No, this question is only about melee attacks. Does it help if I say that it may occur with a direct attack on a unit?

14th question is not precise.
You may mean Ghost's / Spectre's incorporeal ability. Units suffer retaliation BUT no damage when missed - if it's it then you have to work on precising questions more

Thanks elvin for running the quiz... Guys, I am afraid we will be working at a lower pace so as not to run out of questions

I updated the scoreboard - ZL is still in the lead, followed closely by shauku and a bit less by blink

I am having good time down here but awaiting my return to post my series of questions to knock off your consciousness with tricky qs

If i could suggest something - it would be nice to change somehow way of answering to this quiz... coz if one won't come immediately after posting questions, one won't be able (almost) to answer any coz all are already answered (or almost all)!
I know that if i say that something is wrong (in my opinion) then i should suggest at least some kind of solution... i didn't think over this matter too much but for now... maybe announcing next questions on a certain time would be nice (to make it easier for people fro different timezones it may be given in Zulu time - then everybody would know how many hours to add or "remove" from given time).
I hope you understand majority of my post if not - then ask and i'll try to explai it as i can

I know, I thought about it too when I saw two people answer almost immediately about half of the questions. I'm not sure what will be done, maybe the number of answers allowed will be slightly decreased but I guess from now on we'll give a timeline during which the questions will be posted. I'll check with TDL about that and we will inform you of any changes. (Good thing we have the same timezone! )

From now on we will announce the time and day of the new round a couple of days before so that people won't be caught unprepared. The next round will probably be on Friday afternoon, we will inform you in due time.

I have not shown my face much in this, since I have been busy elsewhere, but I have made my first serious contribution this week, and Elvin has graciously allowed me to host this week's quiz. It is therefore a pleasure to present:


ToAQ Questions: WEEK 5

Max limit on how many questions to answer is still 8, whereas each question can be answered multiple times, if first answer is wrong or incomplete. In all questions, answers should be given with a brief explanation as to why or how, and when there are multiple options, all should be listed.

Questions
1) Which ranged unit is least affected by an advanced Confusion? (undead and immune to mind control don’t count.)
2) In what ways can a Knight boost a melee unit’s damage?
3) Which hero class can potentially aid best with units' speed in a passive way?
4) Which is the best class of hero to use for a siege?
5) How can the Eternal Light be bypassed with no chance of failure?
6) How can the Master of Fire armour damaging effect be removed?
7) Which racial skills have been altered since the original release of Heroes 5? (A change in the main racial, not its abilities.)
8) How many Masteries ("Master of..." titles) can a hero have?
9) What are the names of the Dragon Gods, and what are their portefolia?
10) Which are the original races created by the Dragon of Order?
11) What are the three ages in the Ashan Calendar?
12) How can a hero learn new spells without visiting adventure locations or a town? (Runes and artifacts don’t count.)
13) How can the Vampire’s Life Drain effect become better within a battle sequence? (Resurrect more with the same damage.)
14) Which town is the hardest to take down in a siege?

Questions that are striked out are already answered.

Answers:
1) Assassin, due to Poison ability doing full damage, even when unit is confused (bug).
2) The full correct answer is Knight, with the following skills: Fiery Wrath, Retribution, Attack (skill), Attack (stat), Luck, Light Magic, Battle Frenzy, Frenzy (dark magic spell).
3) Knight with Aura of Swiftness, Death March, Familiar Ground. This will potentially provide a +6 Speed bonus, which is the same as maximum bonus available from Wizard mini-artifact.
4) Demon Lord can be considered the best during sieges, because of the Gating ability, and because he has access to Tremors, Brimstone Rain and Teleport Assault.
5) The Wraith's Harm Touch will by-pass Eternal Light every time (even in 2.0 - thank you, ZL).
6) The Armour damaging effects of Mark Of Fire will be dispelled by the following effects: Antimagic spell, Immunity to Magic (technically, the effect will never come into play here), Immunity to Fire (same), Palladin's Lay Hands, cured by First Aid Tent, dispelled by Rune of Exorcism, Cleansing and possibly Armoured ability (Shieldguard, Blackbear Rider) (not confirmed from judges).
7) Gating (1.4), Necromancy (2.1) and Training (2.1) have been changed.
8) A Hero can potentially have 13 "Master of ..." titles. These are the 12 Abilities belonging to the 4 Magical schools, and then a Hero Specialition such as Master of the Hunt, Master of Initiative, Master of Runes, or Master of Summoning.
9) The 8 Dragon Gods are Asha (Dragon of Order), Urgash (Dragon of Chaos), Elrath (Dragon of Light), Malassa (Dragon of Darkness), Sylanna (Dragon of Earth), Alrath (Dragon of Fire), Sylath (Dragon of Air), Shalassa (Dragon of Water).
10) The 6 original races created by the Dragon of Order were the Angels, the Faceless, the Humans, the Elves, the Dwarves and the Naga.
11) The three ages are the Mythic Age, the Ancient Age and the Modern Age (counted in Yeards of the Seventh Dragon, or YSD).
12) A hero can learn spells through Scholar and Arcane Intuition, and will also learn new spells upon acquiring the following abilities: Secrets of Destruction, Arcane Brilliance, Tremors, Power of Speed/Endurance, Teleport Assault, Runic Armour, Fire Warriors, Arcane Omniscience.
13) Use of the Raise Dead spell during combat will reduce the HP of the Vampire, and will therefore make the Life Drain ability more effective, because a larger number of Vampires will be ranged per amount of damage done.
14) Fortress with Fortification and Guard Post. Also, one specific Dwarven Town has Tough Walls town specializations for another +50 HP.

Gating improved in 1.4
Necromancy changed in 2.1, as well as Training

This is not the answer we're looking for. If enemy army is very large, you might well run out of Mana.

Oh i didn't know that brief explanations were required. Number 14. Fortress because of Guardpost and the building that you need to build before Castle, that makes the walls tougher to brake
