The Tower

This is NOT for ICTC, this is just a faction I've been thinking about.
(I will compete with this in the next ICTC, if there will be one)

Facts and Traits:

Motto: We look down at everyone, therefore we know everything.
Aka: The Hawk-People, the Avians
Colours: white, Sky blue
Worship: Slyath, the dragon of Air
Core Philosophy: All clouds have a silver lining, especially our ones.
Country: Sadeh, the clouds above all Ashan
Capital City: Pilvooh, the silver cloud
Key Symbols: Lightning Cloud and the Sun
Enemies: Dungeon, Academy
Neutral: Inferno, Fortress
Allies: Sylvan, Necro
Archenemies: Haven
Terrain: Clouds (A new layer)
Main Magic: Light and Destructive
Resource Silo: Gems
Blacksmith: Ammo Cart
Race: The Avians
Race Description: The Avians are half hawks, half men. Pic:
Alingment: Good
Main Attributes: Spellpower and Defense
Expansion name: Winds of Hatred

History:

The Mythic Age: Slyath secretly creates the Avians and recieves worshipping from both the humans and the Avians.

Origins:

Year 11 YSD: The Falcon Empire start worshipping the Angels and the Dragon of Light. Slyath becomes jealous and sends Avian diplomats and priests to convert the Humans back to worshipping Slyath.

Year 12 YSD: A fanatic knight kills the leader of the Avian diplomats in the capital city of the Falcon Empire. The Avians announce war against the  Falcon Empire. The war rages for 10 years.

Year 22 YSD: Eventually, the ancient capitel of the Avians, Aur-ink, is invaded by the Falcon troops. Even the Elite Guards guarding the Temple of Slyath are slain and Human Troops can charge in and destroy it. They also kill the Abbot of the Avians: Il-Mak. The Apprentice of the Abbot, Li-tun, and some of his followers manage to escape and build a new world above the clouds. The Falcon Empire destroys all evidence of the existence of the Avian race.

Year 31 YSD: Pilvooh is built by Il-Mak, the new Abbot.

Year 48 YSD: The Holy Falcon Empire is born.

The Modern Ages:

Year 985 YSD: Il-Mak dies and the power passes on to his apperentice, Hauk-kal, who decides that it is the time for the Avians to reveal themselves and start a new war against their old enemy, The Holy Griffin Empire.

Creatures:

1.

Cloudling

Cloudlings are small creatures that look like small clouds. They can plunge them selves with their daggers and then strike the enemy and implant a small Cloudling inside them. When the enemy dies, the Cloudling will be free and be happy to join the other Cloudlings.

That's what makes them unique and original

If you copy everything from mythology then where's the creativity?

I don't think so. Where's the fun in creating a copy of the other Heroes games? And I don't think Dark Elves were present in previous HoMM games

While I do agree that mythological creatures are a good source of creativity, remember they were still created by us (humans I mean).. I think it's a good thing to come with ideas of your own instead of completely copying the entire mythological information. You still can base your ideas on it, but with something new too. I'm sure I can come up with some examples, though, but a lil' bit later.

Well i'm sure many creatures are already created by Dungeons and dragons, tolkien and local folklore.

The only animals that haven't been in many concepts are giraffes, pinguins and skunks, panda bears and koala bears..

Well many succes with creating terryfing monsters out of those animals! :-p

Nuff said.

two points @ ashrah

1) name them

2) Ashrah, you have entered a town in the ICTC, and now your not working on it. in fact, you have completely disowned it. now that is a pity because is was a really good faction, with only a few changes to win the contest. are you still going to enter?

on dear, CX is coming towards me with big knife, i better stop with the off topic.

@ CX

i see where your going, making a town for each element. interesting, but it seems that it might not work

They are from norse mythology!

they weren't exactly dark elves as in the game (they wore clothing) but they were troublesome spirits.

I like the idea about the Sun Mage that it loses the ranged attack

I'd change the Battle Roar ability like this: Increases attack and initiative of all nearby allies and inflicts damage to nearby enemies. (maybe a range of 3x3 like Precise Shot?)

That's a very cute faction. Well done CX.

I think I would add the Pegasus. It fits perfectly, don't you think?
Mabey instead of the Air Elemental. It will be strange if one elemental isn't neutral and all the others are.

Thank you GL.

I dunno about the Pegasus thing. Somehow I imagine it in a sort of a earth faction. I suppose that's because they're horses.

Elementals: I think each faction should have an elemental.

Like this:

Haven: Light
Inferno: Chaos
Necropolis: Order
Sylvan: Earth
Dungeon: Darkness
Academy: Magic
Fortress: Fire
Naga: Water
Tower: Air

I would argue with that. Just because of their skin colour Dark Elves IMHO come form Warhammer

And about town. Nice idea, but we already have "flying" one (Academy). Though it would be interesting to see something new.

And I agree with ZombieLord that copying old ideas (especially from H3) is rather mediocre-exciting
