I haven't played any 'bad' games, per se, but the only game I was actually tempted to take back to the store was Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon because I almost beat it in two days.

HEHEHE, you know it's not good when you want to take a game back to the store...

Surely we can do worse than what's come up in the thread so far...

Let's see I have a couple of games that I booted up once or twice and never played again.  Games that cost $.50 you get what you pay for.  The ones that come to mind are Gladiator and War along the mohawk.

What else?  Daggerfall was pretty bad...certainly unfinished.

Final Fantasy Tactics

This game came out at around the same time of "Tactics Ogre Battle" for the original Sony Playstation. My friend bought "Final Fantasy Tactics" under the assumption that it was tactics-ogre battle's rival of the same genre. And for the most part it was. And even in many ways final fantasy tactics was clearly superior to tactics ogre battle in the arena of graphics, smooth gameplay, customizability, and sheer volume of different paths a character and party could take in the storyline adventure. However the ending is what changes everything. This is the only time, first, and last time I have ever seen a game have such an effect on my friends all because of the ending. Usually in most games you win at the end, gain some new super power, obtain the ultimate sword, learn the most powerful spell, rule the world, save the princess, you name it.....you WIN! However! Guess what happens at the end of FF tactics? Here is the ending: IT NEVER HAPPENED. That's right you basically erase time and you never existed and bla bla bla....but hey you won the game. I remember when my friend beat the game. We were all in his dorm room on the 3rd floor. He stood up and screamed: "What! Oh hell no! That's Bull****!" At which time he turned to one of the other fellas sitting on his bed and commanded him, "Open the door Evan!" We all looked up and wondered what the hell he was so angry about. But Evan simply did as he was told and opened the door to his room. At this time my buddy Darryl crouched down like a Greek Ninja at the summer Olympics and flung with every fiber of his being the most hated object of his existence out from the 3rd story of our dorm room barracks. It was the FF Tactics disc! It soared in the evening sunlight out on to the center common grounds catching the eye of many who were present, because of the reflective properties of a shiny almost metallic compact disc. It was actually a decent throw, nothing to be ashamed of. I estimate the disc of undue fortune must have flown at least 50 feet before finally laying to rest on the grass. At which time he turned to Evan and pointed saying, "Shut the door." And there it stayed for the next 3 to 4 days before he finally realized that no one cared about the disc in the grass, though many gave it a passing glance of notice. None took up the cursed circular mirror of regret and so Darryl finally forgave the accursed thing after its former historic expedient banishment from his sight many moons ago.

A warning: To all those who expect more from a good video game storyline and plot.

Special note: You might also notice that Final Fantasy Tactics has a strange affinity for having created all its character entirely void of noses. An oddity of barely noticeable significance.

I havent been around that long in the gaming world- started it only when i was 2-3
Lemme see, bad games- i have undoubtably played almost everything that's been released since i was a kid.
Just give me a moment to get my thoughts together.
Okay,i'll start by making a list, with reasons for each title.

1.Dungeon siege I ( II is a big improvement IMO)
reasons: what can i say? you randomly start the game as a halfwit farmer armed with a butter knife and you cut your way through hordes of goblins by decisively pressing and holding the left mouse button.. you proceed through half of the game without letting go of the left mouse button, or forgetting to tap the health potion key whenever you're about to be clubbed to death by a 2 foot tall goblin..
and just a reference to someone else's post here.. yes this game also has goblins, lots of goblins..

2.sacred
reasons: see above ^

3.Heroes of might and magic V:hammers of fate
reasons: game is good dwarves are fun to play. But the campaign is pathetic..i have to wait ages before i can even 'try' playing the dwarves..

4.might and magic IX
reasons: weak plot etc. Main reason is its unstable code, running it on either of my newer computers causes them to reboot. in the computer logs it says it rebooted because of system failure. There you go, great F*** up whoever was responsible for making that game.

I AGREE! That game sucked.

worst games... worst games... Oh! Heroes 4. I would rather be playing Heroes 1 that that peice of... Hell-Spawned Crud.

Warcraft 1 - was a start, but god...

Roller Coaster tycoon 3 - I have my reason, just because its new doesn't mean its better. Untrue for starcraft 2.

Veit-Cong - Just dont bother.

... And many, Many more...

Actually, at the time I remember that one being pretty good.  If nothing else, others are much worse.

Now on to the list of games that I would rather punch a carebear before playing...

1. Counter Strike
I really don't understand the point of this game... terrorists in the real world would never go running around shooting any counter terrorists that they see with total disregard for their own objectives. In a real life situation the terrorists would never go head-to-head with the law, and most likily they wounld'nt even know the CT were coming. Real life situations do NOT involve a team of said CT going around and battling terrorists...

2. World of Warcraft
I have seen people buy two $1000 gaming computers so that their kids can play together... I have seen a video on youtube of a kid screaming and yelling when his parents say time to get to bed... need I say more?

3. Titan Quest
Soooooo long and repetitive........

4. War of the Ring
Two factions that involve every creature imagined in Lord of the Rings.... + horrible gameplay...........

5. Battlefront
So painfully easy........

1: id disagree. has its bad points because of how good it is. not how bad it is. too addictive in other words.
2: it had things i liked. id agree its not that great though but had a few interesting features.
3:Id disagree too. its a multiplayer game, if you ever played it with people who truly enjoy it theres great fun all around
4: never heard of it.
5: id disagree too. solid gameplay for such a small console. honestly there arent many good games for the gameboys and game freak makes some of the best. not a computer after all

Yeah they are amazing for smmall handheld thingys. All the pokemons after silver and gold were definatly unoriginal but the plotline in pearl was uninteresting.but i like what they did with the graphics and the tactical areas of the game
