I totally agree with you Strider, this sure sounds like an awful way to lose, and an even worse way to win for your opponent. Everyone can manage to get a win when exploiting the opponents good honour. Just to ask for "one day wait" sounds pretty far off, if you then win after having been granted this it is with a sour taste in the mouth, so its a lose-lose situation.

I agree with strider, it shouldn't be asked in the first place. I remember i play game with strider yesterday, if i had 1 more day to fight him outside town with full mana, i will opt for that But it just so happened i had zero mana in that fight i had to town seat that particular turn to wait for full mana next turn.
For example... a misclick to end turn without hero moving maybe is more justifiable for the 1 day.

I dun remember necro ever have chance to do motn on sylvan before

Amen SQ, funny thing is I always ask you to play wyngaal vs me and you ban him from yourself lol, truth be told I still fear Ylthin and Ossir more hehe.

Wyngaal really is unfair lol .. i would think he give another 30% chance to win game especially in hourglass or battlezone kind of big maps.

LoL Strider

This treat is NOT for "thread of dishonorable practices" so if you need place for this make new. Most coments are about game stufs/balances.

I did not intend to offend you It's true that your situation turned out to be just a reporting delay facilitated by emotional frustration and not in the field of "dishonorable practices"

My intention was to bring forward the bad experience associated with "give me a time to prepare" situation. As Fraudatio summarized - it's a lose - lose situation and should be excluded from general multiplayer games. Otherwise, it's solely on risk of benefactor judging opponent honor.

That's why I did not name that opponent. I just want to spare unpleasant emotions to other players facing similar situations in general.

There is no need to share it, if he reported the win against you and it was counted.

Well, now that this thread of dishonorable practices has emerged I feel I need to share experience I got couple days ago with one pal.

Map Ability. I broke garrison to his side and got asked if I could give a day so my opponent "could face a final battle AT ALL"...

Here's what happened:

1. I cruised around for a day and moved scout with additional army within range.

2. He attacked the scout while "gathering together the troops". And I thought that we had a "white flag" as he asked...

3. Final battle. What do I see... that "could face you AT ALL" had turned into more army than mine. Also, opponent had spent the time to get huge arts gathered by ship. I lost.

What I don't like about situation - I deem this dishonorable to ask for spare time IF you have not been a TOTAL LOSER in that particular game.

I reported loss right away as it was my own decision to grant that time. However, I felt severely fooled by such conduct because:

1. Opponent attacked my joining army after had asked for white flag.
2. He WAS NOT scrambling up remnants of troops but amassed an army larger than mine and shipped around for arts.

Bottom line. I would encourage all players to reject such biddings for white flag if you are not sure about player's level of honor.

P.s. After game we talked and he offered to report loss...after while it was only "not report game" and eventually he reported win hehe

I guess sense of quilt is very tranquil and time heals wounds but report stays...

I had a scenario similar to this way back in an Heroes III game...I felt like an  idiot after the game My opponent was actually in my territory fairly close to my town when he asked for an extra day to make the battle at least a little challenging for me. I could have easily attacked him that turn and won the game with not too much effort but I figured sure no problem, I'll give him a day with the white flag raised. So, I figured there would be no offensive moves made by either of us in that day. Well my opponent proceeded to boost his army considerably with reinforcements that were a day behind and then take my castle that I had left unguarded because I thought we had an understanding that it was a truce time. I ended up losing that game. Our armies were roughly equal in that battle and it was close but the fact that he had the advantage of my castle made the difference. I reported the loss immediately but I felt very offended about what had happened. Thats why there is an honour rating established in ToH.

loool !!! i had fun reading this one  ...
If anyone would put a crazy rule like no MotN in final battle I would certainly ask him to revert game to 2.0 version, cause he obviously would rather have 1.5K skellies instead !
This is a crazy rule imho, and I wouldn't play in such conditions... anyway necro is weakened by the new patch, why weaken it even more by disallowing the only good thing for it that came with this patch?

haha I think its first time i agree with you Towerlord btw MoTW > MotN , shouldn't it be banned too?

Yes ive reported twice or something , ive sent the mail.. i dunno why you didn't get it , please delete my unreported games vs Buxyrs

Its important to rat out those players...

I know this is not the place to write this, but i can not help myself.

I had a similar situation on HG, wher my opponenet claimed that he had no troop growth for that week!!! The funny thing is that I had growth. I was honorable to not attack him in middle, as I could have with my much larger army.

Next turn, he attacks me, with so much more army. Never again!!

Another time, I played this player on a map. That player had lost hlaf his army breaking middle, and I was playing a perfect game. I could have attacked him with half his army, but I didnt. I actually offered him to summon all remaing troops so we could at leat get a fun figth going. What does he do, well, with his expert logisitics ( I had none), he flies past me, into my territory and takes all the powerups, then town portals back to his town. I still won the game, but it took an extra 2 hours to finish

Bottom line, if you dont know the player well, or if pre-game rules are not made, to bad, live with decision, whether you feel stupid or not after the game, live and learn....losing has become a normal way of life for me in H5
