why not heroes 3 toh?
I don't understand why people are comparing H3 and H5 in this topic. Some people like H3 and some H5 and some like both, but that's not the point. The point is why Heroes 3 TOH had to be closed when there are apparently people (myself included) who would love to keep playing heroes 3 for TOH like we've been doing it for many years? Everything that's needed to run it is already there so no new investment is needed. Activity may be lower than in the past, but who cares. Just turn it on!

By the way my comparison between homm 3 and homm 5 came from a fact that guys that led prestige tournie online for homm 3 decided "just like that" that homm 5 is so much better that they turned off homm 3, not to say that toh had longest tradition for thousands of player that been playing it. For one person its just a click with a mouse, than for a lot of people is loosing a cool place to play homm 3 online like they did for years.

Just from the quote above, I see you don't know your facts. There is no 'guys', I've been running ToH pretty much solo since its inception, every day, including expenses. You make it sound like its a corporation of paid employees lol.
I've gone through the reasons why so many times -- and each time a new name like yourself will appear out of nowhere, and start complaining again. Why is it that I haven't seen you play for homm3 ToH -- ever? Now you appear, and complain? If you only had the patience, determination, & stamina to keep something running non-stop since 1998, I would give you credit. But you are another keyboard warrior in a certain phase of his life.
But have no fear. I am planning a homm3 integration for the 2-5 players who will submit win/loss reports for homm3. I doubt you will submit one game Valan... when I incorporate homm3 into ToH again. In fact, I challenge any person on this thread who is whining about the lack of homm3 on ToH to play one game of homm3 ToH when this happens.

Looks like you didnt let go than Vesuvius (i was hoping for what you just said  ). To reply to a question how much determination to the game i had/have, what to say i play homm for solid 17 years now - if nothing number of years shows my interest in game. I played toh under several different char names but solo game was never my true love so i played more on www until mr Xavier decided to leave his site for another game and we all know who did all the work there anyways - Azure Majesty. So unfortunately after things in personal life of that person www practicaly died. I liked team play better thats what i mean. Anyway i believe i played about 1500 games on toh throuought the years. For your comment that tells you did most of work yourself, i understand that, i ran different call them projects online that would have been much easier if there were ppl that project could have lean on instead of myself only. Actualy years ago i tought of you as only guy that have a real passion for homm 3 out of all tournie leaders and have no ppl that can follow and support the job with their efforts. There is many alternatives like where and how to meet online, even own servers could be built so noone depends on places like zone spy ubi etc. Homm is a great game and i think theres a number of people if united in work could make a realy good place online for homm playing whichever part of homm series. Things change, new games come up like mmorpg trend and much more apealing graphics all in all. I believe thats a part of reason why ppl play and dont play homm in general on a side of them living their personal lives. But non the less even time goes by, homm is still the best turn based game and i believe ppl will get to it again. Theres ppl among us wth skills that could help build a realy cool and strong place online i believe. Its all matter of comunication and leaving a chance for open comunication. I have few machines myself that i use online 24/7 (would put them to work for homm if needed), throuought the years i picked up a different knowledge about some porgramming in c and c++ ( not that im a pro) and used it in irc mostly. Mentioning that, irc is a great comunity for meetings. Its kinda plain simple screen you get for chat but that can be changed too (i implemented animations in it).It can be made so Homm can start from a client for irc that would practicaly give us a place for chat + place for starting games like zone had. Its just a suggestion as i spent a lot of time in irc networks ( i still do) but i understand that other kinds of servers could be programmed its that irc is free and it is already there (since the day one of internet). Irc clients are programed so you can connect them to other programs. I run my whole windows through a irc client for example and it would be easy to implement few drop down menus for heroes like i dunno, start the game, scores, connect me to tox for example etc. All im saying theres various things that could be done inside of it, and i know thats just irc story how about all other possibilites and on and on. Always i tought it takes right people to make it all happent and it is realy hard (close to impossible) to do it alone. So you have my admiration for what you did, my comments or call it a needle went to a fact that you disconnected homm 3 for what i understand small number of visits to a toh homm 3 community and i understand that but still i wass disapointed as it was what i believed a good retreat place any given time for homm 3 players. I will check toh periodicaly and will play homm 3 games on it too (for that matter), i guess would be out of question to ask for more right now, something like tribes was on www. Anyways im happy to hear that you dont let go i believed you did. Thanx for your reply and of all of you ppl.

What can i say? I'm glad you like it...even though it is not a romanian site... it has support for romanian language, it will have for france too (mayby even german it depends if I can translate it or not). But the main reason for starting that project was exactelly the topic here: TOH volunatarely closed Heroes 3 support. I was so upset, i got only 2 years of playing online and i was so glad to do it! it was an amazing experience, and ON LRH, i simply made that dream come back!. Sorry toh for that! I will always respect TOH, but I will allways play hoom 3!.

That would be so nice... i knew you're from Germany...but i never though you would have time for such a huge work...I would be delighted if you would help me out here!! I already found a france translator... the site it is 60% here...
