LRH or WCL??

Do you play one of them? Which one and why?
Do you play both of them? Why?
Do you play neither of them? Why?

To start this thread off,I will mke a few obvious comments about both sites!

WCL was created by Sag ,a long time player of H3 who started WCL because of his commitment to the game,he used the basic template of Wizards and Warriors to found his site and has expanded upon it.Sag has a record as a recent and current H3 player and as such will have been as dissapointd as the rest of us when TOH closed(now reopened).

LRH was created by Cosmin(cpcos)and has been programmed from scratch ,it is beautifully designed and obviously took a lot of work to get running!

Do these sites need to be in competition together or can they work well side by side?

Well Yes! I did program LRH from scratch, and i hope it is well designed!

But i will add here THE MOST IMPORTANT REASONS OF BUILDING LRH! They seem to be a mystery yet, so I'll try to clear things up:

1. I loved TOH - a nice design, good statistic information, an environment that tends to make people play and then see RANKINGS page and be so proud when their names were found there! - But Toh PRIVATIZED this sector (tournament) and we were all left unemployed!

2. I like it when a thing is done from top to bottom - that is, having features implemented, having a strong back up on every detail that runs into that site, a cool graphic environment, some diversification on rankings display, A GOOD AND COMPLETE PROFILE, and last but not least REALLY COOL PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT JUSTICE AND VOLUNTARY INVOLVE THEMSELF INTO THIS HUGE PROJECT!

3. I love heroes 3 and I've been playing this game for 9 years now - 3 years in online gamming -

I could add here many other reasons but... I think that would make this post too big and boring.

I'll say only one thing more: I worked at LRH for 1 full year before I've opened it, and I can say for sure that LRH is running very well and there are no mistakes at any calculation forms.

I wish you all my best and I hope you'll realy enjoy LRH because it has been made FOR YOU, ALL HEROES 3 PLAYERS!

I don't wanna be rude especially against you SAG! I wrote how I built LRH and what's the purpose of building it... This is hardly an "advertisement"... I don't think that "independent opinions" could explain my motivations, or could they?

As far as I'm concerned, feel free to do the same! Having two new H3 tournaments should be a positive thing for players, because it's always better to have choices. I don't perceive LRH and WCL as rivals. I view them as tools for the same great purpose. However, if you prefer rivalry to cooperation, that's your option and I respect it.

Hello nice people there!

I knew about Cosmin' plan from its roots and was beside him in the later part of his work and helped him a bit here and there, at least with some minor advices for perfecting certain features of the site. I know he has done a GREAT work and put all his effort into this magnificent project, which for me is BETTER than TOH was. Honestly: I have too little a contribution to feel a part of it entirely, so I think I can be as objective as a reasonable man can be. I'll surely vote for LRH any time as the best one, at least until I'll see a superior tournament than this one (honestly, I don't think there can be major improvements to this, it has it all).

About WCL... Well, I was very surprised to see WW page when first opening the link, but thought it could be a lucrative idea (if permission asked from former WW Admins) to do something fast to keep H3 lovers into action. Since LRH was a bit late due to lack of time Cosmin had, WCL "stole" the players to its place. But unfortunately for WCL, it cannot compare to LRH, I personally feel irritated each time I have to go to WCL to report, check something etc. Why? Because it opens slowly, you have no "back" links etc. It lacks in many aspects and is not even a threat to LRH yet in any aspect. The one single part that I felt WCL has a superiority is the list of players when you open the respective list and scroll down on it. But what will happen IF thousands of people join in, will it be still efficient? Not sure.

So LRH is GREATEST, but competition is not a bad thing either, only so far there is no contest, is it?

I play for all tournies whitout a problem, don't dislike that since I was used to have TOH/WW/WON/Oracle all at once. And I do it because I can't ask everybody to let all other and come to LRH, can I? Those who already started in WCL and have a good ranking will prolly want to continue there, so until all players decide to only play for one tournie I'll play EVERYWHERE.

Long live Heroes 3 and the players who enjoy it!

P.S. Congratulations Cosmin for your HUGE and GREAT work!

Is there a reason for NOT playing both tournaments?

hello guys,

I find both tourneys very good.

Sag as far as i know gave us(me and most ppl i know) something we were dying for, i know he used a platform to launch the tourney but i should say this was done with consents of a lot of players as far as im aware of. Im sure in the folowing months to come things will reshape.

I find someone actually who took a step further and gave time to something we all wanted to do but never had time or knowledge to do tat.It is a very practical tourney which serves its purpose and i don't see why nobody should dislike it.

Cosmin as he said things above there is nothing much left to be said. Alot of passion and hard work put into it, and is very well presented.

I feel  these tourneys r like the past TOH and Wizards and warriors tourneys . One very powerfull display and other a very practical one.

I like to thank both of them for what they have done and will very much be appretiate them for years to come. And the best part of all these activities is the inflow of more new and old players.I think both should support each other as they together flourish h3.And i take absolute pleasure in playin for both tourneys.

Oh btw i see toh supporting h3 again, but quite dissapointed for abandoning us when we needed something.

