"Okay, here we go.

The Dwarven issue for the original maps is fixed: you can now play Dwarven heroes on the original maps and they get runes and dwarven abilities and stuff. Repeat: Issue is fixed!

Second: Haven training will allow 7 units per week to train with Training Grounds and 20 after you upgrade it to Hall of Heroes.

Third: Necro Skeleton raising works in principle like before, however, there's a cap called "Dark Energy". A Necro player gets an amount of Dark Energy each week depending on a) Heroes and their level and b) a few dwellings. If you raise skeletons after a battle you have to pay dark energy for it. While I played a few turns in the Island for one's own map to see the exact numbers, I didn't get into it too deep because I'm currently more interested in checking the effect of the changed resource demands for the Dwarves. Anyway, I think, that I'd have been able to raise a bit more than 100 Skeletons in the first week. That would have been more in the second week due to my hero gaining experience and levels.
A really interesting detail is the fact that the Necromany description has been changed from "raising the dead opponents to SKELETONS to raising them to OWN SOLDIERS. While this may mean nothing at all, it may mean that you can raise maybe some or specific creatures to other units. This is further supported by the fact that it doesn't simply cost 1 point of dark energy to raise a Skelly, but two. Now, this could simply mean that it costs 2 points to raise a skelly and 3 to raise an Archer, but it could mean that you raise to zombies or gosts or whatever as well. I'm going to check this today or tomorrow and will keep you informed."

Oh, the Necromancy stuff sounds REALLY interesting!

Training sounds like an improvement. But wouldn't it have been obvious to make the same principle apply for Haven? Light Energy?

Finally someone really sees that "nerf marksmen" or "nerf Dougal" was a REALLY WRONG statement, instead it was training's power that caused imbalance, therefore the entire town + hero skills (not Dougal's specific, mind you), like I wrote so many times Now training gives only +20 marksmen per week maximum..

But I'm disappointed by them, because it was such a long wait... and still some balance issues are still left unfixed!

I like the concept with dark energy. I really hope you can raise other creatures as well, I don't want those all-I-need-are-skellies armies anymore!!
About training: The cap of 7 and 20 creatures/week would make it a lot weaker, but I think it's ok because Haven is good enough even with this cap. Besides you can't let your peasants pile in your town and train them all within one day anymore which I think is good.

Light energy to train humans? Sounds funny!

Anyway I love the concept of dark energy and the changes to the racials. I almost didn't expect changes in fundamentals after so long.

Yeah, I know it sounds a bit funny, but it would have been an obvious way to make it depend on Hero level instead of just being a plain number (I cannot judge whether 20 is a good or a bad number, but it would seem to me that higher numbers for stronger Heroes would be better). Of course, time will have to show how Dark Energy works - whether you only raise skeletons, or possibly other creatures as well - but if the latter is the case, you should be able to transfer it directly to Haven.

Training is good to a fixed number because training does NOT depend on the neutrals & enemy creatures killed, it is permanently a source of growth income. Necromancy on the other hand requires to defeat some enemies first. That's why it is weaker in general, even though you might say training does cost gold, overall the gold is not really a problem. Growth is

Besides, the Counter-strike skill (Advanced & Expert) offers no bonus to training, while Necromancy does.. so it's kinda weird to grow by hero power (training), or am I wrong?

and who ever said he is imba?

"dougal abuse" or "marksmen abuse" means taking dougie and abusing training, it doesn't mean dougal is imbalanced, cuz he is exactly the same as every other creature specialist in the game..

Well, training limited to 20 units seems very good to me. Still, dougal+training marksmen combo will be strong, but no longer game-breaking. Definitely a good change.

About the skellies.. sounds, well.. weird. I hope it does not cripple the undead faction.

Good points there. Maybe I got a bit carried away in my search for systems and symmetry. But then - it would still be cool to have a powerfull Hero being able to train more units than a low-level one.

At last the training to other units than Marksmen will be available! Because 20 Paladins, for example, are MUUCH better than 20 Marksmen, but cost a lot more. This will be interesting indeed

Yeah, now perhaps it will be useful not only to train peasants to archers, but also to priests, paladins etc...

44 marksmen per week ain't strong, yes. But with dougal they still dish as much damage as black dragons So, I wouldn't say the strategy is bad

At least no more of the ridiculous 3500 damage per week thing is possible..

Never said Dougal is a bad hero. IMHO he is like the others too (specialized heroes), dunno why Irina adds the Battle Dive bonus though (cheats ).

At last we'll see some conscripts flourish within the Haven army

well, Irina is very fun.. you can destroy any shooter with her without loses (ok, save the toughest - arch liches, inquisitors etc) and even casters can get seriously HURT.. And a bit of extra defense is never wrong for a not-so durable haven unit.

Ylthin also cheats 'cause she starts with 1 Unicorn. (tier 5?)
Why Sorgal does not start with a Dark Raider?
And Eruina should start with a Shadow Witch, Klaus with a Paladin, etc (i know it will break the balance)
