Maybe partnering characters up would be a good idea, like 2 or 3 at most start close or already together.
Good + Good = 
Evil + Evil = 
Good + Neutral = 
Evil + Neutral =

Hmmmmm, well I dunno, this was meant to be heroes, but maybe you could partner up with someone, and you could be a sprite, a unit in that other Heroes army.
Or maybe I should just let you be a sprite.
What do other's think about this?

Hmmmm, we need something more in the story and in the description...
On the map we have 9 objects, I think that we can "split" the map in 9 kingdoms, evil and good. The neutral heroes will live, in the "wild free land", outside of the 9 kimgdoms, and when they join to some kind of evil or good kingdom they will go to live there.
Also we can write something for the 9 kingdoms in the game, something specific, like:
Brief description and history + bonuses (when the hero is in this town, he become bonus or something)

Nice ideas VokialBG, I like the idea for 9 kingdoms, perhaps we can split them in half, or like:
4 good kingdoms
4 evil kingdoms
1 super neutral kingdom.
And by me saying "super neutral", I mean a place where all the neutral heroes can gather in harmony, for example:
If I was an evil hero, and wanted to go to another evil kingdom other then my own, I might not be allowed to go in there, but if I was a neutral, then I could get into the super neutral kingdom.
Is that an alright idea?

I think for 4 good and 4 evil kingdoms + 1 wild abandoned kingdom, which is attcked by powerful wild beasts, and nobody can live there, the best evil and good heroes try to go to the center of town where is hidden powerful artifact, for now nobody can get it. The neutral heroes want the artifact too, but they fight not in a group but alone. When the good group meet the evil they fight but sometimes they "unite" the groups and search for artifacts in the town together, after you find a artifact in the town you can go to your oun town and sell it.
With other word, I mean:
4 good kingdoms
4 evil kingdoms
1 wild abandoned kingdom - full with many mythical and mighty artifacts and one super powerful artifact
Everyone want more artifacts then he want to sell them for gold but you can lose your artifact or it can be stolen by the good/evil heroes, or even by heroes from your own group... or something like this...

hmm, I like your idea.
So basically a place with many artifact and a super artifact but no one can live there, probably meaning that you can only walk or run in there, and collect the artifacts (maybe a fight could happen with a wild beast), and then you come back out again?
I do however think that their should be 4 evil kingdoms and 4 good kingdoms, and your idea of a Wild (uninhabited?) kingdom.
Perhaps if we eventually get a lot of people to join into this, we can have several people under the same banner (same kingdom), and perhaps those certain heroes could work with each other, and maybe in their posting, they could perhaps trade certain stuff, just like in homm, but this is an rp, and it could give a certain impact of realism or make it kinda relative with the game, bringing in some certain little elements from the game into an rp, it could be a totally new experience for rp's, one which I have not seen done before here on HC.

An idea to help develop the story:
So I spoke with William about this and we decided to group our efforts. Here's the deal...
I've got an idea that I think could help us develop the world.
I'm currently running an ICTC Short Story Contest. Following which I was planning on running an RP, but I think this thread would serve that purpose wonderfully. My thoughts are that whatever people develop in the short stories, we could perhaps used for the RP, so long as they join.
So yeah, if anyone is interested in writing a short story or even just a piece of a short story, feel free to do so. I think this would be the best way to predevelop the thread.
Note: Even if you did not submit a town, you can still submit a short story.
Just write a story about a hero you want to use for the RP, or maybe you could write a story about a town or maybe about an empire in the world that we are going to create.
If everyone submits something, then everyone will have a good start for developing characters and places. Then we can put everything together and put together an overall plot.

I might give this a try, if I have the time after easter. I can say already that I will join with a good character, if I join. Should the character be developed according to some special system - H5 Heroes, D&D, something else ... ?

I think we should stick to no format for character development. Just freestyle writing.
Submit something to the Short Story Contest, even if it's just a couple scenes of your character.
Write about how he took on a giant bear with his massive battle axe and cleaved its head with a horizontal blow just above the jawline. Be creative anything will do to get the ideas flowing.

No character development but instead freestyle writing, well that seems simple enough.
But could that be made better if some certain RP'ers, or maybe all the RP'ers could interact with each other, somehow?

Character development is important, I just thought some pre-RP development via writing would be the best start.
Introduce your characters in scene. Names and favorite weapons and side of good or bad is nice, but I think something more detailed and fleshed out will help get everyone in the right mindset as well as peaking everyone's interest.
Even if only a couple people post something really good, that's usually enough to inspire everyone else in the RP.