I'm Glad to see both SAG and Cosmin post here that they respect the time and effort each put into their site. I guess it is inevitable to have some players take sides or put down one tourney because they like something better in the other. I think that is foolish. I'll always be gratfull to anyone who is willing to put out the effort to give us players a tournament that enhances the enjoyment of the game for many players. Most importantly it encourages new players and increases the activity of us old players.  So try to remember the times you've gotten online for a game and been unable to find an opponent and be thankfull these sites are up to help make finding those games easier.
Thanks to LRH and WCL! yes even TOH now that they let us back in

MOVED FROM TE TOPIC

I was looking at this post wrote by "liophy", and couldn't understand to much of what he is trying to say... But I realized one thing for sure! It doesn't describe LRH or LRH's actions.
My replay here has nothing to do with WCl or Sag. Why? Because I didn't even knew that Sag is involved in it! There was nowhere written who is doing all the work. I recall asking once Sag if he has any idea about the "creator" to see more info. He never answers back.
On the other hand, I hope you do see that a better version of heroes made by Sag or anybody else cannot do any harm to a Tournament (Toh Lrh Wcl) because The Tournaments and The Game would always be complementary. If players play this TE version, what would stop them to report games on whatever tournament they like?

Quote:
Unfortunately you donít realize how right you are. And all of your LRH are trying desperately to divide the HC.

From this comment I see 3 wrong statements:
1. I do realize that the heroes 3 community is smaller, because I see what's going on games played on all tournaments now. Lrh and Wcl are running Heroes 3 version, and if you count both tournaments games disputed you see that Toh and heroes 5 is far more ahead (a month ago they had 2000+ games, that's more then both our tournaments together!)
2. Lrh supports HC, and will always be part of HC because is running Heroes Tournament. HC is not romanian, not russian, not american. It represents a place where people that loves Heroes, get together and post any opinion about this game HEROES.
3. "All your LRH" refers to something totally annoying... LRH never had a goal. It was opened for players regardless of their nationality.

Quote:
Recently i wrote a letter to a player from your site. I donít now how (probably there are a bug at your site) the letter were received by some of the admins of LRH. Probably it was you, but cant remember. In this letter the admin insulted and cursed WCL and SAG.

Here you simply say something completely wrong. Email and LRh are 2 different things. You don't send email through LRH site but through yahoo, msn or whatever email service you're registered to. And the email would go to whomever you write on the address bar. How can you say "the bug on LRH" because you either put there a wrong address or you just took a name with copy paste and didn't look who are you sending the email? - Nonsense...

Quote:
So, whats the conclusion - you are jelaous from the intention that WCL gets from the veterans. Because its good and its seems that this is going to be the ONE place where heroes players stay. WCL is competition of your LHR.

This one is completely new to me. LRH and WCL are in competition? And if Sag didn't respond to that I might understand that represents the WCL statement? WCL players, is that true?

Quote:
TE is developed by the Russians and SAG made it work good for SOD. So you realize that TE will decide the battle between WCL and LHR and thatís why you can not take it.

On this one as I've said, what will stop players that play TE, lets suppose 100% made by Sag to report games on Toh/Lrh as well? I'll tell you what! Nothing!

Quote:
Thats why i find it more than expected that you will try to underestimate TE, to explain how bad it is and etc.

From what ! said on my post you suppose to understand that I'm saying that TE is bad? You must me joking right? My opinion there is about the "lack" of the random generator functions and that's all. Somehow I "suggested" to get people to work on that side too because it will make the game of everyoneís dream. More options means diversity, that's all.

Well, obviously it was not you who made the insults over the mail.

And offcourse i know that there is difference between LRH and e-mails. But probably at your site there were wrong e-mail adress next to a playr profile.

Regarding TOH - dont make me laugh. TOH is dead and there is no coming back, since Vesuvious dont give a snow about H3.

Tell me - how can there be so stupid arangement - to have common rankings for H3 and H5!!!! The two games have nothing in common!!! Its like to rang together people who play Heroes and Warcraft.... Absulute nonsense...

You say there are more than 2000 games reported - ok, but that include H5. After 1 year we will see how much H5 players will remain. And WCL are new site, it just getting started, its still in development. And yet there are a lot of reports.

You are right that there is no problem to report at both leagues. But still you will not care for one of the leagues that much as the other and one of the leagues will prevail. Nevermind, its not that much of a problem right now.

Oh dear god... are you awake when you write here?

Do you know that on all sites PLAYERS wrote their emaill addreses on registration precess? And whatever they wrote there that's what is displayed?

Toh is dead? And who are you to make public affirmations about Vesuvius? Do you know him? I doubt...

If Toh doesn't support Heroes 3 anymore, 2000+ games are from Heroes 5 right? You just contradict yourself...

It's not much of a problem?
So you're saying loud and clear that WCL is LRH's competition, and sooner or later will close all other yournaments around...You made me laugh!

I see the young heart and the speed of your blood through your vains, but remember one thing: what are you saying now it will be carried over with your name during all your activity through HC forums... it will be your silent mirror! You'll learn that... don't worry!
cheers

I used to play SP or hotseat. It's better to fight people, who are sitting next to You. You can talk about everyday life, watch how the others are playing, eat something together. Once I even asked my opponent to capture the utopia, and go back for reinforcements with my main, while I go to the toilett.
Now I moved to other Town, don't have heroes fans here, so I have to play SP or TCP/IP. I recently changed my OS to Linux, and I'm lazy to figure out, how to do it with Ububntu. -> I play SP now.
(IIRC Hamachi doesn't have Linux version. WASTE, maybe..)

The main problem of TCP/IP is to find opponents. So You will need a site  to hunt them. Like tourneys above. I prefer fun games.

There is site where you can find 20-40 players online. It's called Gamespy, but i doubt that it will work under Linux. Link is here. And YES, SP is totally different from MP.
