Probably the name should be different to avoid confusion.
Like "flying tombstone" or "animated tombstone"

Yes, because it's might be very confusing.
Because the Gargoyle that symbolizes the death is the same one that VokialBG is talking about.
It's the same one that was in H2 and H3.
The original one, comes from a tombstone.
That's the one that there is is H5.
And not many people know that this is the original, and the death's one came from Spiderman series.
From there comes VokialBG picture.
And that's might look prettier, but it's still not the original.
That's the real story. Sorry Vok.

Edited (after I saw Vok's post):
The outside-of-tombstone Gargoyle is a different version of the Gargoyle!
The actuall Gargoyle is a flying tombstone!
Not the creature that in the tombstone!

I did prefer earlier versions of titans theme-wise but these look and feel great. The animations, sounds, contemptuous gaze and sheer size make them stand out!

You may be right. But look that in HV Colossi and Titans are totally different creatures than in previous parts.
Previously they were a kind of princes, Lords of Thunders, but now it's said they are the greatest mages' work. In description of Collosus is even said that he was produced in way similar to golem.

So I belive that new look fits this description perfectly - they look like a impessive constructs, but still only constucts.

And about gargoyles, I think they look funny and that's why I like them (never wanted to be hit by stone slab)

I agree with every word.
(And that's basicly some of the things I said in the first post).

Gargoyles are awsome, in my opinion.
Accept of the fact that the finally did the Gargoyles the actual creature is funny and supriseful.

The Titan is great.
This time, they did it really megical.
Without him, will be something missing in the academy.

Well, I got tired of GenieLord and VokialBG fighting each other without providing any proof so I checked wikipedia to see what the gargoyle REALLY is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gargoyle

As you can see it's not a tombstone but a construction to throw water from the roof. In fiction it is always described more or less like the homm 2 and 3 gargoyle.

And The Winner Is .... VokialBG!!!

But this article wrote after Spiderman was broadcasted
In Spiderem, they changed the Gargoyle's idenity.
Try to find articles before the series was broadcast.
Mabey old one. Like 50 years old.

Come on now, GenieLord, you don't really suggest that one comic book/cartoon series change the whole meaning of the word?
And besides, if you're saying something it would be very nice if you could back that up.

yEs Genielord you should post more of these design post (cannot remember you said if people wanted that)...

And i actully never really liked the gargoyle designs through out the HoMM timeline, HoMM2 was a bit weird made... HoMM3 A bit to alive like and to less stony... HoMM4 UGLY UGLY UGLY, just like the rest of that gang :S, HoMM5 A new design finally after long time just sad its so weird done...I just hasn't seen a gargoyle holding a tablet, though their dwelling is awesome, it really fits well in the Academy picture ...

Long time ago in this post someone said that the golems should be boxing againg, i really like these guys, though the normal golem has a half sword and a whole? for what reason? well they are awesome and the sword is great new thing...

Actually the HOMM5 Gargoyles are supposed to be statues animated -- statues mean it is not organic or something flexible, and on wikipedia the gargoyle seems to have somewhat be like the HOMM5 gargoyle. It's probably from that gargoyle Nival borrowed, not the "monster in the night" thing.

I agree that both versions are gargoyles, but now it depends on Nival and which one of them they choose for the game.. and yeah I think the real statue appeared before the myth of the "night gargoyles".

Everyone happy?

Btw: Notice this strange thing: Why do the Djinn heroes (Nur, Galib) have heads while the creatures don't?

Galib is the way that the creators show the Djinns' head.
Under this round plate.

I guess that the Djinns speak with summoned low and deep voice.

True, I have found incorrect things there occasionally.
But I had read somewhere some things several years ago.My memory is a bit fuzzy but I remember the basics which were as Geny said.

The genie heroes have gained a little thing called: "You-can-take-off-your-hat-because-your-a-hero-and-not-a-creature" skill ... What worse is they are looking like humans when they are on their elefants

(about that: The female dwarf heroes, on map they have a huge beard, what a awfull to look at)

In LotR, female dwarves have beards

Nival probably were inspired by the "statue that throws water" with a bit of "tombstone" style in it rather than the "fictional gargoyles".
