Poll Question: Poll: Luck or Morale?
What do you prefer to gain; luck or morale?
There's extensive explanation and analysis about these two here, made by Alcibiades.

I say luck. Luck = more dmg. Moral = extra turn, in a while. Luck wins because moral aint like in old times, where you got the turn right after ... So luck rocks my world!

90% of my games are with Necropolis --->>> no morale, and i can say it:
It is no problem if your morele is always zero, it's even better, no bad morele.
If have luck, who cares for the morele?

Well, in my opinion, morale is better.
With luck, it's like attacking twice (duble damage), with one retalition, but you can't move or choose other creature.
With Morale, all your next turns will be sooner, which is like having another turn, and there, you can choose other creature, to move, to wait, etc. The problem is that if you attack the same creature, and its turn already passed, you suffer retaliate.
Anyway, morale gives you mamy options, while luck gives you only one.

Depends with who I play really but I generally favour luck. With sylvan I always get lucky but enough of the times I get leadership too, with haven it's the other way around. Dungeon NEEDS luck for both might and magic reasons while leadership would mean depending on might that is usually a wrong choice for a warlock vs a might/dark faction. About academy I used to prefer luck but maybe morale arties are a good option now- imagine the rajas having good morale by using dash! Inferno I'd rather have luck for soldier's luck and the crazy attack values.
Luck takes into account modifiers such as attack stats/skill, retribution, archery so it can potentially have a better effect than leadership.

Actually morale does so, too. If you act twice as often due to morale, you also deal twice as much damage...no matter what modifiers there are.

Sure but with luck it is double right away. No retaliations, no chance that the enemy will play just a bit faster, nothing. Though in earlygame morale is more easy to trigger starting at +2.

Always luck for my part. If I play dungeon or inferno it is obivous, but for all the other factions I take it as well. I am so used to it now that I even am waiting for the luck to hit when my pit lords are casting a meteor shower (that would have been fun)

Luck, the results are immediate. There's no waiting around for the next attack, it already is the next attack, and without any intervening retaliation strike.
In the old days, when Morale was an instant second attack, it was still eclipsed by Luck. Luck meant the entire stack's attack was double damage, rather than Attack-->Retaliation (and loss of a few troops)-->Second Attack (with less troops).
Morale could be even worse in cases against multiple retaliation creatures because you're giving the opponent a second chance at retaliation. It was, rarely, better, such as when you're trying to get those darned tanks into the fight, an extra and immediate move is great for altering the flow of battle, engaging the enemy and upsetting carefully planned out enemy strategies (and getting rid of bothersome Phantoms, for example). On the other hand, Morale isn't something YOU can plan on either, so it's just gravy, icing, or pure rear-end saving hapenstance.

Given that Doomforge has pledged never to return to this thread I think we should just spend the remainder of it paying out on him.
Oh and I voted luck.

Wow, 21 votes for luck and only 2 for morale.
Does everyone prefer the luck since the moral isn't another immediate turn?

In someway they are better together. With a great moral and great luck you get: Luck on first swing, then extra turn and if your really lucky get another luck strike. So maybe they cannot be judged by just themself but rather with so much more ...

Morale triggers more easily than luck. All creatures of same aligment and your morale is easily +5 whit Leadership. Still luck is better but morale works average more often.

Another point...
I you have bad luck you'll get -50% demagen in this attack, but if you get bad morale, you get -100% (no turn - no chance for demage).
You can play good without morale...

Quote: if you get bad morale, you get -100% (no turn - no chance for demage).
No - your turn is only delayed by 50 %, not by 100 %, so this corresponds not to a complete loss of your turn, and can thus be translated into some sort of fictive damage (you do 100 % damage in 1.5 turns corresponding to 67 % damage).
