I had not considered that as I never used such abilities in the campaigns. If H5 was a little fine-tuned it would be a truly great game. Right now apart from some minor fixed it needs that icing on the cake to take it to the next level! I am into rpgs for the world of ideas they offer and I appreciate it when everything makes sense is well thought out and does not collide with something else.

Well, I agree. heroes 5 is actually more complex than vanilla heroes 3. Too bad that Nival introduced too many things from heroes3 that simply don't fit the new rules (like the choice of 500-1000 gold at startup, which was ok for heroes3, but is worthless for heroes5).

Though they corrected and merged some others...A shame, it would have been nice to have an actual dilemma.

And about the abilities.. don't you feel they are suprisingly similiar to WoG ones? Like, say, enlightment which is identical to WoG improvement of learning (grants bonus ability points)..

I wouldn't know, I only played WoG for a few times-the H3 period was over for me. Can someone show some examples? I wouldn't be too surprised as they copied things from many places but I would like to know nontheless.

Banish: This is another severely overpowered skill. At level 25, you can effectively negate the Demon Lords racial ability.

You give up the wizards turn to banish one stack.  What's overpowered?

lol, you certainly haven't seen it in action. You don't banish just one stack, you banish all of them at once. Inferno is left with about 20% of their gated troops after that.

But the true power of that skill is that it kills the phoenix instantly, free of charge.

Not many water maps, that's why. In the single scenario with Raven it was very helpful.

Whoops.  Right you are.  I did actually use it once many patch versions ago, but I think there was only one summoned unit on the field.  In my defense Alcibiades hadn't used it either...

Edit: So I tried out a 'duel' against the a.i. on the map mountains of wealth 2 ( where is number one anyways?), I was academy, they were inferno.  I very nearly succumbed to an early rush.  I was about level 10 or 12 and my banish spell was banishing one pit fiend and one fire elemental each turn.  Not all powerful, but it got me through the battle with a few gargoyles left.
