what is after death?
depressing subject, i know, but i want to know what people think is after death!
i believe that it is a constant reincarnation. like the atoms in are bodies, are spirits are never created nor are they destroyed, by continue around a cicle of life, and when you die, you are reborn in the form of another, and yet you have no memories of your previous life.
my friend believes something a little different. he believes that there are 10 planes of existance, and that we must spend 100year in each (reincarated over and over again) and then move onto the next one, going downwards. the one below us is the fire and brimstone hell, where war is fought constantly over land, pride, food, terriorty or just for fun. the one below that is a world where beasts rule and control magic. the one below that is the pleasure paradise (sex, drugs, lust, gluttony, greed, all taken to extremes), and so on. we are level 2, so we have a hell of a way to go.
meh, thats our veiws, what about you?

what's after me?? can't tell you, I'll ruin the surprise.
now seriously, I think we will end out of time and space -- most people when thinking of Heaven or Hell think that it is almost like this normal world.. I believe it is totally different, without time and space as we know them... you can't even imagine it, no one can

Peace
No more problems like in your life. Now what kind of peace? A peace of "nothing" or a warm feeling around your soul? Probably the first one, but the second one is a nicer thought. Sometimes I have that thought and it takes away the fear from death, at least for me that is. It helps just to imagine it even though you actually don't believe in it.
About the thing with the atoms: Well probably the atoms your body used to consist of will someday be part of another organism, but will really you be a part of this organism? I don't think so, but who knows. If we could just discover what life actually is...

If we were supposed to know that, then we'd know that... But God decided it would be way funnier to watch us think about heaven, hell, bird-headed people, 8-handed elephants, scarabs, minotaurs, tentacle things, honest politicians and other senseless mythological stuff... We can just hope that God will one day get tired of laughing and let us see what really happens. I don't think it'll be something we like, though...
After saying this, I hope He doesn't condemn me to eternity in hell... Not because of torture. I just couldn't stand all those f*cking lawyers there...

And what will your little cross help you? Death is not a demon or other being of malice. Death does not kill. He is the man in the boat, helping you cross to the other side. But first of all, Death is a humanlike form associated with a natural process by humanity. You cannot excorcise the wind.

The only way to tell what happens in the afterlife is what your beliefs are. Personally, even though I'm not a devout religious individual, I believe that I come back as someone else, somewhere else in the world.

After death? You'll probably decay into the soil which will then be absorbed by a tree which will grow and then die and decay into the soil which will then be used to fertilize a farm which will make potatoes which a woman will eat and then she will get pregnant and her food (you) will turn into a baby.
Kinda like reincarnation, except alot more boring

I guess since this is in the Tavern, my answer needs to be after I've had a few.
I suppose a large part of your post-death experience is spent watching helplessly as your descendents grow horns and fight each other for your possessions.
