Well, it is a combination of three different creatures, (dragon,lion,scorpion) but it looks a bit like it's...glued together. The colors change too sudden, from orange to white! That's just awkward. Maybe they should give it a more darker color?
I don't think it was really necessary in this game. I did notice that a lot of Dungeon creatures were replaced in the 5th edition, but I didn't specifically miss the Manticore.

I don't know why don't u like Arctic Manticore! I don't find it bad-made. Maybe you are afraid of its human-look face? None of us would say, that he/she is afraid. We all rather want to say that something is stupid, or bad-made

Gargoyle, it is horrible. Okay the concept is kinda unique but never the less it looks bad. :/
Here is the garqoyle I would like to see.
It looks more devilish and beastial, it's great. H3 garqoyles resembled this bad ass. 
And here's the original.
As you can see it looks devilish too not so scary as the above one but not defianetly the one we see in Heroes today.
Any other units which I find bad? Well the Djinss, alright again they have this unique look but the presentation is bad. Big hats covering the whole head and face.

yeah,i know this has been a long time ago,but the beta version treants look exactly like the stone golems,in that game knight online,and they lack leaves

I have to say the Lich line are some of the worse. Maybe somthing to do with the fact it looks like they have the old style dresses on (the hoop type).
One of the weirdest looking have to be the Imp line. Looks like their face got caught in a skillet that was hot at the time or something. Pancake faces (almost) ftw  . The new gremlins looke a bit odd too.

The liches look freaking awesome and their attack animation where they summon a staff into their hand and fire it is top class too.

Liches look real good. Academy creatures OTOH... What is wrong with gargoyles? I can get used to genies and titans but gargoyles are appalling.

I must agree with some of the people pointing to the gargoyle.
I don't know what triggered the artists to create a flying gravestone.
They could at least put "I am Providence" sign on it.

This is my list for really bad creatures.
1. Is the worst.
10. Lich
9. Lava Dragon
8. Hydra
7. Emerald Dragon
6. Treants
5. Zombie
4. All Necropolis Alternate Upgrades.
3. Horned Leaper (not sure if they are called it anymore)
2. All Red Stronghold creatures.
1. Gargolyte
Liches has weeding dresses and are too big, they dont look scary.
There are hundreds of better Lich concepts out on the intrenet and in other games.
However they got the 10th place, which is the best in this list, because they can be so cool with their animations, all their animations.
Lava Dragons because they look weird and strange.
It oisnt really ugly, but it looks strange.
Hydra, because it looks like a 100 year old woman with lots of necklaces etc.
Emerald Dragon, thats a way TO GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know its an emerald dragon but its looks so weird.
Treants, okey i like that they dont walk so slowwwwwww liek the beta Treants but they are still one of the ugliest creatures in the game.
But now, they walk to fast!
THIS IS NOT HOW A TREE LOOKS LIKE AN WALKS LIKE!
Zombie, i thougt that Peasants was funny and okey so i didnt include them but Zombies!!!
My cat cries... and they walk slow too, i almost kill myself when i see these beasts.

Seriously, 99% of all people on this little forum HATES them.
Even me!
Their looks, their animations, their stolen sound etc.
EVERYTHING IS KILLING ME!
But i must say one happy thing, all the Haven creatures look good

The gargoyle isnt that bad, except its animation, it really sucks, its like it has a broken wing or something, the worst for me is the Emerald Dragon, the treant looks wierd, when it walks, it looks like its in pain or on fire.
I have 5 models that i think are awesome, the Archlich(he looks pimp), the Seraph/Fallen Angel, the Vindicator(just awesome), the green dragon(its so much better than the Emerald Dragon), and the Titan(I really only have one problem, the hair due is just hilarious)
If i had to pick between the 5, i would pick the Vindicator, dunno why, but he looks awesome and really pissed off, its like a squire gone bad
My favorite is the Battle Mage, the Banshee comes close

Ugliest creature is definitely the Treant. It looks like and skitters like a crab or something. If you're gonna make a tree-giant, then make a tree-giant not a crab. Beta treants are awesome and I'm so glad the mods work even in single-player campaigns; I wouldn't be able to stomach playing the game with those crabby treants.
Nival why did you not use the beta treants? I don't see the copyright infringement; no one can really say they were copying off Peter Jackson's Ents, because everyone for the past 100 years have been drawing tree people like that. You got scared and made a bad decision.

I dunno, theyre not that bad, a little odd yes, but deffiantly not the worst. Worst is definatly gargoyles and treants. Have any of you seen the marble gargoyles? They move even slower than the normal ones! It takes forever for them to move their max movement range. Thank god there are mods to fix the treant though.

The academy gargoyle is the exact polar opposite of the insanely fast red gargoyle of Capcom's Ghosts N' Goblins. Who here remembers (and hates) that thing?
I understand the decision for the academy gargoyle; the classic gargoyle looks too close in theme to inferno. Besides, the academy design is cute, and its ridiculous flight is funny. It'd be even funnier if it lands on ppl's heads and that's its attack.

Seroiusly now the elementals are pathetic.Except for the earth and let's say the water elemental, the other two are by far the most ugliest.When I first saw them I began laughting...

i hate stonegay lol
for the lich i like the standard but after the upgrade i hate the white dress .. bone dragon - ghost dragon - spectwhatever dragon
is so stupid .. i never felt so terrified like that moment when i saw bone dragons of heroes 3 seriously .. it was freaky !
actually i hate how all dragons stand on four feet .. i liked it in H3 when they were on two .. they looked cool and feared but now even black drgons i dont fear it coz its small when it stands in front of archdevil
