What makes it funny is that I didn't throw it on there for the lulz either. Out of all the Disney classics, that's the one I've cherished the most, both as a kid and later in life... so it had to go on the list.

I was lolling because of the randomness of putting it there compared to the other movies you had said. I hate pretty much all Disney stuff. Animated films suck imo.

I dont understand that though... animation is simply a form of expression. The story and how its told, camera, lightning, costume all the things that make a movie are still in there, but you just dismiss them because the movie is animated?

Thats like saying every book in a yellow binding is ****, even if you havent read it yet.

Im not saying you should change your oppinion, I just find your explanation of "Animated movies suck imo" to be without foundation and pretty lackluster, since its not really a logical statement.

Check out Toy Story 3. Its a good movie. The acting, story, atmosphere, everything is great.

I dismiss animated because I prefer the traditional movie with actual people and everything. I don't really enjoy them or anything. Are you saying I should like Anime as well because it's a form of expression? Same thing. It's s**t to me. It's just a simple fact of I don't like it. How is that hard for you to understand?

Im not saying you should like anything william, Im saying I do not understand your reasoning.
A movie is compromised of many many things and its form (animated or not animated) is one of many. While being a very large part of the movie its also not a very big part of what makes the movie a movie, because everything else that is happening in the movie functions almost completely seperate from it.

Im a movie enthusiast of sorts, all I want is for you to understand that by dismissing a movie simply because of the way it looks is relatively superficial. Why? Because you automatically dismiss everything else (which is quite a lot!) that defines the movie. And all those parts could be excellent! So its basically unfair towards good animated movies, since youre not even giving them a chance to impress you simply because of the way they look.
Afterall we usually also call guys/girls superficial if they dismiss a girl/guy/guy/girl simply because they dont find them super attractive. Its the same here.

Never did I say you should like anything in animated form william, no need to be aggresive about that. Its your oppinion, I dont want to change it, I want to understand it.

Okay to put it in a way you may understand: I don't like the style of animated movies. I don't like the animated part of it. Sure, I may be missing a lot but that's fine because I've also got a lot of other things to fall back on. There's just something about animated movies that I just don't like. I find some of them to be very childish and all. A lot of them have that sort of humour which I just don't find funny. A lot of them don't appeal to me storywise taste. I simply just prefer movies with people in them.

This is my entire point! The entire bolded part is completely seperate from the animation part. What you dislike could be in any non-animated movie aswell!
Admittedly often the form of animation is chosen for a specific type of movie so it often sets the tone for the movie in general (like you said the "a lot of them have a humor etc."), but its nothing set in stone. Again I think Toy Story 3 is a perfect example. Its a great movie and in my oppinion is more for the people who grew up with Andy (people our age) than for little kids (eventhough they can enjoy it too obviously).

Look william I wasnt trying to say that Im some big movie connaisseur for not dismissing animated movie, nor that you are less of a person for doing so. I completely respect your oppinion and there is nothing wrong with it, for christ sake its your oppinion a oppinion cant really be wrong. All I was trying to say that there is more to animated movies than just the fact that they are animated.

Animated movies make the movie feel more surreal and mystical, which can be good or bad. When I imagine certain Disney animated movies being done as live action movies, I think I'd probably find them pretty corny.

Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi

Other 10 major notables are The Fellowship of the Ring, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Braveheart, Gladiator, The Last of the Mohicans, Kill Bill Vol. 2, Independence Day, Batman Returns, Cutthroat Island, The Little Mermaid

Most of them are all big hit movies, with the exception of Cutthroat Island, which is underrated in its sheer pirate-saturated awesomeness. Pirates of the Caribbean has nothing on Cutthroat Island.

That's certainly some mediocre movies among a couple of better-than-average ones, but INDEPENDENCE DAY??? That's ridiculous.

Isn't a movie supposed to be judged by the visual ?

There are animated movies I like, there are much more of those that are simply childish, but animation is just not the same thing since a big part of enjoying the movie is enjoying the acting, watching Channing Tatum's acting as opposed to Anthony Hopkins's acting can be what determines whether the movie is a great one or a horrid one. Acting is one of the most important factors and animation eliminates that... Computer making expressions is nicely done but its not the same thing, hence reduces the fun of it, for me at least....

Did you read my post? Like I said: No. Of course not. Not in its entirety. Its a part of the movie, its not what the defines the movie as a whole. Think of the girl example, it cant be that hard to understand.

Of course there is acting in animated movies. Its just looks different. Nothing at all wrong with not likeing the fact that it looks different, saying there is no acting however is.

As I said, part of enjoying the movie to me is acting which means expressions and how talented are  actors, when actors are made machine I can't appreciate their acting skills.... I judge talent as part of my fun, watching a basketball game and admiring player's talent is hardly the same thing as admiring the talent of a basketball video game.... Simple as that, you enjoy other things in movies and it's cool, I don't, Will doesn't....

Again you seem to either missunderstand me or not want to understand me. I dont care what you like or dislike, I care about being exact in these things. I was never talking about or critzing anyones preferences in movies. I was talking about movies.

There you go. Im not saying and never said you or anyone should enjoy acting in animated movies. Im just saying you are wrong to say that there is none.
And your videogame example makes little sense. You say you enjoy watching talent. Say you see Michael Jordan execute a brilliant aweinspiring play. It impresses you. Now the exact same play and everything arround is reproduced in a videogame. The play itself is the same, meaning what impressed you when you saw Michael Jordon do it on TV, should also impress you when you see Michael Jordon do it as a polygon construct. If it doesnt it is not because of the play (because its exactly the same), but because of the fact that you do not see a real person do it.
The problem is not content, it is presentation. Which is what I have been saying all along. But I guess its enough for now. If you havent seen what I was trying to say already this wont help either.

And I was disagreeing with what you seem to think is "being exact"

When a person does something remarkable, it is his doing hence impressive, when machine does something like that, it is not because of it's talent, it is not remarkable since other machine can do it as well, machine is simply programmed to do so....
Are people who create animated movies talented, yes they are but the movie itself isnt acting, it is a program....

And I agreed with that part since acting is presentation after all.. which is what I have been saying all along
