Prince of Persia

People, I can't belive this With Prince of Persia I mean ubisoft's prince of persia and when I talked about the game on the "favorite games outside the heroes series" forum everyone that responded me sand that they prefer the old Prince of Persia. I mean just look at the advantages of the new PoP
The BEAUTIFUL grefics
The original gameplay
The intriguing storyline
amd so on...
I can't belive that you actually prefer that dos rubish(that's what I thing about it) If there is anyone on this forum who like me fell in love with the sands of time trilogy from the first sight show yourself  pls.

the dos version is not rubbish at all for the time that was realeased... actually maybe is one of the most great game of all time

but I like the new games also, sincerely there is not point of comparision... both are diferent games... is like comparing need for speed 1 with need for speed carbon... the programers have no chance to use realistic graphics, they must concentrate on make the game fun... with  and the old people will see the original pop is best... as the younger people will say the new version if best...

Well I've never played the original Prince of Persia, but I have seen pictures and screenshots and such, so I can't say which one actually is better. I have one the other hand, played Sands of Time, Warrior Within and Two Thrones and those are very fun. I love the daggertail, it's awesome! I found that those 3 games have a very different atmosphere in them. In Sands of time it's all nice and light and happy, then comes along Warrior Within, being all dark, evil and gloomy, and then theres Two Thrones which is kind of in between.

Yes, the sands of time had a cool atmosphere, and a specific swiftness in fight (in the other games you were quite slugish), WW had a cool free-form fighting that was far not as cool in T2T, but T2T had the degarrtail, and the speed kills that were cool. I thing it wuld be cool if to the acrobacy skills they add somethink more usual (I have in mind swimming). Actually the coolest PoP game would have the swiftness in fighting from the sands of time, the speed kills from T2T and the free-form fighting sistem from WW but sort of edited with the speed kills (speed kills become a part of the free-form fighting) for example if you fight a brute you won't only have to beat it and escape it's strikes but the final blow of yours is a speed kill strike and if you miss the brute gets you, or if there is a ninja running the wall infront of you you have to deal a speed kill strike in the right moment to take her off, or if the ninja is on a beam, you start the speed kill to escape her blow and then deal yours. Maybe if they recreate the sands of time (like they did with the two thrones to create the rival swords), recreate revelations, and take the rival swords and a totaly new game that has a storyline like the one of battles of prince of persia but is an action/adventure- not a tbs and then put hte entire think together in a single game (the storyline of wich is nareted only by the prince, becouse this is the story he actually tells to Phara in the end) it will be very cool. Maybe an other think they should change is the last fight (with the dark prince). I thing there should actually be a fight before the mental realm. They may call it "The Legend of The Prince of Persia". What do you thing

First, I didn't really play any of the new PoP. I've seen one of them and it actually looks real good. So when I said that the original PoP rocked I didn't compare it to the new one, I was just stating a fact.

Second, why the original dos PoP rocked? It's hard to explain it really. It was one of those games the could annoy the hell out of you and you still could move an inch from your PC. There aren't too many games like that, no matter when they were made.

Hi all,

I loved PoP: SoT but felt it was too easy.  They showed you how to solve the puzzles.  But yes the graphical ambience was nice and the fighting system was tight, although not true to the original.

PoP Warrior Within was harder but for me in the wrong part.  The regular fights were still easy but the boss fights pissed me off.  I would rather they made the jumping puzzles tougher, still the sand shifting is always fun.

Haven't played the third one yet.

Now for the original.  Judging by your comments OP, I'm guessing you are a youngster who wasn't around when the dos game originally came out.  Well I was and I can tell you back then it was every bit as awesome as SoT is now.  Have you beaten the original Prince of Persia or is it too tough for you?

I've only played the original and the second one. Spent TONS of time on the first one. My fastest run was like 25 mins

Original was nice at the time, because it was pretty much the only game of its kind at the time and for those times it was also well-made.

Second one was ok too.
