow.
- we don't have any risk to be blocked by the opponent and not be able to join the new troops from the week.
2)Mass Prayer in final fight
3)Mass slow in fights against the map
4)Mass haste against shooters to have zero losses, or in final fight in which speed and playing first is very important. But I prefer mass prayer, because most of the time, if we use mass haste, we receive mass slow from the other. At least with mass prayer, we still have more defense , attack , and slow does not remove the prayer like it does for haste.

hehe I won that fight vs the magic elementals with 2 stacks of Archdevils (one to lure, the other to wait and attack) and changing sometimes their roles. No force field needed but looong fight and of course reload to find the good position of the 2 stacks of AD...hum So I say, best spell is ....reload

As mentioned above, this map is called "To kill for Power". One of better XL+U singleplayer maps with good stroyline and great fights. Same league as "Unleashing the Bloodthirsty", "The Empire of the World II", "The Lord of War", "The Lone Knight" and some more....

And u have a bunch full of Inferno towns on that map, besides a bunch full of devil dwellings. Map ends (iirc) in month 8.
