Fireball: Rage of Magic MOD
All info about the mod is located in PDF file here:
PDF Readme
Since the mod is almost done (all that remains is doing a few installation procedure scripts and tuning some of the changes), i would welcome any feedback about the changes that are done (or that haven't been done but should be) in this thread.
Since this mod is not WoG based i suppose it fits into this subforum.
Thanks in advance.

What I have in mind is:
Am I able to recognize my opponent has such a "mod" installed?
I really don't want every player playing his OWN version of H3. That would be the end of the H3 community....

to yasmiel:
1) actually it's good that still people are interested in H3 and willing to enhance it.
2) it's not the first attempt and not the last one i'm sure. There is WOG, T.E., etc. IMHO T.E. version is the future and veterans will move to it, however not sure how quick will be this process.
3) it's not "light" modification but pretty new game.
4) Changes in "Fireball" are mostly correct, however what was The Objective? These changes are unsufficient to make Magic heroes as strong as Might heroes normally are. Why? Magic heroes still will get bad skills. To my mind Fire school with proposed changes is still not as strong as Earth or Air. IMHO there should be a kind of roundtable were best players would discuss and agree on:
- do we actually need ANY MOD?
- which changes are critical?
- will new game be balanced and interesting?

in case if BOTH players will have this patch, then it will work for BOTH. In case if ONE player have it, then almost all changes will work for him only. You will be able to detect perhaps Blind not in lev2 shrine but in lev3 shrine. We played with Nevermindspy such a game - i forgot to restart Heroes after i copyed his patch. What have happened? I had no changes, but Nevermindspy got all patch benefits. When we met, i killed all his wolves by Magic Arrow - as he said - however on my screen they were alive because my Magic Arrow was weak as usual...
Regarding DETECTION of all non-original patches/changes: perhaps i will make a program that will detect all such changes.

It should be fully multi player compatible with H3Complete and H3SoD.
If host has the mod installed, you should be able to visually identify it.
In all multi player games, hosts are the ones that decide the rules, so if host doesn't have the mod, it will be ignored for all other players.
(however, this mod check is not welcome in any decent firewalls so it might be easier to drop it, instead i might add buttons for enabling/disabling the patch for people that have it)
